Perfect replacement for my old faulty Thermostat. Sleek design and look.

First of all, I cannot express my gratitude enough to Emerson on the profoundly simple and easy switchover process. I was actually quite stressed about the changeover from my old thermostat to the Emerson Sensi Touch 2 Smart Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat. However, Emerson took the bull by the horns on this one, and made this a roughly 20-minute job. The supplied labels and the step-by-step guide via the app made this whole process almost quite enjoyable...and that is saying a lot for installing a new thermostat! The very first thing you have to do is download the Sensi app. From start to finish, the app leads the way, even telling you what tools you will need. It is so thorough, making the installation easy, even for someone who has never installed a thermostat before. When I installed my last thermostat, I had to use a separate level to make sure it was straight on the wall. However, the Sensi Touch 2 has an included level on the unit itself, so you don't have to go hunting for one or have to rely on guesswork! Talk about thinking of everything! There are labels included with the unit that allow you to label and keep track of which wire goes where. When you look at the back of your current thermostat, you will notice that each wire goes to a certain spot, each of which SHOULD be labeled. The labeling on the thermostat corresponds to the included labels. When you go to install the Sensi, you simply insert each wire into the corresponding connection. Here again, Emerson made it easy by using a push connector, relieving the installer from the aggravating task of having to manually screw each wire down. The rest of the installation after the base plate is a matter of plugging in the face plate and you are now almost there. I might mention that for me it was quite expedient to have a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the wires from the old unit, and a small flat-head screwdriver to loosen the very tiny screws. Thankfully, pushing down a small flap and inserting the wires is all that is required on the Sensi unit. After mounting the thermostat, it was time to test it out. All that was needed to begin was to turn the power back on to the thermostat, and go through the connection process. This was easy and simple as well. When I say “connection process,” I mean connecting to my internet and then to the Alexa app. I was probably more excited about using Alexa with the thermostat than anything else. Being able to stay seated and control the unit is a HUGE plus. Not that I’m lazy, but being able to lower or raise the temperature without having to walk across the room or the house is really nice! Connecting to Alexa is easy. This means a lot, especially so if you have ever had to enable a skill before, or connect a device. In a few short minutes, the thermostat was ready to use. At this point let me take the opportunity to point out the, well, beauty of the unit. It is modern, sleek, and super-pleasing to the eyes. It feels substantial. I’m being serious here, but it is something you would feel comfortable having on your bookshelf as an artform. And when it is installed, the display is rich and pleasing. There was obviously a tremendous amount of effort put into the aesthetic value of the Sensi thermostat. Most thermostats are something you just have to endure on your wall, but the Sensi is something that actually adds to your wall. It catches the eye, it brings attention to itself. Only last night I had a friend comment on it, wanting to know where she could get one. Yes, it is that noticeable! But let me get back to using it… Once it is powered back on, and you have gone through the connection procedures (which for me was extremely easy) you are greeted by an elegantly simple display with only the most necessary information displayed, such as current temperature, target temperature, humidity, time, and a few more bits of information. There is one submenu to be accessed, and it is through this submenu that you can add sensors, program cycles, etc. One of the best features of the Sensi thermostat is that you can add remote sensors to monitor temperature conditions in other parts of your house. I know that for me this is a wonderful feature. My family room takes the brunt of the afternoon sun, plus it is the farthest room away from the AC unit. This means the cooling/heating air has lost quite a bit of momentum by the time it arrives. And because it is so far away from the thermostat, it has no impact on its temperature readings, and like I said, it is always several degrees warmer than the rest of the house. I’m looking forward to seeing how a remote sensor might help alleviate the issue. I might add, the app itself is quite useful. It can accomplish about everything the thermostat itself can, and you don’t have to be home to use it. I love the fact that Emerson didn’t try to load the app down with so much functionality that it makes using it a nightmare. It’s just simple and easy. At the end of the day, I am truly pleased with the Sensi Touch 2 Smart Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat, and am personally convinced that it is perhaps the best smart thermostat on the market today. It’s easy to install and easy to use. And it amazingly beautiful. If you are looking to buy a smart thermostat, I HIGHLY recommend the Sensi Touch 2.

The preset cycle rate causes short cycle on my furnace, my old Sensi thermostat works better!

I recently had a new HVAC system installed in my condo and have been looking for the perfect thermostat to pair with it. I had an Ecobee before this for a few months, let's just say its accuracy in terms of room temp/humidity, it was extremely off. This led to the environment in my condo being less than ideal. Then comes along the Sensi Touch 2... the panacea to my problems! More on that later. Installation was a breeze. The app guides you through what to do if you are unfamiliar with how to install a new thermostat or replace an existing one. It will tell you what the wires on your existing thermostat will correspond to on this model and has a nice diagram drawn out for you if you need it. Once wired up, all you have to do is join it to the WiFi, give it a name in the app, and you're done! It was the most simple setup I have had for a smart device in a while. Adding a room sensor is just as easy, press add room sensor on the thermostat, and it will find it and add it and you name it in the app. I do wish you could add a room sensor juts solely with the app, it does require you to go to the thermostat. The app is very simple and easy to use. It almost is a little too simple, in terms of the GUI. But, it works, and it works well and does what it needs to do. I prefer simplicity and this meets that mark. With other smart thermostats on the market today, a lot of them are too complex and let you fine tune it too much which can be confusing to the average consumer and lead to misconfigured systems. Not much customizability here, but it is just enough to offer the best balance for your home. I love that you can set humidity levels, a very nice feature if you live on the coast like me. It also shows you your usage. The design of the unit is sleek and looks great on the wall. It is easy to read, easy to use, and does its job very well. The accuracy is on point. I put it right under a digital thermostat and their temperatures and humidity lined up very closely. With another unit I had before this, this was not the case. I would always have a temperature delta variance of 4-6 degrees and 10% off humidity. I love that this device is accurate right out the box, it helps tremendously in having a comfortable home. The room sensor is the same, matches perfectly with the digital thermostat. This is probably the best on the market right now with how well it functions. Even Alexa compatibility was a breeze. One thing to note, it does not appear to be Homekit compatible even though the app says so, the device does not... so if you are a Homekit user, beware.

Did not work, I'm returning this item. Was not able to connect follow all instructions and look at videos didn't work

After installing and using this thermostat for about a week I can say that I'm very pleased with how well it works. The toughest part about using the thermostat is the installation. This unit requires a C wire which means it requires constant voltage to power itself. It was a little confusing for me because whoever installed my previous thermostat hooked up wires to the thermostat that I later found out where not even connected to my HVAC unit. Luckily, the Sensi installation app does a pretty good job of helping you out. After watching a few videos I was able to attach a couple of wires to my furnace and could easily identify how to install the thermostat. A few minutes later it had power and the rest of the setup was easy. Setting up the thermostat to connect to Wi-Fi was also easy and after that only a few more minutes to setup a routine and to add Sensi to my Amazon account. Now I can control the temperature from anywhere in the house using Alexa and it works flawlessly. In addition to its ease of use I am expecting that it will save me some money over the long term by having routines installed and by being able to control it remotely while I am out of the house. In addition, the app helps you find rebates or installing and using the smart thermostat. I was able to find and apply to two programs. Overall, the thermostat is easy to use and works very well. I would recommend it.

I have been wanting to upgrade from my old thermostat to a smart thermostat, but I was holding back on upgrading because I was worried the installation process would be complicated and did not really want to go the extra mile of having to pay someone to install it. I decided to give this Smart thermostat a try, and honestly, the instructions from the beginning to the end were super clear and made the process super easy. It honestly left me feeling super proud that I was able to do something that I used to thing was too complicated! My old thermostat did not have a C wire, but the videos from the app provided a step by step on how to overcome this potential issue. The attention to detail is there and I never felt like this was going to be too hard. THANK YOU Sensi! Overall, here is my breakdown of my review: 5/5 Installation – I have followed hundreds of instructions from different products, and seriously this was probably some of the best instructions I have followed. Very content! 5/5 App – the app is simple and easy to use. It was a huge help in installing the smar thermostat. I wish it had some more features, but it does the job and it’s very intuitive. 5/5 Built Quality – from the screen to the feel of the product, it is quality made. Very happy how it looks. The black is settling and looks great.

The Emerson-Sensi Touch 2 Smart Programmable Wi-Fi Thermostat is great. Build Quality: The build quality is very substantial. Great looking and fits snug on the wall, unlike some manufacuturers, the unit is held securely and will not fall off the wall. Ease of Setup: The setup is very easy, make sure to follow the app instructions and mark all your wires with the tags they provide in the box. Take your time to make sure that all wires are cut to the right length and firmly snug inside the clips. Emerson THermostat App: Easy to install and use. Installation steps are included in the app to set you up for success. Lots of options inside the app and gives you ability to schedule, turn on or off the system from anywhere. Design, Look & Feel: Overall design is very modern. The information is very plain to read, can see the temperature, humidity and other pertinent information without being strained. Unit is small, but sufficient in size to do the job. I highly recommend this thermostat. Works as esxpected. Easy to setup schedules and to use the features and functions either on the screen of the thermostat or from within the app itself.

To preface this review, this is my fourth smart thermostat, all of which were from different manufacturers and the Sensi Touch 2 is probably the best one I've used based on the actual device itself as well as the accompanying iOS app (I'm not an Android user but I have to imagine the app features are identical). Keep in mind that Emerson has been in the HVAC industry for, what, 100 years? Which makes sense that this device is compatible with a full range of different heating and cooling systems. SCREEN- I really like how big the digital display is (4.3" full color diagonal) as it offers more touch sensitive options without having to scroll through different screens. SIZE - the device itself is roughly 3.5" x 5.5" and <1" thick. It feels/looks like mounting a small smart phone on your wall. A personal gripe of mine are the smart thermostats out there that protrude quite a bit from the wall so this is a great design. CONTROLS - this system is incredibly easy to use with intuitive controls that respond pretty quickly. APP & SMART FEATURES - this has all the basic smart features for maintenance & service reminders and usage reports- so, things like air furnace filter change out reminders and whatnot. I never cared for auto-learning smart thermostats because my work/personal life is never consistent enough for that to work out well. Regardless, this system does have the ability to pre-program your daily temperature needs. The thermostat connects to wifi and set up using your smartphone and a QR code is all you need. The geofencing feature is great! I travel quite a bit for work so will oftentimes turn off my HVAC system altogether. What I like about this is that the geofencing will use your location to adjust the HVAC system as needed. SMART HOME COMPATIBILITY - Amazon Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, Google Assistant. This is the ONE component that I didn't love about the Sensi 2 is that, after doing a little research, the original version had Apple HomeKit integration but Emerson chose to exclude it in the updated model. I would love to be able to control this using my HomePods as I do for my smart home components- lights, television, & sound machine. However, now I have to utilize the Google Assistant in my Sonos speakers to control the HVAC system. Is it a deal breaker? No, but it requires me to manage two smart home systems now. All that being said, this really is one of the best smart thermostat systems I've used.

I have had my Honeywell thermostat for well over 20 years and it has served me well. But when it was time to replace my air conditioning and heating unit, I figured I would get one of these new fancy thermostat that hooked up to the internet. I read the instructions and realized that my old thermostat used only 4 wires but the newer thermostats require a 'C' wire or 5th wire. I had a hard time finding mine but it was there, just tucked into the wall. Wiring looked intimidating at first but if you read through the manual carefully, you can get it done. Also, there is a ton of youtube video's that can help you out. Once installed though the unit itself is very easy to use. Download the Sensi app and follow the instructions on your tablet or phone. Took under 5 minutes to get it up and running. What was weird to me is that the layout on the phone and on the thermostat itself was different. I much prefer if they were the same and it was like the one the thermostat had. The app on the phone is quite simplistic but, to me, not very intuitive. And not as nice looking. But once you get use to it, it was a breeze to use. The Sensi, is also compatible with Google, Amazon and Smarthings. It has a scheduling date feature, which I didn't and wouldn't use. But I could see as something that could be convenient. I definitely love that I can turn on and off the unit remotely. Makes coming home to house at the perfect temp a joy. The unit is thin and sleek with a big enough screen where my old eyes can still see settings without using my glasses. When it's on standby, the temp is easy to read across the room. Very good looking unit. I really recommend this product of you're looking for a smart thermostat

I love the Emerson Sensi Touch 2 Smart thermistat! Installation was easy and instrunctions were very comprehensive making the installation a breeze and take only minutes. I think my favorite feature is the bright LED large numbers because when i need to change the tempersture in the middle of the night and im halfway asleep, its easy to see what im doing! This thermostat is touchscreen making it easy to navigate and use. Luckily we already had a cwire on hand for the installation... you will need a c-wire if you are wanting the Emerson Sensi Touch 2 Smart thermostat. I love that it has the time on the screen. Another favorite feature is that it works with Sensi room sensors to helo me save and be more efficient in running my ac or heater! I can also control my temperature from anywhere at anytime by using the app. I love to use that feature when im not home so that i can save on electricity as well as make sure the house is cozy for when i return. Overall i love having the Emerson Sensi Touch 2 mainly because i can adjust the temperature anytime from anywhere, has large bright numbers, and helps me save on electricity.

Hooking up the Emerson Sensi Touch 2 was not as hard as I had imagined it would be. Just download the Sensi app to your phone and then select the product (Touch 2), and then follow the apps instructions from beginning to end to unhook the current thermostat and connect the new Sensi Touch 2. Honestly the was as easy as having the breakers off and owning a phillips head screwdriver, tho having some needle nose pliers were handy in the adjusting the wires. pros: Stylish and sleek, doesn't feel blocky like most other thermostats. Amazon Alexa can control this, which is what I like the most, as almost everything in my house is voice activated now w/Alexa. The front of the device has a great responsive touchplate, allowing you to get through menus quickly. The Sensi phone app is also a great feature, being able to adjust the temp and setting up a custom schedule is super quick and easy. The device can also display the humidity of the room as well. It can keep track of the amount of time the heater or ac was running per day, which is nice to see. cons: none so far, the install was super simple, not much of a learning curve to operate the device, pretty straight forward. The device works as any thermostat does, operates heating and air conditioning to the desired levels but adds so much more w/(app control, voice control, scheduling, hygrometer (humidity level)) I would recommend this product for anyone wanting a home thermostat that they can control with their Alexa devices!

This thermostat is the epitome of the future. The first thing that I noticed about this thermostat was the smooth black Finnish that it came in. Its sleek design makes for a stunning, innovative polished look. One of the key points that I looked for in this thermostat was if it was going to be easy to install. One of the challenges that came with this installation was the C wire. On my previous thermostat I had an extra wire and this was suppose to be connected so it was kinda of confusing because a jumper wire was already included on this so I didn’t need the wire that was installed on my old thermostat. After I got this figured out, it was smooth sailing after that. The face of the thermostat is very user friendly and easy to install on your devices. After yo get th initial set up on your phone it is very simple to use. It is great that you can set this up on your devices and control the temperature from anywhere in your home. It goes without saying that if your Wi-Fi goes out your ill have to manually get up and set the temperature. Other that that I highly recommend this thermostat.

Secondly, the initial setup process took slightly longer than expected due to firmware updates, but it was a one-time inconvenience. So after about a week of having this installed, I can say that it is fantastic for the price and in comparison to other "smart" thermostats. I enjoy its compatibility with Google since that's what I have throughout my home, it pairs well and is able to get decently controlled by the voice assistant, though it also states sorry for Alexa if you have that. I will say, it's not as integrated as say, the Nest, in the Home app, but that's to be expected. Downloading the Emerson app allows you to begin the setup process, which, as long as your wires are correctly identified, should be a breeze. It walks you through the connection process, and the hardest part is if you have to redrill holes to mount the bracket. The overall functionally on the device is nice. It is responsive and agile in touch movements and adjustments. It also deftly handles single or multistage HVACs. I initially had a single stage ancient furnace installed, but ended up getting a new multi installed while reviewing this, so can absolutely say it can adjust and handle older and newer setups alike. The only thing you'll want to make sure of is that you have a C wire, to power and charge Sensi. Overall, this is a great value and solid alternative to any other smart thermostat on the market.

Setup was easy. Just removed the old AC controller and opened the install guide. I downloaded the Sensi app from the app store. Created an account and hit the plus sign to get instructions. During the setup video it told me to take a photo of my old setup which was genius. Then in the app it had me select which wires I had which made the next step of connecting them easy. In the past there were examples and a lot of trial and error. This really made the install user friendly since I am not a home improvement type of person. They even provided stickers to mark my wires so I know what goes where. Really genius. Next there were instructions to connect the Sensi to my wireless and then I was all set. Configuration. I set up a schedule to set the cool temp for morning and turn it down when I am away for weekdays. After that I went to the settings to setup alerts to change the air filters. The unit looks and works well. So far have not had any issues. I like the color changes on the screen when it is cooling/heating. It helps when looking from a distance. Some advanced stuff I found after a few days are that it has a geofencing feature I enabled that adjusts based on my presence vs just a schedule. Also I can lock out the controls from my other family that messes with the AC and forgets it is on Hold. I do plan on getting some sensors they sell so I can try to balance the cooler areas and hotter areas in my home as the temp near the sensi can differ from downstairs. This allows me to remain cool but unfortunately freezes the kids upstairs. I cannot comment on the heat as I am in Florida and we are just hot all year. Also I am going to connect this to my Google Home app so I can control all of my smart home devices in one place but it integrates with all of the majors out there. Ultimately I would highly recommend this for ease of use and it does so far the best job as a smart thermostat as I have experienced.
