Customers value the RGB lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, and long battery life of the Gaming K57 RGB Bluetooth Keyboard with RGB Back Lighting. Many appreciate the convenient macro keys, comfortable wrist rest, and the keyboard's overall ease of use. The backlighting features also receive positive feedback. Excellent Membrane Gaming Keyboard

This keyboard is very well made. I thought it came out of the box feeling very solid for a membrane keyboard. I also liked the higher key level i.e. not flat keys like a laptop may have. Although this is not a mechanical keyboard, the feedback from the keystrokes was excellent and you could sense the complete key press but not quite like the mechanical – it will be a ‘feel’ some users will like more or less than the mechanical. The software is super and has many functions from lights to macro setup. Also I have the Void RGB Elite Wireless headphones and the same software works for both (also I liked the set of both keyboard and headphones and especially how sharp the lights work across both products). A nice touch is a very comfortable wrist rest, which is a must for me. Very nice charging cable is provided and I liked the on board storing of the USB dongle in a spot on the top/back of the keyboard. It paired easily with my Windows laptop. You need to be aware that to use the iCue software the keyboard must be attached wireless via the USB dongle (you can pair it in Bluetooth but the software will not find the keyboard). The battery with fancy patterns of RGB lighting lasted about as stated around 30-35 hours; but you can get triple that at least, if you turn off the lights. I did like that the music pause and play keys as well as the volume up/down keys are provided. You can disable keys to help when playing games. You can pair two devices with the keyboard and toggle between them using function keys. I also paired it with my cell phone (LG Stylo 4), and I am finding I love to write my eMail messages using this keyboard – never was very good with the cell phone keyboard area. This keyboard is very sophisticated for the low price-point. It is solid, has great wireless and Bluetooth. It has nice gaming features but also can be used for just doing Word or other documents, etc. I highly recommend this keyboard and also suggest using it with the Void RGB Elite Wireless headphones which provides a very nice package for you with one software and sync’d up design and lights.

This is a pretty nice keyboard being wireless and has some of the same features you'd expect to find on a good gaming keyboard. It has some features that are nice to go along with that in terms of the special macro keys and dedicated media keys. The wireless technology that the keyboard uses makes it very responsive even though it's switches are not mechanical. Even though that is the case the feel of the keys is still good though is not the same that mechanical keys provide. For me, despite that, I like the fact that it is quiet and has multiple connectivity options with Bluetooth and USB both being options available to connect with as well. The only thing that I've found that I am not liking is it does feel a little too light and I tend to prefer keyboards that have a little bit of weight so that it not only holds up better but stays put on the desk and doesn't move around. It comes with a USB cable that you can use to charge or connect the keyboard with and the wireless receiver does hideaway on the keyboard which is a plus when you're not using it because you're connected via Bluetooth or USB. The battery life is good and having used it for a few weeks now I've found that it does hold up in keeping a good charge even with the RGB lights on all the time and this week I've charged it for the first time. Like other Corsair RGB devices, the keyboard uses the iCUE software which allows you to customize and change lighting effects along with other settings. Compared to older models this keyboard's lighting is much smoother and brighter with more vibrant colors that are noticeable. If you're looking for an upgrade to have the wireless and the better lighting, this is the one to get. Outside of it being a little too light, it's still a decent keyboard and one I'd recommend over other gaming keyboards I've tested simply due to the features this one has in comparison to similar models - like the dedicate media and macro keys which oddly enough are not common to all gaming keyboards. Overall I'd recommend this keyboard unless you're looking for one with mechanical keys and Corsair does have some that are and also share similar features to this one.

Too expensive, lots of potential ghosting problems

THE GOOD -Per key RGB backlighting -Connects wireless, USB wireless dongle, and two Bluetooth profiles -USB dongle storage in keyboard base -Rechargeable battery -Nice detachable wrist rest THE BAD -Far too expensive -Only rubber dome switches -Serious ghosting problems -Full RGB control only available over wired connection -Customization software is massive and not intuitive to use -No dedicated calculator key or right-side Windows key THE DETAILS The K57 RGB sadly does not have much to recommend it. While $100 for an RGB programmable keyboard is not uncommon, that usually means a full mechanical switch array, or at least a hybrid-mech switch. The K57 is uses rubber dome switches. I have nothing against membrane or dome switches in general, and have used cheap keyboards for years with good experience. But those usually run $20, not $100. Admittedly, the K57 has lots of other features absent in typical budget keyboards, but most of them are of marginal value to the target audience. The layout is typical, except it has six dedicated programmable buttons running down the left side. Similar keys are available form many competitors but I'm not a big fan. Very often I'll hit the top or bottom keys instead of the Esc or Ctrl keys, respectively. The height of the key caps is also inconsistent across the keyboard. The three main rows have an expected, linear falloff, but the top number row is raised an extra bit, as is the bottom row being a little lower than expected. I suppose this is a way to help separate the different key zones by feel. It's neither good nor bad, but it is different than I've used on most keyboards. And while the keyboard does have dedicated volume and media play buttons, it does not have a calculator key or a Windows key on the right side. That may not matter to you, but I use them often on other keyboards ( especially the calculator key ) and it's an annoyance. The K57 has three connectivity options: wired USB ( with a thick, detachable cable provided ), normal wireless via USB dongle ( which smartly can be stored in the keyboard base so it doesn't get lost ), and Bluetooth ( it has two separate connection profiles ). A fair amount of gamers will use a wireless keyboard, so that's not bad, and a few may even want to use Bluetooth for their gaming laptops. But though the second Bluetooth profile allows the keyboard to be paired with both your computer and your phone or tablet, I don't know how many gamers want or care to do that. Most serious PC gamers still demand a wired keyboard for the most stable, responsive connection. Corsair's implementation of the USB wireless mode claims to be under 1ms response time, and I didn't notice any lag with it. However, when set to the maximum response rate ( it's adjustable in the customization software ) and using the RGB lighting, the battery gets drained in a matter of hours. The battery is rechargeable, thankfully, so you won't go burning through AAs, but if you plan on some long weekend gaming sessions, you'll want to plug it in. Also full RGB control is only available when wired to your computer ( on battery, only the built-in lighting presets are available to save on power ). I think the smarter move would have been to swap out the wireless modes for mechanical switches, or just lower the price substantially.. To program the keyboard, update its firmware, or customize the lighting scheme, you need Corsair's iCUE software ( minimal macro recording can be done without iCUE ). The software itself is a huge since it's an entire suite used to control every peripheral Corsair offers. It's very powerful and versatile in allowing all your Corsair products to work together and sync their lighting patterns, but it's also not newbie-friendly. Mine was also constantly showing error alerts on my devices ( red and yellow ! icons ) but didn't have any tooltip or popup saying what the error was. The biggest problem, and the deal breaker for me, is the sever key ghosting issues. I've found ghost combos on other keyboards before, but only after deliberately hunting for them ( most are extremely unlikely combinations ). I found a few on the K57 just in my normal daily use because the right shift key looks like it has no ghosting correction at all. Some of the ghosting combos are still unlikely to be hit in real life ( like right shift + 8 + , ), but using the right shift, along with F + V, T + V, M + J, or U + M in quick succession will only register two keystrokes. Whether gaming or regular typing, that's a problem. In all there's about 20 combos with the right shift that repeatably demonstrate key ghosting, though as said you won't normally encounter most of them. I didn't try to find any ghost combos that didn't use the shift keys, since those are the keys most likely to be held down, meaning it only takes two other keys to create a ghost scenario. It appears Corsair ( smartly ) used anti-ghosting techniques on the left shift key, since it's used far more in gaming. However it still ghosts with four combinations: T + V, T + B, Y + N, and [ + /. The last two shouldn't be a problem, in games ( though Y + N could be a hassle in normal use, depending on your typing style ). Some gamers might have problems with TV and TB and the left shift, so it's still not great. To be fair to Corsair, these problems are only noticeable when you're hitting the keys simultaneously or in rapid succession. Slow typists won't see it.. Also, many of the combinations are the very top and bottom keys in the same column; even fast touch-typists would be hard pressed to move a single finger fast enough to hit both keys within the timeframe required. It's possible since I'm not a formal touch typists ( I'm moderately fast, but I don't use a home row and I don't restrict my fingers to a single column ) I'm more affected by this than other users. Still, I've used cheap membrane keyboards for years and never run into ghosting problems on them like I experienced on the K57 Overall, even without the ghosting problems I wouldn't recommend the K57 Wireless. It's simply too expensive for what it offers. On paper, adding up each individual feature makes $100 a reasonable price, I don't want to pay for things I won't use. I don't want Bluetooth on a gaming dedicated keyboard, and even USB wireless isn't a big deal. Without the cost of the radio transceivers and internal battery, the K57 could have been a wired only, per-key RGB keyboard for around $65. Unless you MUST have a wireless programmable keyboard that's also RGB ( and remember not custom RGB in wireless mode ) for $100, I don't see the K57 being a good option. Especially in light of the many great wired-only mechanical switch keyboards with full RGB from competitors for around $100 without ghosting problems.
