I purchased 4 of these at once. Two for business and two for a server at home. 3 of them don’t work currently. One of the fried a z590 bird for a client and heated so bad the m.2 heat sink practically soldered itself to the board(I just had bought from best buy too) anyway, pretty much done with you guys. Not the same store it use to be. I mean I can’t be surprised…. They sell the devils lettuce in pog containers now. Things change. Ohhhh that was about 3 months ago. Ohhhhh just my pets heads are falling off while I pay off this computer science masters. Aka….. evga and if it’s not modular they don’t care about you like a vizio is suppose to be a Sony….. talk to my ask Jeeves. Thanks for listening. I installed this in a system with a 10700K, 2 sticks of 16GB DDR4, an RTX 3080, Crucial NVMe SSD, Noctua NH-D15, and three 140 mm fans on a MSI Z490 Gaming Carbon Wi-Fi motherboard inside a Fractal Define R6 case. The CPU and GPU were not overclocked, and temperatures under full synthetic load load were around 75C. The PSU was installed to intake air from below the case through an unobstructed mesh panel. The system would lose power under load, presumably due to the PSU overheating. Not only would this occur during benchmarks, but during regular gaming. One time while gaming, my entire setup was drawing 480 Watts from my UPS before the system lost power, so the power supply wasn’t anywhere near full load. While I never measured the temps, the air coming out the PSU exhaust was *very* hot under load. I tried flipping the PSU to intake air from inside the case, but, unsurprisingly, it would shut down even sooner. I replaced the unit with a Seasonic power supply, and I have not encountered any power losses since.

While Corsair makes great products, this unit failed on me. I bought this power supply (PS) to replace an older power supply that I thought was giving me trouble. The price Best Buy had was great. When I installed it and turned on the new unit, I heard a pop and that distinct electrical smell. When the BIOS came up, my main hard drive and DVD ROM did not appear as devices. A SSD that was on the same power cable, did. Long and short, the unit fried my HDD and DVD ROM. So, I bought a new mother board (MB) and new SSD tied to the MB. Power it up and the computer would boot, then, reboot, then reboot. Not knowing what was going on and out of options, I connected my old PS and the computer worked fine on the new MB. I definitely got a lemon of a PS and returned it to Best Buy. I asked about my fried HDD what the PS did, and they said to take it up with Corsair. Being disgusted with the whole experience, I just wanted my money back for the PS and finalized the return. I didn't want to go round and round with another company.

Bought this power supply to replace a 650W Corsair that couldn't handle load coming from a MSI GTX 1080ti causing my pc to restart. To my disappointment, after 6 months here we go again with the random restarts. I looked at reviews and noticed many customers with the same issue. I should've bought a different brand to be on the safe side but made the mistake to buy Corsair and got burned a second time.

I bought this for my son's high end build. We both expected a better outcome since he is currently using a low powered CX PSU on another build. Unfortunately, this model immediately showed significant coil whine. The new system was not drawing much current at all. We determined via blog's that this was a common issue with this model and returned it. Corsair should correct this issue and redesign this model or change suppliers.

I love Corsair stuff, and I try to use their products whenever possible, and I will still use their stuff in the future, but unfortunately I can’t really recommend this PSU. It seemed to have work fine when I first started using it, but I noticed that this PSU would cause my computer to randomly reboot. I tried all the troubleshooting techniques and made sure that nothing else was the problem. I spent days trying to fix the issue but it still continued to persist. I unfortunately waited too long and went past the return day policy for Best Buy but I still caved and bought a new PSU. My suggestion would be to spend a little extra cash and get something of better quality like the RM850X. I’m not sure if my specific unit was just a dud or this series is just no good, but regardless it caused a lot of frustration and disappointment.

Originally I bought a "certified refurbished" CX750M from Amazon, that unit kept causing random reboots from my newly built gaming PC. While trying to figure out what the problem was, I had replaced almost every part of the computer. I eventually returned the PSU to Amazon and bought a brand new CX750M from Best Buy. But I was still having those random reboots. I was then pretty sure that it was still the PSU at fault so I ordered a Corsair MX850x from Amazon, installed it, and guess what? It fixed the problem, my computer has been running non stop since I installed the new PSU without any reboots. So what are the chances of TWO CX750m's bought from TWO separate stores, both being faulty? Tells me that Corsair's quality control sucks and they need to do a better job.

I've had a few different power supplies over the years and this is the worst one yet, by far. The fan ROARS so loud I can't even hear my games unless I crank up the volume to nearly max. Even when wearing a headset, the noise from this fan is clear. It can be heard throughout my house, I'm not exaggerating at all. At first I thought it was my graphics card, because it only happens when playing games. I've discovered that anytime my PC is rendering above 70fps or so while I play (1440p, RTX 2080 Super), the fan goes wild and there's no way to control it. This fan noise level is unbearable, and I frankly will never buy another Corsair product again honestly, I'm so upset. They should clearly state that if you play games at above 60fps/1080p the fan noise will be extremely loud. It's louder than my RTX 2080 Super, I can't explain how bad this is. I've never heard a PSU fan like this, so by the time I discovered it was the PSU 15 days has past the purchase date and I can longer return it. Horrible purchase. If you're just doing light gaming under 60FPS and 1080p I'm sure it's great, if not, be warned.

Purchased this power supply back in Feb 2020 for a custom PC build. Just finished my build and then started the problems. My rig would randomly reboot. PC would reboot during idle and sporadically after that. One certain reboot was trying to play Modern Warefare (recent release). I could launch into the game lobby, but as the match would count down, it would reboot without fail. At first, I suspected the GPU (RTX 2080 Super). GPU was on current driver, so downgraded to a couple versions before. Still the same issue. So I removed the GPE and ran the video directly from the motherboard. Issue got WORSE. Initially after the removal of the GPU, I could boot into Win10, but within 10 min, I was boot looping from Windows Recovery. To be safe, I ran a RAM test (32GB Corsair Vengeance 2x16gb). RAM passed Memtest86, no issues. I do like Corsair products but this one has disappointed me. I know its my fault for waiting, but now I am stuck with a useless PSU. Hopefully this well help others and they will stay away from this particular PSU. Just read the other reviews about the same restarting issue.

My purchasing experience was relatively great. The store shelves were bare, but the store inventory showed one item in stock. The employee's helped me find the correct unit that was on a "Black Friday" discount. I was looking forward to replacing my older power supply in my PC with one that had detachable cables. Upon installing this "new" unit, my PC would not power up, the MB and CPU fans would spin for about 1 second and power back down. Put my old power supply back in and my system booted right back up. Tested the "new" power supply with an ATX power supply diagnostic tool, and it would exhibit the same issue, powered on for half a second or so, then turn off. I'm sure this is just a "bad" unit off the factory line, as Corsair is a well known brand name. I have requested an RMA and am shipping back to BB.

This is the worst PSU I have ever bought. Started coil whining noise immediately after I installed and put under 100% GPU load. Then I researched and found people complaining all over the internet. Only plus, 5.5 inches in length, the reason that I bought it for my mATX casing.

    Shutting down and rebooting PC

My PC kept shutting down with a new PC build except I had not yet installed the GPU yet. It was shutting down on boot up after installing OOS from thumb drive with only Z390 MB, i7-9700k and 16GB DDR4-3600 in place with CPU liquid cooler. Swapped out memory, CPU, and MB. It stopped shutting down after I swapped out the Corsair PSU with the EVGA SuperNova 650w 80+ Gold PSU. I only wish I had swapped out the PSU first. By the time this was discovered, I was past 30 day return period and have already replaced it with the 650w PSU so I'm stuck with a warranty swap with shipping at my expense. Advice, "Check the PSU first".

Replaced a Corsair 620HX one of the first semi/modular psu's. { I could go and get this and replace same day, when I bought mine .. they did not have 3 different versions - lines } After purchase and it not lasting 2 weeks. I did a little research and found that this series of the new Corsair line did not have a very good track record. I was pleased when it went, it did not take anything else with it. I did replace it with a AX series of the Corsair line and it has performed as well as the original so far. If you are replacing a OEM psu of the same wattage or less, you are probably going to be ok. If you are a builder / custom builder ... then look at one of the better lines from this supplier.

Well, Pinky, it crashed faster than one of Brain's plots to take over the world. If Uwe Boll made power supplies, instead of atrocious movie adaptations of games, this is what he would have created. It's like the E.T. Extra Terrestrial of power supplies, it should be buried in the New Mexico desert. 15 minutes after boot up, the PC shut down. Took it to a repair shop, and they said the power supply was bad. Cost me $30 extra for the diagnostic, and I was without my computer because of it.

Second Corsair supply I’ve purchased with problems. The PCIe line for video card would not provide stable voltage. Windows would work fine in 2D, but as soon as the GPU was spun up for a 3D game it would last sometimes a minute, but usually seconds or immediately go to a black screen and require powering down. Missed the in store return date (my fault) and was left with the option of warranty replacement from Corsair. After researching this model more on the internet, I decided to toss it in the trash because I didn’t want another one nor did I want to sell the replacement locally and get complaints.

This one blew on me within 3 months of use. I still need to RMA it back, but I honestly do not trust Corsair enough now to use the replacement when I get around to doing it. I have not had a psu blow on me since the early 2000s during the bad caps era, so I was pretty surprised when this thing went. It was very sudden and it took out my PNY ssd with it. Thankfully nothing else was damaged.

Disclaimer: Already contacted Corsair to RMA this PSU, hopefully the next one isn’t faulty. This PSU causes my computer to restart as soon as my GPU pushes any sort of power through it. I’ve been using Corsair products for 10 years now, and if the next PSU I receive is faulty, they will never receive my business again and I’ll be sure to dissuade anyone else from buying PSU’s from them again.
