Decent for PC; Awful for PS4

If you don’t plan on running Corsair’s iCue software in the background, the headset has very limited functionality. Sidetone, EQ, and any other adjustments you make will not be in effect. That being said, on PS4 none of these features work at all since iCue isn’t even an option. I’m really disappointed because nowhere on the box, nor in the owner’s manual does it state that NONE of the headsets features will work when being used on PS4. In addition, none of my friends could hear me well on PS4. They all said it sounded like I was using a PlayStation camera that was 20 feet away from me as a microphone, even though I maxed out the mic level within the PS4 menu. What’s even weirder, while they could barely hear me talking, on more than one occasion they complained that they could hear me breathing. I think “noise cancellation” is supposed to work the opposite way, Corsair. These are pals I’ve played with for years on PS4, and never in the past have I had someone complain about not being able to hear my voice, or sounding like a mouth-breather. My conclusion: headset is DOODOO on PS4, but might be viable for PC if you’re okay with running the iCue software in the background 24/7. For now, I’ll stick with my LucidSound LS41 that’s wireless, supports independent game/chat audio volume knobs, has a red LED to indicate a muted mic, and provides sidetone/mic monitoring on its own.

Overall I was very excited for this headset, the looks and overall quality seemed above the price point. But it didn’t take long to show it’s true colors. After 2 months of light use, (about an hour a night) the headset started to lose features. First the voice prompts stopped working, after that the headset would start to turn off every ten minutes while in use. Now the connection will just decide to stop transmitting the mic. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the horrible iCue software, I have forced drivers of all kinds, and nothing fixes for more than one session. Really a letdown and will forever scar my opinion of corsair. Please be weary when deciding to go with the HS70 pro. My disappointment is immeasurable.

Static sound straight out of the box, had to return. The item was packaged nicely, but didn't appear to be "new" even though it was in what appeared to be in a newly sealed box. The accessories like the cord and usb dongle were just loose and not in their own packaging like they should have been. Therefore, I have to give this a fair rating.

I was excited to pick up this budget friendly 7.1 surround sound headset to use with both my PC and PS4. In the box is the headset, mic, micro USB charging cable, and USB wireless dongle. Setup is quick and easy plug and play. If you install the CORSAIR software (iCUE), you can get the 7.1 surround, when supported, as well as preset sound profiles, and manual adjustment settings. If you don't install the software, you are limited to basic sound functionality. As far as the headset design and function, there are a few quirks. First is the microphone. It plugs into the left ear piece and has some flexibility, but there is no way to move it up and away from your face, short of detaching the mic from the headphone. There is a port cover for the headphone plug, however since its not connected to the headphone, I'm reasonably sure it was lost within 5 minutes of removing it from the headset. The microphone tends to pick up more ambient noise than I would prefer, if you are too close it picks up breathing, and too far away it seems to pick up additional background noise, that many headphones in this range would not. Second issue is the battery, I can confirm it has at least 16 hours of battery life, I use it intermittently and can expect it to last a full day easily. The downside is on day 2 of use after charging, I have no clue on the battery level. Due to lack of battery indicator or remaining life, I find myself unnecessarily charging the battery each day if I know I will be using it for an extended period. Third is the volume controls, on the left cup there is the mic, charging port, mute button, then volume dial, the right side has the power. As a lefty, this works for me, however my right handed friends found it a bit awkward and not intuitive. Lastly is the weight, I can wear this most of the day comfortably, but if you prefer a light weight headphones, these may not be for you. If you can get past the quirks of the design, these are great headphones. The sound quality and battery life far exceeds my expectations for the price. I love the 7.1 surround sound for gaming and movies, and find that the headset has quality depth. The wireless range is outstanding, I can go downstairs and have 2 walls between the headset and the computer without having any distortion, I estimate I'm at least 25' from the dongle at that point. I also haven't found any lag to the audio that you find with some headphones. Overall a solid 4 stars, great sound with a quirky design.

Failed battery 2+ years of light/normal use

Has barely been two years and the battery is completely dead. Without a cable, it will not turn on. Also had to replace the leather ear cup cushions because the leather was tearing. That could be my own fault for not taking care of the leather properly. Regardless, the headset battery failed under normal/light use as a gaming headset then transitioned it into use for work meetings where it would be on for 1-2 hr increments, well below the life of the battery. While it worked it was great, but the battery failing defeats the major reason in getting it. Currently talking to Corsair Support to see if anything can be done. Will update with new info.

While this headset sounds amazing, it kept losing connection and crackling. Corsair replaced them, but it started happening again. So, I think there is a connectivity flaw in general and not specific to my first set.

I bought this and within 3 weeks stopped using it. As a wireless headset it's the worst I've ever used, and I've got Several Corsair Void Pro wireless, steelseries arctis 7, HyperX Cloud stinger, Logitech G533 wireless. In the middle of a game that I was actively playing I'd get the "shutting down" for idle mode repeatedly. This was after a full overnight charge of the headset. Speaking of the battery, it's life was extremely sad and short. I think at about 6 hours of gaming the headset would start to give up. The mic that doesn't pivot is also kind of annoying, I'd prefer to pivot the mic upwards to mute vs push a button on the earcups. I eventually gave up trying to trouble shoot this or use it with out it being connected to power. And then I gave up on it all together and went back to my Arctis 7s.

I was surprised with the quality and look of these headphones. They are very comfortable and sound great. These are great gaming and general purpose headphones. The only complaints I would have is that they are only compatible with the USB receiver they come with. Also for high end gaming headphones they don't have any RGB features at all. The Corsair iCUE software works well but there is not a lot of features to be changed or enabled with these. The sound quality is really nice and the built in battery lasts as long as I could play. I did notice that the ear cuffs can cause slight sweating. I think this is pretty common unless you opt for super high end headphones.
