Customers are saying
Customers are satisfied with the HS45 SURROUND Wired Stereo Gaming Headset's sound quality and comfort. Many appreciate its lightweight design, detachable microphone, and reasonable price. While some users found the bass response lacking or excessive depending on their preference, and others noted minor software or volume-related issues, the positive feedback on sound, comfort, and price outweighs the negative. The headset's compatibility with multiple devices is also a frequently cited advantage.

Another fantastic headset by Corsair
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.pros: the sound is great, ear cuff portion is comfortable to where you don't feel like taking it off immediately (especially the memory foam padding, really nice touch), wired so less delay + more crisp sound cons: wired instead of wireless, but cheaper and arguably clearer sound because of this.

A great general purpose headset with surround soun
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The CORSAIR - HS45 SURROUND Wired Stereo Gaming Headset - Carbon can fulfill all of my headset needs. I can use it to play video games, watch videos/movies or just listen to music. Installing the iCUE software allowed me to fine tune my listening experience to the perfect pitch for the function being used. . I had the ability to choose amongst the five preset sounds: Pure Direct, Movie Theater, FPS Competition, Clear Chat and Base Boost. The mic produces clear audible speech and has a mute button. The CORSAIR - HS45 SURROUND Wired Stereo Gaming Headset - Carbon is just as good as any headset I’ve had in the past. My ears fit inside the extremely cushiony ear pads with no tightness or discomfort. They can easily be adjusted for head size with the headband adjustment. I can hear all aspects of my gaming experience clearly. I will enjoy using my The CORSAIR - HS45 SURROUND Wired Stereo Gaming Headset - Carbon

Comfortable for long gaming sessions
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is lightweight and comfortable for extended gaming sessions. The sound is very good and mic works well. The speaker cuffs are not too tight and do a good job of blocking outside noise. It is a very cost efficient option to meet you gaming needs.

Great headset, with or without the dongle.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.(I received this product in exchange for a fair and honest review.) (TL;DR) The Corsair HS45 Surround headphones are a good pair of gaming headphones, even if they were twice the price. You get clear, clean audio quality, a clear microphone, and all-day comfort The styling is no-frills, but for me, that's a positive. The iQue software is easy to use with these headphones, though the "7.1 Surround" mode is iffy compared to other options (especially Atmos' headphone mode, which sounded terrific in these headphones). First impressions and unboxing: The HS45 Surround headphones come very well packaged. You'll find the headset itself, the separate microphone (which plugs into the headset), two mic connector covers (for when you want to use the headphones without the mic), a USB audio adapter (which enables Corsair iQue's 7.1 Surround mode), and instructions for usage. Audio quality: For their price, the HS45s sound terrific. The over-ear style lends itself to an airier feel to the audio, strong bass, and clear treble. They sound just as good as any regular pair of headphones at this price point as well. Music was great, no matter if it was classical, hip-hop, or metal. At all but the loudest volume levels, audio is smooth. Only when you turn the volume levels up on both your source and the headphones themselves (yes, they put an outdated volume control on the headphones themselves) will audio get harsh, which is likely both amp clipping and the drivers being more sensitive than you'd typically find in other headphones to input signal. Not a bad thing though. The airiness of the over-ear design of these headphones enhance stereo audio, which helps with games that give audio clues where teammates, enemies, and items are. The bass response also makes explosions sound good. These headphones are good for quieting sounds from your environment but don't offer noise cancelling tech. For their intended purpose (gaming), they're good enough to quiet out all but the loudest video card and system fans. The microphone is also clear. It's not too sensitive where it picks up on all the sounds around you, but if you put it too close to your mouth and nose, you will give people the Darth Vader experience. Comfort: These headphones are the "over-ear" style, which means the foam pads will go around your ears instead of on them (the "on-ear" style). While I'm good with either style, over-ear is good for longer periods of listening to music or gaming. The only thing some people won't like is the construction of the pads - unlike higher-end headphones that use leather or leather-like materials that don't absorb sweat and oils, these have nylon covers that allow the pads to absorb sweat and oils. This means the foam pads won't last as long as they would with higher-end headphones, but the design looks like the pads could be replaced. This is only a minor disappointment for me though, as I don't expect better pads at this price point. Other features: The big thing Corsair is pushing with these headphones is their "Surround" capability with the iQue software. Color me unimpressed by the feature; it's not a convincing 7.1 mode and doesn't even have an "enhanced stereo" sound to it. Gaming, music, or movies, it didn't work for me. Compared to DTS headphone, Atmos headphone, and even Windows Sonic, it's disappointing. The audio dongle that comes in the package and enables the feature is nice though, and works with any smartphone-compatible analog headset (3.5mm connector); it's also an otherwise generic USB audio class device so it works with any computer or capable device with a standard USB port or OTG cable. Speaking of iQue, the software also contains a EQ that works well. Just don't turn the individual bands up all the way as this can introduce harshness to the audio. iQue is also simple to use. In closing, these are great headphones for the price. Gaming, music, doesn't matter - they just sound great. Just don't expect greatness out of Corsair's surround solution and spring for Dolby or DTS' solutions instead.

Very comfortable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The cushions around the ears are oversized making them very comfortable because they don’t press on your ear at all. Another benefit to the cushions being so large is the clamping pressure is spread over a greater area. I can wear these all day with no issues at all. Has a decent sized length of wire and comes with the USB plug that makes the sound better. The mic is removable and come with 2 plugs for the mic hole. Definitely worth the money!

Great Cheap Gaming Headset!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The surround sound works fantastic on PC as well as the detachable mic which is extremely convenient. The headset has a nice, clean design with the retractable sides to adjust for comfort. The cushions provide the right amount of comfort as well. Overall, the headset fits nicely and comfortably according to your liking. The program itself is easy to use when altering the surround sound system presets. Very good low-cost headset.

Good Headset for Teleworking and Web Meetings
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this headset 8 months ago, so that I could attend virtual meetings for teleworking purposes. For this product, I read a lot of the available customer reviews in March 2020. I compared the good to the bad, and also compared this headset to other Corsair headsets and other brands of headsets. Prior the COVID-19 pandemic, I never purchased or used headsets. For $50 and for people on a budget, this headset is a good investment. I have hooked this headset up to my laptop and my cellphone. The boom microphone works well whether using my laptop or my cellphone. The feature I like the most is the mute button on the left ear-cup because it really comes in handy when I need to quickly mute myself after speaking. I have listened to music with this headset, and the sound quality is average to above average. You won't have the same experience you would if you're listening to Bose headphones, but it wouldn't be fair to expect that type of experience based on the price of this headset and on the purpose that a headset serves. Other people's voices are partially drowned out, but noise isn't completely cancelled. The sound quality is about the same whether or not you use the USB dongle, as I have tested the sound quality with and without the dongle. I like using this headset without the dongle. Other people can hear me clearly, and I can hear them clearly. The headset and microphone also are useful if you are recording training videos for work and providing narration. When using the headset with my laptop for web meetings, I put my laptop speakers at a volume setting of 20, and I increase the volume dial on the left ear-cup to its maximum setting. This allows me to hear other people just fine, and it prevents my voice from echoing when other people hear me speak. If your computer's speakers' volume is too high, your voice will have an echo effect. There are more expensive headsets (non-Corsair and Corsair models) out there; but, if you only need a headset for telework and work purposes, I recommend starting with this headset because this product's price is fair. If I need another headset in the future, I most likely will go with another Corsair headset.

Decen headphone with a cheap proprietary cable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son likes the headset. It was given to him as a gift. The problem is the cable. Its nice that its replaceable but it broke in no time flat. It may have lasted 1 week. Where to get a new one? Went to the manufacturer's website and it was not obviius how to order. The hole for the cabke is supper natrow making most cabkes u buy at the store too wide to fit. It took me 3 shots to get one thin enough and of course the thinner the canle the quicker there are shorts or breaks. But the cheap cable i found lasted.4 months which is better than the week the manufacturer's cable lasted. Just be aware. Good sound quality. The bluetooth works fine. Why such a cheap PROPRIETARY audio cable? A shame.

Awful purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Are you looking for a WIRED headset that is plagued with connection issues? Do you want some more frustration in your life? Well this is the headset for you. The software to manage the Corsair headset, iCUE, often does not recognize it so you are unable to fine tune settings. Additionally, after using this headset MAYBE 6 times after purchasing new, they stopped working and Windows would no longer recognize the USB drive. After much troubleshooting, it appears this is a common problem and the headset is now a $50 paper weight. STAY AWAY FROM THESE HEADPHONES

Horrid Support and Microphone won't work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is horrible. Corsair promotes 24/7 support but when you call them they tell you that is for premium customers. I tried every imaginable setting to get the microphone to work for voice transcription but nothing worked. This is a piece of junk. Stay away from this garbage.
