Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Corsair HX1200 power supply's high power capacity and excellent quality. Many appreciate its quiet operation and reliable performance. However, some users found the included cables to be stiff and difficult to manage. Overall, the positive feedback on power, quality, and noise outweighs the concerns about cable management.

The HX1200 has a non-critical power issue. Check the official Corsair forums to see if your unit is affected by this (PSUs produced mid-2020), and you can request an RMA. Otherwise, it's an excellent unit.

      Hi user,

Were you using the provided cables that came with this power supply? We don't recommend mixing in other cables with the PSU or using the provided cables with another brands PSU as it may cause damage. If you'd like assistance with the cables or the PSU itself, please reach out to our support team: support.corsair.com

      Hi sqexpress,

The 4 included PCIe cables have 2 connectors each providing you a total of 8x PCIe connectors to use. If you'd like assistance with installation of your graphics card, please feel free to reach out to our support team, we'd be happy to help: support.corsair.com

I used for about 5 months and one day a burning smell coming from the power supply, cables and ports melted. This thing almost burn down my house. I didn't expect this from a platinum power supply, something is wrong with this one

I bought this off Amazon, as i was already buying something else and nedded it sooner that Best Buy could get it to me. I was skeptical of it due to how the modular plugs on the PSU looked in the pictures. They are close together and dont look lined up (straight). This is pretty close to how it actually is. They are all in a group but they are a little more straight than the picture. I was just concerned about manufacturing quality if they couldn't even get those horizontal and lined up. But it seemed to be the only 1200 W platinum I could find in stock for not an absurd price. It has a multi-rail 12 V function, and it makes hardly any mention of it in the instructions and doesn't explain what it is at all. From what i gather on google its a way for each pci/sata/etc cable to only pull up to 40 Volts per cord. Its basically an over voltage protection. There are 2 things I don't like with this PSU. #1: The cords that come with it. They have that hard heat shrink wrap way to close to the cords ends. The wrapping is long, making impossible to bend the cords at an angle to not push right up against your cases glass when connecting to your GPU. the 24 pin took some working over to get into position and not have it put stress in the MOBO with the cord tryong to bend back. #2: When the computer goes into sleep mode. There is a really rather alarming clicking that im more than certain is comming from the PSU. I dont think my Corsair catpillex is making that loud of a click. Im sure its okay but it sounds like you are hard restarting and old computer or something.

I’m not an expert in computers by any means but it’s a great product in my eyes. No issues at all thus far, running multiple different components all at once (200-250w each) and never had any problems.
