A Solid Contender - Corsair H60 Headphones Review

The Corsair H60 headphones step into the realm of affordable wired headsets, offering a budget-friendly option for gamers and audio enthusiasts alike. Boasting a combination of audio quality and microphone functionality, the H60 aims to strike a balance between performance and affordability. In this review, we'll delve into its features, comfort, audio prowess, and microphone capabilities to see if it truly stands out in its price range. Audio Quality: One of the standout features of the Corsair H60 is its commendable audio quality. While not aiming to compete with high-end audiophile headsets, the H60 provides a more than satisfactory experience for its price point. With well-defined highs and adequately punchy lows, it manages to deliver an immersive audio experience that is more than adequate for gaming, music, and movies. The audio profile leans towards a slight emphasis on bass, which can enhance the gaming experience and add depth to explosions and gunshots. Comfort and Build: The comfort of a gaming headset is paramount, especially for extended gaming sessions, and the Corsair H60 doesn't disappoint. Its lightweight design and adjustable headband ensure a snug fit on various head sizes. The memory foam padding on the ear cups provides a reasonable level of comfort, even during longer sessions. While the build quality is primarily plastic, the headset doesn't feel overly cheap, and the adjustable headband adds some sturdiness to the overall construction. Microphone Performance: The included microphone on the Corsair H60 is serviceable, though not a standout feature. It offers clear voice transmission without distortion, making it suitable for in-game communication and online meetings. However, it might lack the richness and noise-canceling capabilities of higher-end microphones. For its price, the microphone does an okay job and is certainly a step up from many built-in laptop or webcam microphones. Design and Aesthetics: Corsair has kept the design of the H60 relatively minimalistic, with a matte black finish and subtle branding. This approach makes the headset suitable for a wide range of users, from gamers to professionals who require a simple and understated look. The ear cups' red accent adds a touch of flair without being overly flashy, and the adjustable microphone arm ensures easy positioning for optimal voice capture. Conclusion: The Corsair H60 headphones offer a fine balance between performance and affordability. With solid audio quality that caters to gaming, music, and movies, it fulfills its primary purpose commendably. While the microphone might not deliver the highest level of quality, it's certainly serviceable for communication needs. The comfortable design and versatile aesthetics make it a suitable choice for various scenarios. If you're in the market for a budget-friendly wired headset that gets the job done without breaking the bank, the Corsair H60 is worth considering.

The CORSAIR-HS60 Pro Surround Wired Stereo Gaming Headset is a good, quality wired headset. Assembling the headphones was fairly simple, but I had some trouble getting the microphone to work. The instructions that came with the headset were very minimal and did not have a great troubleshooting section. Inserting the microphone to the headset requires more strength than you think it needs. The headset is a little tight, but it will loosen over time as most headsets do. It's very comfortable and feels quite plush. The sound quality is great, especially if you can use the USB option to activate the surround sound. This headset works on my Nintendo Switch since it comes with the headphone jack. It's a great all-around headset to use especially if you don't want to charge any batteries. I purchase this headset when it was on sale for ~$50. I think this is a steal if it's on sale.

I have waited for a while to review this item as I wanted to try it out effectively before doing so. I am a novice when it comes to headsets, and wasn't looking for anything over $100.00 because I would only use it for playing with my kids or listening to training videos when necessary. I did some quick Google research and this one was on a list alongside the likes of Turtlebeach. These headphones are corded and have a fairly long cord which was an advantage for me. They comes with a USB adapter that can be used on computer to allow the microphone use for communicating with your team during play on Call of Duty. The surround sound allows me to track footsteps in the game to help me locate and survive when being stalked. They isolate sound well but allow you to hear things around you if someone tries to get your attention in the room. One thing I liked about these headphones also is the fact that the microphone can be removed and you can use them as headphones on other devices (though the plug cover is completely detached so be sure you put it somewhere you won't lose it while the mic is in!.) The ear coverings seem comfortable but are a little on the hot side due to being a faux leather. Overall, I would have to say that the sound, microphone operation and overall design are very good. The reason I gave it 4 stars is that they are a bit heavy and tight. I'm comparing them to an older set of Bose I own so price points are substantially different. Buy them for gaming, you won't be disappointed.

I am an on again, off again PC Gamer. I used to spend many an hour playing World of Warcraft with a headset on. I logged many hours with an older Creative Labs Fatal1ty branded stero gaming headset. It was decent for what it was. But after many hours I became sore and fatigued wearing it. Years ago, my son eventually destroyed it when he took it with him to a friend's house for gaming at a LAN party. Now that I am getting back into PC gaming again, I need a new headset. I just went without for years. This Corsair was recommended by the Full Nerd Discord community so I took a chance on it. First thing that struck me was how comfortable it is. It does not feel like my head is in a vice. Secondly, it does sound really nice. Not sure about how well the virtual 7.1 surround does or does not work. It does seem that in FPS games and such that there is more spatial awareness to the direction of sounds. It is not as good or clear as a true 7.1 home theater setup, but it is more than just things panning from left to right in stereo. Some minor quips. Comparing this to the equivalent Logitech G432 which my son now has. The Logitech has a longer cord. Not that the Corsair cord is short, but the Logitech is longer. More the better but again, personal preference. Also, while both the Logitech and this headset have 7.1 virtual surround via an included USB dongle and both headsets have a signle 4 pole connector that goes into their respective dongles, Logitech includes a 4pole to two 3 pole adapter so tha tyou can use their headset with a pair of traditional 3.5mm mic in and headset out jacks. This way you do not need to use the USB adapter if you just want a traditional stereo headset experience. Overall, I am pleased with this headset and would recommend it.

Largest complaint when I first got it. I thought it might be a tad heavy, as the band slightly pushed on the top of your head. Very comfortable, my ears dont touch inside the muff, good space and great sound canceling, now that I've had this headset for months the weight is slightly noticeable on my head, removable mic is very handy, on/off mic button on headphone along with volume adjustment. Excellent build quality, would recommend

The sound quality of this headset is excellent, making it suitable for gaming and watching videos on both PC and mobile devices. It is also comfortable to wear for extended periods of time. However, the build quality is only average and may not withstand excessive wear and tear. The ear cups are limited in their ability to swivel freely, and if pushed beyond their limits, they may break down over time. In my personal experience, the headset only lasted six months before it needed to be repaired with super glue. If you want a headset with a longer lifespan, it might be worth investing in a higher quality model with a more reliable build.

I am enjoying my Corsair headphones. The sound quality is great, the Comfort level is great, the length of the cord is great, all around great. The only reason I didn't give this product five stars is that the left ear material started coming off after several months. I succeeded in pushing it back in, and now it's as good as new again.

Owned this for over a year now and I am loving it. Quality of the sound is great. It is very comfortable over my ears and I use it for my PC and PS5. Only thing I forget is the mute button for the microphone on whether it is on or off (the little picture next to the button doesn't indicate if being pushed in is on or off).

I use these for listening to TV and video games (have not used the microphone). Great sound, solid construction. Fairly comfortable over long periods, good fit, entirely over-ear. I wish the volume went higher (max setting isn't extremely loud), which is the reason for the 4 star review.

I have a wireless headset that I've used for a little over a year. I was in the market for a new headset because the wireless one was beginning to malfunction. I came across the HS60 Pro during Black Friday and couldn't say no. I am extremely happy with these! Very comfortable to wear and I don't have to worry about them running out of batter (like the wireless). Excellent sound and 7.1 (with the USB adapter that's included). I highly recommend these if you don't want to spend over $100 for a great quality headset. Plus, you can't go wrong with Corsair!

This headset has been an overall great experience for me. They come in at a price range that is relatively on the lower end, yet offer excellent features. The headset is very comfortable with very soft cushioning for the earcups and headband. They can be synced up with iCUE software, and the 7.1 surround sound has made a world of difference in games for me. These allow me to hear things my very budget $30 set never picked up, or nowhere near the volume. The mute button is very easy to use, along with the scroll wheel for the volume, the detachable mic is nice too. I often use these as regular headphones when listening to music and multitasking and they offer great sound clarity and customization through the iCUE application. Overall a great headset, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I have a Corsair HS45 I use at work and like, so in the age of distant socializing I bought an HS60 to use at home. It sounds noticeably better for music than the HS45, and works just as plug-'n-play with my iPad and PC as the HS45 does -- it "just works." It's great for music, and great for chatting with FaceTime, Teams, Zoom, etc. it is a big, warm set of around-the-ear headphones, like quality stereo headphones rather than like the lighter weight on-ear USB headsets people typically use for work videoconferencing. For me, the better sound quality for music listening outweighs the additional weight and bulk. These are just what I was hoping for. The included USB adapter enables these to work with PCs that don't have the cell-phone-style TRRS audio jack for stereo-plus-microphone connections. When I plug the USB adapter into the PC, Teams knows to switch to the headset for videoconferencing.

Really sad they don’t produce this headset anymore. I’d been using this as my basic wired headset for years now. It was way above its quality for value. Mic is great, audio is rich, and very comfortable.

I've been using this headset for gaming on Xbox One X as well as video conferencing for virtual tabletop games on pc. First, the sound quality of these headphones is amazing! It's balanced and powerful without being over the top. The bass response is snappy, the higher end is clear and bright, and at no point does it feel muddy. Playing games with these headphones sounds as enjoyable as it does with my surround sound setup. Second, the earcups and headband are comfortable. I haven't noticed any hot spots or places where the earcups press on my ears. The headband is plush, but still causes some discomfort on the top of my head after an hour or two. Third, the mic is just okay. It's clear enough that the other end can understand me, but it's nothing spectacular. It beats using my laptop microphone or my earbud mic. Fourth, I would rank the virtual surround tech as follows: Dolby Atmos for Headphones > Windows Sonic for Headphones > Corsair iCUE virtual surround. I don't really see a reason to use the usb dongle included when I can get the same or better quality virtual surround through my 3.5mm jack. Maybe if you didn't have easy access to a headphone jack the dongle would be useful? Last, I noticed the usb dongle made my microphone really quiet. Like, "discord doesn't work because it doesn't register enough sound" quiet, even when the mic is right by my mouth. The microphone works just fine when plugged into the 3.5mm jack. Overall, these are great sounding headphones that work well for gaming or other general applications.

Buying a headset was the hardest part of my PC build. I wear glasses so making sure it doesn’t clamp on my head pressing my ears into my frames was a must have for me. In my personal preference I would have loved these better if they were slightly less tight however these do not give me discomfort after long use and I mean 12 hour gaming sessions. When wearing for that long when you take them off to go to the bathroom or whatever your ears will feel a relief of release from the pressure but nothing that’s like I can’t wear these. Especially for this price point this is great. I have a short head and these on the shortest length fit me so that’s also great. The mic is really good too. No it’s not exceptional or anything but for the price point it is. If there’s a loud constant noise like an air fryer or washing machine going off the mic won’t pick it up which is amazing. I also think the sound quality is better than expected especially when listening to EDM music for being made for videogames. I like that the mic is removable as well. Both my boyfriend and I however have had some issues with the connections. We both originally used the USB connector as it’s supposed to be better however my sound kept randomly cutting so I switched to the AUX. my boyfriend also had the issue but much less then I and moved his from the back USB to the front and uses it for Tarkov so the surround sound is great for him. The sound dropping stopped for me only when I uninstalled the headset from my driver and reinstalled it. I docked one star for this issue as I was seriously worried I’d have to return mine. But I guess it fixed it as it’s been 3 months of use and no further issues. For the price (and we got it on sale) I’d say this was a steal!

When I first started gaming, I purchased four of these for me and my children. kids are very rough and they lasted a long time. Just be careful with the inner lining. Definitely by your protection plan if something happens to them, just trade them in and purchase another protection plan. They’re a little snug, but they start to stretch as time goes by.
