I am VERY happy that Corsair made this controller available(although it would have been nice to have at least 3-6 more fan/rgb connections(I have 9 fans and 3 extra with another controller hooked to my AIO)), so I had to get 2 of these bad boys(ouch my wallet!) but alas it helped with managing my wire chaos that is my back panel(albeit "helped" is more of a "managed closer together meaning). The software has great lighting affects for the RGB(I have been switching between white and a rainbow effect that turns on and off the LEDS based on the music I'm listening too and its my new favorite feature when gaming at night-time! Much better features then Thermaltake rgb fans and controllers by far! Also the install hooking everything up was light years easier(I did experience a little trouble getting some connectors in but it all worked out with some persuasion)! (I have to add that the ICue software is VERY confusing and needs some QC with a customers view in mind, it's not "optimal" lol!). Setting a custom fan speed curve is a mess.. But I won't ding this controller for the software.

Absolutely trash product. Thoughout my pc building hobby, these have broken far more often that a lot of people will admit. I’ve bought 5 just for my personal pc, 3 being replacements. The ports are fragile and will break off, or the clip will bend into the commander itself and not really latch the fan at all. Tons of problems with icue.

Very useful if you want to just have 1 Fan/RGB hub

If you want to have 1 hub that can control both your RGB and control your fans via PWM this is the product. (Note: the commander core XT cannot change speeds of 3 pin DC fans, it can only run them at max speed.) You can connect 6 fans plus their RGB (corsair RGB only, but adapters do exist to convert standard 3 pin 5v to corsair connector) into just one device. No more having to run half the cables to the RGB hub, and the other one to your fan hub or motherboard. It also has a usb pass through on the USB 2.0 internal connector port there is another connector along the cord so you can plug in another controller and just use 1 USB port. It can also do the function of a lightning node pro via the rgb expansion port on the side. They even give you two temperature probes you can use to play around with monitoring your temperatures. (Can monitor case ambient temperature, or monitor vrm temperatures for example.) ITS ALSO MAGNETIC so you don’t need to use 3m adhesive, but they do include 3m so if you prefer to mount it that way you can. This product is great. I already have the elite capellix 150i all in one cooler that came with essentially this product but modified to connect to the pump, and missing the temp sensor ports, and the extra rgb expansion port. Corsair themselves said they actually took the exact controller that comes with the all in one water cooler, removed the COM port for the pump, and add those extra ports. The last port on this device is labeled ID and corsair has said they reserved this port for future expansion. I’m not exactly sure what they have in mind, but its nice to know that they have the ability to release an update and give the commander core XT even more functionality. This makes more sense than even the commander pro if you just want to connect up to 6 fans and their RGB and be able to control them all from 1 hub. Commander pro is designed more for connecting other existing corsair controllers to it, while this is designed to be the one stop shop solution for all your fan needs. Glad this came out just a few weeks ago when as that was when I was looking for something exactly like this.

    Corsair Fan Controller

The Commander Core XT made my RGB installation a breeze. Of course, it's made for Corsair RGB fans. One side is for power and the other for RGB and it's all clearly labeled. Be aware that Corsair uses a proprietary connector. The controller handles six fans. With an adapter cable from Amazon I was able to connect my Lian Li Strimer cables which use a non-Corsair connector. The device uses Corsair's iCUE software to handle RGB modes and fan speed controls. Finally, the CCXT comes with two thermal sensors to monitor internal computer temps. The device can attach magnetically to the case.

I purchased this item after realizing that the controller that came with fans I bought didn’t control both the rgb lighting and the cooling. The installation of this controller was very easy. Took a little time for cable management after installing but that’s expected. This controller along with the iCUE app make it a breeze to control your cooling needs and the rgb lighting for not only your fans but for other rgb devices installed in your pc. I’m extremely pleased with this product and highly recommend it.

My wife bought me the 4000D case i had my eye on, with my set up having 6 fans total the core that my case came with couldn’t accommodate all the plugs. I picked up the commander core and this made everything significantly easier to manage, its magnetic so it stuck onto my new case and made getting all my fans hooked up a cinch. It connects via a single 4 prong plug and everything runs beautifully with the iCue software, I love the way my rig looks now.

The smart RGB lighting adds a vibrant touch, and the fan speed control keeps my system cool and quiet. Setting it up was a breeze, thanks to the intuitive interface. A must-have for any PC enthusiast seeking both style and functionality.

I use lian fans and i wanted more overall control of my fans and wanted to properly control the rgb without the dumb fps limit that Lian Li rgb fans have with its controller. Also can be used for fan control and future builds. Huge so unless you have like 15 fans then you are set!!

Finally a genius device! I was able to connect my 6 corsair LL RGB fans to this controller, and connect this to a USB port in MOBO. Lastly, I was easily able to connect the Corsair Capellix controller directly to a second USB port in MOBO. Easy! This XT is the BEST. Easy to use. Way better than previous Gen. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!

Took me a little bit to connect everything where it needed to go, but once I understood which wires needed to go where it was fairly straightforward. Hardest part was lining all the wires through my motherboard and whatnot. Overall very kool and super useful.

This works great! I purchased this for my new build which includes 5 Corsair RGB fans in a Lian Li Vision compact case. The Commander Core was recognized by the ICUE app, and I can adjust fan speeds and fan RGB with no issue. I recommend this if you want to control Corsair RGB fans,

This controller couple with the Corsair fans is great! This controller allows you to have control over you fans via iCUE software, making it a bit simpler than going into bios. Installation was really easy and my tower had a perfect spot for this to sit without any zipties as it is magnetic.

Controls 6 corsair fans for speed and RGB. Provides ports fir thermocouples and additional RGB lighting strips. The attached female USB 2.0 connector attaches to the motherboard, but this controller has a great design feature in that it provides another male header to passthrough to the motherboard. In efffect, it doesn’t use up one of the usb headers so you can add this even if your motherboard headers are all currently in use.
