Nice Companion to Dark Core; Lots of Limitations

If you own or are thinking of purchasing the Corsair Dark Core SE wireless mouse, the MM1000 pad would seem to be a must-own accessory. And if you really love the idea of charging your mouse directly on the pad, it really is a great companion. Just be aware of this product's limitations.
PROS:
- Well-built. The pad is essentially a large plastic square with two braided USB cables attached. It has a substantial weight and feels like it's ready to withstand any abuse that you might throw at it.
- The slightly textured hard surface allows for near-frictionless movement of your mouse.
- The Qi wireless charging feature works as advertised. Just make sure you have two available USB ports on your computer to provide the pad with the necessary power. Yes, you can charge any Qi-enabled device, such as an iPhone X that I've been testing with.
- Includes a wireless charging puck that can be used to charge any non-Qi device. For example, if you want to charge your older iPhone on the MM1000, simply place the puck on the designated area on the pad and plug in the other end of the puck (using the Lightning adapter) to your iPhone. It's a nice option for those with older devices.
- A USB 3.0 port is included at the back of the mouse pad, which is nice since you'll have to use up 2 of your computer's USB ports to connect the mouse pad.
CONS:
- Wireless charging is slow. It takes a couple of hours to fully charge the Dark Core SE. If you're charging a phone, be prepared to wait even longer. It took the pad more than 3 hours to charge my iPhone X from 30% to 100%.
- You have to place your mouse or device precisely on the pad's designated wireless charging area. If you're off by even a centimeter or two, it's not going to charge. This also means that you can't use your mouse while it's charging.
- While a device is charging, a green light constantly blinks at the front of the mouse pad. If you're charging your phone on the pad while using your computer, it gets annoying pretty quickly. Nothing a little black electrical tape can't fix.
- Corsair only offers this mouse pad with one type of surface (the plastic textured surface). If you're a fan of cloth mouse pads, this might not be the mouse pad for you.
OVERALL:
I was thinking that this mouse pad would be an essential, must-own accessory for the Dark Core SE mouse, but it falls short. Yes, it gets the basics right: it's a nice mouse pad that will be great for gaming and daily use. But if you're simply looking for the ability to charge your mouse wirelessly, you might be better off with a cheap, standard Qi wireless charger. It will essentially do the same thing at a fraction of the cost. But if you're looking for a good mouse pad for your Dark Core mouse and don't mind mediocre wireless charging, the MM1000 is a good option.

Good Mouse Pad, but Probably Just for One Mouse

The MM1000 is a really good mouse pad. It’s really big and coming from no mouse pad at all it instantly improved my mouse experience. There’s also Qi wireless charging built-in. That being said, it’s pretty much made to pair with the Dark Core SE mouse and if you’re not going that route it’s a hard to justify the cost.
In the box you get the mouse pad with cable attached and a wireless charging adapter with tips for micro-USB, USB-C, and Lightning connectors. The mouse pad itself is much larger than what I was expecting. The surface area is 350mm wide x 260mm tall, which I believe is considered to be a standard size. Coming from not using a mouse pad at all on a relatively small desk I did end up having to move my keyboard over a bit to accommodate the mouse pad. It’s not a knock against the pad itself and you get a lot of travel for your mouse, but just make sure you have the space for it.
There’s a USB 3.0 pass through port that you can use to connect a mouse or wireless dongle. The cable attached to the mouse pad has two USB connectors on the end and they both need to go into USB 3.0 ports. Factoring in the pass through port it does end up being a net loss of 1 USB 3.0 port. The surface has a nice texture to it and mice slide across it very easily. There’s only one LED light and that’s the Qi charging indicator.
Speaking of Qi, this mouse pad has wireless charging. It’s not particularly fast and probably only really good for juicing up the Dark Core SE mouse between uses. Corsair does include a little Qi charging pendant in the box that lets you connect it to non-wireless charging phones. I connected it to my Pixel 2 XL and it charged at an okay rate, but not as fast as I’m used to seeing. The wireless charging is only in a specific circle at the top right of the pad as well, so you have to be specific with your placement. Even if you have the Dark Core SE mouse, it’s not charging while you use it, which makes the wireless charging feel a little half-baked here.
If you’re getting the Dark Core SE mouse I think the MM1000 is a good item to pair it with, but if you’re not there’s probably better options for mouse pads out there.

CORSAIR - Gaming Qi Wireless Charging MM1000 Pad

The Corsair MM1000 Qi Gaming mouse pad is a perfect complement to the wireless rgb mouse. The mouse pad comes with a usb port to plug in the mouse as well as dongles to wirelessly charge a usb-c or apple lightning product.
To setup the mouse pad you simply connect it to any usb port on the pc using the cable. Next to the cable is an usb port can can be used to connect any usb peripherals but I found it just easy to connect the mouse dongle. The mouse pad has a hard smooth surface and the mouse seems to just glide on it.
The top right corner is where the Qi charging is placed and the are has circles indicating where to place the device for charging. I place my iphone x so its always charged and ready to go. When you place the device there is a light that indicates that it is charging. If you have an other device that does not support Qi charging there are two adapters included along with the charging dongle to connect it and wirelessly charge them- usb c and lightning.
After using the mouse and pad together I found it super convenient to have my phone charging while playing the games as well as keeping it handy.

This mouse pad delivers on everything i had expected it to. Its comfortable to the touch and has a super sleek design. The added features are a plus too, the dual USB plug ins specifically.
The mouse pad is about twice the size of my typical (non charging) mouse pad and the usb plug is in tucked neatly behind the unit to assure it does not get in the way. It's jet black and does not show finger prints very easily. Another thing i enjoy about the mouse pad is that it has a very tight grip to my desk top. Some mouse pads have become less grippy over time.
At first i had thought that it was going to a tad too small, but once it was set on my desk and plugged in it fit perfectly.
All in all, very study and responsive on the charging side too. Worth checking out!

I really like this mousepad - but my only gripe is that it's a very, very large mousepad. I mean, I appreciate the space when I'm gaming, so I don't have the issue of the laser running off the mousepad anymore - but I went from my old, typical mouse pad to this behemoth.
It also takes up 2 USB-3 ports on the back of my rig - one is to supply the power for Qi charging, and the other is used to pass-through the USB port on the top of the mousepad. The mousepad itself also has an LED indicator to let you know when something is charging using Qi charging.
It also comes with a Qi puck and adaptor, so I can charge my Apple Pencil, wireless headphones, gaming mouse, you name it. There's a very specific part of the mousepad that you need to use for Qi charging, you can't leave an accessory just anywhere.
I had to rearrange my desk to make this thing fit, but I'm glad I did. If you're a gamer who likes having a bigger space to work with, or someone who likes the idea of Qi charging accessories on your mousepad, then you should check this out. I've been using it for about a week now with no issues whatsoever. I ended up getting a small, 4-port USB hub and connected it to the mouse pad to replace the USB space I lost on my rig. Nice thing is that it also powers my Logitech Craft keyboard too, which my old hub wouldn't do, so that's a plus.

Fine but a bit too big

The first thing I noticed when I first took it out of the box it came in, was how BIG the pad was.
Took up a lot of space on my PC desk.
After a while I realized this charging pad can also be used with a variety of devices that can take advantage of wireless charging. This was confirmed after reading a small pamphlet that I found in the box the device came in. Be sure to study the various adapters so U use the correct one when charging devices. One of them worked well with my new Corsair Dark Core SE gaming mouse.
It’s too bad that the product requires two USB ports to work.
I did discover a blue USB 3.0 port on the side of the device so I was able to charge my smartphone from it.
One thing I noticed is that it took a while to wirelessly charge my Corsair Dark Core SE gaming mouse.
So, if U have the space to use this charging pad, I recommend it.
But first have a look at the photo I attached. Charging pad is sitting on top of my HP Deskjet 3632 all in one printer.

I received this mouse pad for free in exchange for an impartial review. However, when I received this mouse initially, it did not work. I was supposed to test this with the Dark Core SE RGB mouse, but after trying the mousepad on two separate computers, I could not get the Qi wireless charging port to work. The USB 3.0 passthrough worked, but the Qi charging did not. So, I had shelved this mousepad while waiting for a replacement which never came. Today, I pulled the mousepad out and, to my surprise, it actually works now.
Either way, I'm not sure this mousepad is worth the investment. As a mousepad, it's fine, but there are cheaper options for both mousepads and Qi chargers. There are no RGB lights on the mousepad. You get one passthrough USB 3.0 port and Qi charging (in the upper right corner) in exchange for 2 USB 3.0 ports on the computer. I'm not sure that trade is worth it. Without the mousepad, I would have the wireless dongle plugged into a USB 2.0 port. Now, I've given up two of my USB 3.0 ports for a slow Qi charger?
As an accessory to the Dark Core SE mouse, the mousepad works fine enough. The Qi charging is a bit slower than I expected, but it does work. However, you have to leave the mouse on the top right corner in order for it to charge.
The Qi charger works with the iPhone 8 without an adapter and on lower models with the included adapter. I was even able to use the micro USB to charge my Logitech Performance MX mouse.
The mousepad is sturdy and it grips the desk well. The Qi charging is a cool feature and in theory, does free up some charging cables, but I'm not sure if that was worth the USB 3.0 ports in exchange.

This mousepad is big, about 3x larger than a standard pad. Charges my dark core se rgb mouse nicely as well as my Note 5 smartphone.
I really wish thks had rgb accents around the edges like most newer mouse pads do. This takes up 2 x 3.0 usb ports on your p.c.

I have the Corsair Dark Core RGB SE mouse and this pad is the perfect companion. The mouse pad has a great texture makes the mouse slide gently which makes gaming very easy and enjoyable. This pad also gives the user the option to charge phones and other devices with the use of an included adaptors. The mouse pad is very easy and quick to setup. Place the pad down on the desk, connect it to your computer and you are all done read to play.
The cord length is enough to offer the option for different types of computer setups. The surface area is big enough which also allows you to move the mouse a lot without it going off the edge. The product is well made with a durable plastic surface. The cord is high quality made and has a protective braided outer layer. This is a great mouse pad that will add to your overall gaming experience.

While this mouse pad is the perfect companion to a wirelessly charging mouse (like the Corsair Dark Core RGB SE), it would be great for anyone with a QI-capable device. A mouse pad with wireless charging is a great idea, but Corsair have some additional features that make this very cool. They include a USB 3 pass through port on the top of the pad. But, a great addition that some may overlook is the additional wireless charging adapter. You can plug this into your non-wireless charging device and set it on the mousepad. Very cool stuff.
Pros: great traction for mouse, wireless charging area, included adapters, USB 3 port pass through
Cons: the pad is fairly large, it requires two USB ports (though this is remedied with the inlufed pass through port)

I bought this mousepad along with the Corsair wireless mouse. The QI wireless charging is a game changer. I love the fact that you can place your device over the logo and leave it to charge. It's a good size, gives a good range of motion, and it's a hard surface pad. It's a bit pricy, but it's convenient to have if you have QI compatible devices. Overall a great product.

First off, it's a mouse pad! What is so special about a mouse pad you ask? Well, actually nothing, but this one has a built in Qi Wireless Charging system in the upper right corner so all you have to do is set the mouse a top of the printed circles on the mouse pad and it is charging your wireless mouse ( sold separately). What's even cooler than that? Well if you have, say a Samsung Galaxy phone with the wireless charging abilities or other devices that use the Qi type of charging, then this will charge that device if you place it a top of your mouse pad in the designated area. With it being a larger mouse pad, there is still room to navigate a mouse around without too much interference if you are charging something at the same time you are using the mouse. Can it get better? You bet! I has a small device that looks like a flat candy sucker. plug this device ( comes with mouse pad ) into your phones or chargeable devices with the available adapters and now you can charge that device wirelessly by using the small adapter which will transfer the charge into your devices battery.
Having used the Corsair model MM800 mouse pad before this one, I have to say I really miss the cool LED lights that were on that model as this model does not have that which I thought to be very odd that they would take that feature away on its latest model. What were they thinking? Boring now without the flashing lights, but love the other features that make up for it.

Love the size of the mousing surface and the fact that my mouse effortlessly glides across -- this is a noticeable improvement over cloth-based mousepads I've used in the past. Definitely worth it just for that, but the fact that I can charge any USB device or even my Qi-enabled phone is a nice added bonus

So not only does this charge the wireless mouse, it's able to wirelessly charge any Qi wireless item. So the mouse, cell phone etc. It's large enough that if you are charging a device while using the mouse pad they don't interfere. It's a hard solid surface rather than a floppy fabric mouse pad. Extra ports are a plus!

I originally got this to suit my Corsair Dark Core wireless charging mouse which I had for about a week before getting this mat. Getting the mat was a great idea as my mouse would sometimes buffer due to how far away the 2.4ghz USB was away from it. So when getting this I plugged the mouses USB into it and now experience no buffering. That's just one good thing that came out of this mat. The wireless charging is so awesome. It seems decent at charging the mouse fast and through toggling the mouse settings I can allow the mouse to always keep its lights on. I haven't experienced my mouse dying yet but that's a good thing. The mat has a really weird texture but I've grown to like it. It gives you a grip on your hand while letting your mouse seemingly float on the pad and quickly move around while still letting you have control while sniping. Finally, a bonus is that the mat comes with this little dongle thing to allow non-chi charging phones to chi charge which is awesome. When you put the mouse on the chi charger it lights up white to indicate it is charging but it can sometimes be tricky to place the mouse on the chi charger but thats my only complaint.
