This makes the perfect combo and you can record to a usb hard drive. Just like having HD cable all local !

The powered rotation was the selling point. Just use it for a alternative TV because the satellite provider doesn't show channels I like. It is also a great backup for local channels as they sometimes have rate issues and take them off the air.

Works, but limited to UNH stations.

It isn't capable of receiving VHF stations. This wasn't obvious on the box. In my location some stations are UHF and others are VHF.

Core Innovations has made it possible for me to cut the cord with an easy to install roof mounted solution. Once it was installed, I was able to get stations from as far as 50 miles away. Considering my house is in a little bit of a dip, that’s doing well. Getting installed and set up right was not as easy as it could be. While there’s only a single cable connecting the controller box to the antenna, the included cable is not that long. At 25 feet, it would not reach from my roof to the TV on the main level. I ended up purchasing a 100’ cable to connect the pieces and allowed me to route the cable through my roof vent and garage. The wall mounted antennas I’ve tried in the past have not been successful at getting a consistently strong signal. The quotes I’ve gotten for a roof mounted antenna have been on the high side, even with the expected savings from dropping subscription TV. This antenna came with a mount, a poll and a rotator box. The box is fairly simple with just a power light and a fault light. Signal strength is only indicated on your TV (assuming you can find it). There are no guides on the rotator box or any app to help in adjusting the antenna. It’s certainly better than going up and down a ladder to check on things, but not by much. Unfortunately, you can’t leverage any existing mount you may have (i.e. existing fixed mount, satellite dish). The rotator module is designed to slide onto the top of the included poll. The poll is smaller in diameter than the mounts which were already on my roof. That meant putting new holes in the roof and hoping I didn’t create leaks. You can solve this with some caulk around the mount holes to help seal them, but I’d have much preferred to not add to the clutter already up there. Once this is up and running, operation should be smooth. In most cities, the towers are grouped together, so you shouldn’t have to change the rotation once it’s tuned for the first time. After that, you can enjoy your local broadcast channels without any monthly charge. If you want to add recording, HD Homerun, Amazon, TiVo, and a few others offer off-air tuners. I had used Amazon’s FireTV recast, which integrates nicely with FireTV sticks. That’s part of what inspired the antenna. One network tuner then provides service all over the house. Overall, I would give this an A for effort, but the execution falls short of an ideal package in practical usage. If a roof antenna is needed, I would hire someone who could do it right and save the hassles.

Even if it did, I doubt it would be a quality product. The plastics are so cheap it feels like a toy. I highly doubt this thing can reach anywhere near the claimed 100 miles of range.

Doesn't last long....

A red light indicates power is on; a green light means the antenna is rotating; a yellow light means something is wrong with the power supply. Please check your coaxial cable connection or change the coaxial cable. Connect your antenna to the power supply. Make sure the indicator light is on. very poor quality system
