Great sounding headset with too much pressure
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sounding headset with is ok in comfort. Overall the Corsair HS65 headset is a great gaming headset very well made and sound great. I love the design of it and while I’m not of fan of the big integrated mic. It can easily be locked in place out of your sight, and the mic quality is amazing. So while I’m not a fan of the mic being permanently attached the mic quality does make up for it. My one big gripe is the pressure from the headset while the design of the ear cups and the padding is good the pressure tends to be too much after a couple of hours of warring the headset. While I never felt my ears feel warm I had to take the headset off every so often to relieve the pressure. The sound quality is great and Corsair software makes it a breeze to adjust your sound settings. But I was truly impressed using these on the ps5 they sounded great and everyone I played with said the mic quality was excellent. While I do wish you had a way to adjust the settings of the headset on the ps5 I did enjoy that these are simple easy To use headset. Compared to the other headsets at this price range I think these cannot be beat, highly recommended.

Comfortable for all-day use
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’m always looking for good gaming headsets that can be used for my zoom meetings on my computer. The Corsair HS65 Surround is a good headset that meets my needs for home gaming and for my work zoom meetings. Firstly, they are very comfortable on my hears. They are over-the-ear headsets and so they rest easily and comfortably over my ears, with very good and soft cushions that are not hurting my ears. Corsair calls it “Memory Foam Ear Cups” leather like and it does cup my ears well. With that, it creates good sound quality and does drown out some of the outside noise surrounding me. It is not true surround sound, but it does provide great sound. The headband is adjustable and very lightweight that doesn’t push down or squeeze my skull which makes them rest comfortably for long period of time as gaming and meetings can go well over an hour. The mic is on the left ear and easily adjusts up/down with little effort. The mic pick up is very good and those on my meetings can hear me well with no issues. I like that I can adjust it when I don’t need to use it and it mutes it at the same time. There is also the rolling volume on the left. It is wired and it can be used on the 3.5mm headphone jacks (many devices no longer have them but computers still utilize them). Included is a USB-A adapter that can be used as well if you don’t want to use the 3.5 jack. Overall, these are good lightweight headset for everyday use. I like how they are comfortable to use and can be used all day. Highly recommend these if you are in to gaming and online meetings.

Outstanding Sound; Outstanding Value
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Be sure to read the User Manual/Setup Guide as it explains how to enable 7.1 surround sound. In a nutshell, downloading their iCue software and using the USB adapter is required. If you don't, you won't get the virtual 7.1 surround sound. One little glitch I ran into was the website listed in the instructions was not working for downloads. I used their chat support to find the correct site is corsair.com/us/en/downloads to get the iCue download. Once the software is downloaded you have access to the equalizer and can choose between stereo and 7.1 surround. Once setup, I went to my go-to game, War Thunder, with the 7.1 surround enabled. The sound blew me away! It was so startlingly real I found myself flinching at the tank fire and explosions. It really put me in the middle of a war battlefield. The sound quality and range are terrific, the depth and layers of sound were much greater than what I had previously experienced playing that game with stereo headphones. And these Corsair headphones are very comfortable, they're lightweight and can be worn for long periods of time. The 7.1 surround sound, an equalizer to personalize the sound, and the quality of the sound of these headphones makes them a great buy at their price point. I highly recommend these, I don't think you can do better for wired headphones for their quality and features at their price.

Great Alternative Headset
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an excellent alternative to more expensive wireless headphones that are out there. The setup was a breeze out of the box. Having iCUE software was a very nice feature for me to tweak the sound to my preference. I don't recall having this with any other headsets I owned in the past. Lifting the microphone until you hear a click to mute it is pretty cool because it eliminates any confusion with other buttons. The headset is very light and comfortable. I was able to wear this for hours without any discomfort. I also liked that I was easily able to use this for work conference calls. The sound quality with way better than what I expected. Using the 7.1 surround sound, I heard things in the game that I didn't hear before. I'm giving this five stars because I could not find any cons at all. I know there are nicer, more expensive headsets out there, but this gives me everything I need at a much better price point. To be honest there's no difference between this and a wireless set. The wire never got in the and was never a problem to me. So think about that next time you write off the wired headsets.

Comfortable and 7.1 sound clarity
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones are extremely light yet feel really well made. The microphone is just the right length and is easily muted by rotating to the up position. Initial setup is easy by connecting the 7.1 adapter to a USB port on your PC and plugging the headset into the adapter. The software can be downloaded from the Corsair website to take advantage of all of the feathers. The software can also be used to manage additional Corsair devices such as keyboards and mice. I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. I had been using headphones with Dolby Atmos and the 7.1 surround was actually more crisp. I mainly play New World and the nature sounds were as realistic as I have every heard on a headset. It gives an edge because you can hear footsteps and everything happening around you. The software gives you the ability to change the sound equalizer to your preferred type. I prefer the FPS shooter preset for gaming. For the price these headphones have features of products that cost much more. I game on multiple devices and use a lot of different headsets. These will be my primary headphones for PC gaming going forward.

Light on the head without feeling cheap
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It’s difficult to find a pair of headphones with a microphone that work with the Nintendo Switch. These do an excellent job for this task. You will lose the surround sound capabilities in this configuration but being able to talk and have your teammates hear you from the Nintendo Switch is well worth the trade off. What feels a little flimsy with these headphones is that the microwave is part of a rectangular band that you can bend to move closer to your mouth. While it works, I suspect over time that this is going to be the first thing that breaks on the unit. When connected to a gaming PC the surround sound kicks in thanks to the USB connection and after a few hours of gameplay your head still feels comfortable as the lightweight construction of this headset helps. I’m old school and appreciate fewer buttons on a device so it was a great thing to see only one toggle switch on the headphones which controls the volume. I love not having to guess what knob/dial/button to press in order to adjust the volume.

Great headset for PC, not great for console
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had a LOT of headsets over the years and have found some work great in some situations, but not so great in others. Unfortunately that's about where I landed for the Corsair H65 headset. Depending on how you plan on using it you will either have a terrific bargain, or will be thoroughly disappointed. Out of the box the headset is light and incredibly easy to set up. It's essentially 'plug and play' no matter if you're using them with a PC or console. Like most Corsair headsets they're comfortable, even after extended play, though they aren't quite as padded as more expensive sets, and I did find that when I needed to wear my glasses with them (for PC play) they grew uncomfortable faster as the lighter cushioning 'pressed' my glasses into my head over time. Also there are no 'notches' to hold the sliding headband in place, and I found them slipping over time or if I needed to remove them and put them back on, and would require re-adjustment almost every time unless I was very careful when I removed them. The mic is pretty standard, but works well. No one had any trouble hearing me either in an online meeting or while gaming. It is bendable and easy to adjust. Most importantly, it stays in place while playing. It 'mutes' when flipped down, and you can move it completely out of sight when playing a single-player game--which is something I wish every gaming headset offered since the mic can be a slight distraction when you're not using it but it's still in sight. The fact that they're corded is a pain, of course, but that's the main reason why they're less expensive than many other surround gaming headsets. The cord is plenty long enough that I never had an issue with it, yet not so long that I got tangled or found myself tripping over it when getting up from my desk. Testing these with my Playstation 5 I was less than impressed. For some reason the sound never really seemed to be either in surround or very loud in general. It was difficult to adjust and I could never quite find a spot that 'clicked'. I was prepared to give these a one-star rating all the way around, and honestly if you're looking for a decent pair of console headphones that don't cost a fortune I'd still suggest to look elsewhere. However it's a completely different story on the PC. I was honestly shocked at the difference in quality. I'm assuming the USB adapter and Corsair drivers make the difference. Either way the sound quality was impressive. The surround sound was excellent with every game I tried --especially noticeable in DOOM and Overwatch. I found it easy to tell directions of enemies based on the surround sound. Explosions were loud, but voice chat was still easy to distinguish. It helps a lot if you install the Corsair software (iCUE) which is very cool and a different experience than any other 'sound' software I've used. It's almost like a hearing test--when you set up the software it will walk you through a series of 'tests' and you choose which one sounds better. You do this a few times and it will use your answers to tailor your sound to your preferences! I found this to be much more intuitive--and fun-- than the usual 'preset eq's' that are standard with most sound software. It's especially great for people (like me) that know next to nothing about equalizer set ups. It's really stunning how different these perform with a PC over a console. I'm assuming the software and USB connection (with the included adapter) makes the difference. It's not very often I've found there to be such a stark difference in quality depending on use, but it's truly there with this headset. I even took them back to my PS 5 to make sure I wasn't imagining things, but they truly sound like a different set of headphones (a much worse set on console). If you are going to use these exclusively on PC then I highly recommend them--if you're looking for a headset for your PS5 then I'd say to look elsewhere. I decided to compromise and landed on 3 stars due to the difference in quality between the two. They truly are a very good value on PC and sound as good as headsets that cost twice as much--and on console I've heard better headsets that cost half the price. I

Posted .Hi SgtRock,
Thank you for your thorough feedback. The input is genuinely appreciated. I suggest playing around with the audio settings on your PlayStation - especially the PlayStation 5 as it has 3D Audio. I also agree with you - the SoundID technology integrated into iCUE is definitely useful to have the headset tailor to its user... and it's super easy to use! Good Value for its Category
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Microphone sounds decent enough. People I tested it with said it was very clear and I don’t expect much more than that when I’m playing games. What I do care a lot about is the sound experience and the Corsair HS65 did not let me down although it did not impress me too much. But at this price point, I would be still digging to find out what was wrong with it if it performed any better. I’m very picky about sound quality, although I tend to be forgiving depending on what I’m listening to. When playing games, for instance, I don’t really care about nuances if it’s clear and keeps me immersed in the game. The HS65 did provide clarity although not as much as some higher-end headsets but I felt immersed. Another thing that really matters to me is comfort. Playing games can take hours sometimes and it should not be pain ever. What I didn’t like was that it felt tight on my head very quickly. Although the cushions were very comfortable, the headband was not so much. Maybe it was my set or maybe my head is bigger than I admit (other family members didn’t agree it was uncomfortable), but I wish there was a way to make it more comfortable for me. I’ve had headsets that were too loose, and they soon became useless. I just wanted it to be somewhere in-between. To be honest and fair, the headset is very light, so it did not feel too bad. As to setting up, it was just plug and play for my PS5 and the PC adaptor works well. You can experience the 7.1 Dolby surround sound, which will please any non-audiophile

Great!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Corsair HS65 surround wired gaming headset has been great to use. Easy installation if using it on a Windows computer. I went to the Corsair website, downloaded the needed drivers, and plugged the USB dongle into my computer. The drivers installed automatically, and they were ready. The included software is nice. You have access to equalizers, software updates, and voice modification. I've used them with my computer and my PlayStation 4 gaming system. Both were very good experiences. The included microphone is also very clear and precise. I did some chats with it via Zoom and while playing Call of Duty. No one complained about my voice. Watching movies with the 7.1 surround sound enabled was a pleasure. You will be fully immersed in the movie. The booms and precise sounds all come out very clear. Gaming is also fun. Especially while playing first person shooters. Every bullet will be heard, even the direction that it's coming from. All in all, the HS65 surround wired gaming headset is worth the price, and I can definitely recommend it to others.

Great value
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This headset is pretty good. It is comfortable, though I feel like it could use some more flex, or give in the swivel/angle of the ear portion from the top band. The volume control on the ear piece is nice, but I would prefer a button to mute there as well, rather than having to flip the mic arm up and down to toggle mute. I feel like eventually, doing this will result in the hinge for the mic, or the switch inside breaking. It is nice that it comes with an adapter from the aux plug to USB. For the price, i'd buy again, however I have only used it for a week.
