These things are completely unnecessary and I would buy them again in a second. I have dark walls and my desk is not right up against the wall, so the towers only really work when facing me. The number of effects you can program by making layers in iCue is incredible. If you're nuts about lights and want to add some flair to your space, these will definitely do it.

Add some light to your setup

So I like things that light up. I am unapologetically a fan of all of the RGB stuff. My keyboard, my case, my fans, my mouse, my graphics card, all of it lights up. So when I found out about the Corsair Light Towers I was only more than happy to get them and add even more RGB to my setup and I will say they do not disappoint. First, the construction is top notch. The towers and bases themselves are metal, which was wholly unexpected. With the prevalence of plastic in everything these days, to find something constructed well with a nice powder coat finish was a very pleasant surprise. They have some heft to them because they are metal, which means they dont tip over easily, which is good considering they are designed to also hold a headset. Honestly, I was just very happy overall with the construction. The one downside I do have about them is that they are required to be connected together with a proprietary cable, and the cable is not terribly long. It seems like they should have given the option to connect them together with something more standard to allow for a more diverse setup, whether the towers could both be USB or attached together via a USB cable, that would have really increased the versatility. A last note is that these come with a hook to allow you to hang your headphones from them which gives them a little bit of utility on top of just looking pretty. Next the configuration and use... These use the Corsair iCUE software as does so many of Corsair's offerings. When connected you go through a simple setup process which detects how many towers you have (which seems to be 1 or 2, if you have more than one set you'd likely just consume another USB port on your machine as there's no way to daisy chain more than one pair together). You are then given a number of options for lighting configuration, these can be controlled by scenes which can sync with other iCUE controlled devices, or even given a default look if scenes are disabled. There's a significant number of configuration options to really give the look you want and to sync with and augment your existing lighting setup. Overall I'm thrilled with them, they add even more RGB lighting to my already excessive setup, they look great when streaming and they are easy to configure and control. I would heartily recommend them to anyone in the market to add some light to their life.

INITIAL IMPRESSIONS & SET-UP Initial unboxing and impressions of the Corsair Light Towers is impressive. The towers and stands appear to be very well made. The towers are slender and have a nice, substantial heft to them. The bases are equally appealing and appear to be made from aluminum. The towers snap into the bases and are held in place by 2 expanding pieces of plastic. Once together, the set is held together tightly and feels very robust and expensive. As with other Corsair products, the towers are controlled by the Corsair iCue software. I find that the software consumes roughly 2 – 3%, on average, of the CPU resources on my i7-9700 based gaming computer. Even so, I would rather use the Corsair iCue software over the Logitech GHub software. I also find the iCue software a breath of fresh air compared to the Razer Synapse software. The iCue is no where near a burden on my system as the Synapse software and offers way more functionality and customization options. If you are reading this review trying to figure out the purpose of the Light Towers, let me tell you, they really serve no purpose other than offering a cool light show. Yes, Corsair does include a plastic clip that affixes to the top of one of the towers to hold your headphones, but really, they just offer up bling to your workstation or gaming rig. This isn’t a knock against the product. They won me over after powering them up. USE Corsair’s iCue software has several different lighting presets built in. With the software, you can sync the light towers to your other Corsair peripherals, or customize each peripheral to your liking, making each Corsair product unique. One thing that the iCue software has over many of its competitors is the ability of the software to read sensor information of your system’s motherboard. You can customize the software to report back on numerous different parameters in your system. For example, the iCue software installed on my HP Omen desktop read sensors for my motherboard temp, CPU load and temp, GPU load, temp, and fan speed, and my memory information and current performance levels and settings. The iCue software is feature rich and very powerful. Because I already owned a Corsair keyboard and mouse, the iCue software identified them along with the light towers and I was able to sync all my lighting within a minute or two. I also like to keep an eye on my systems’ vitals while working and gaming. So, I was able to configure the iCue software to display current CPU temps on my mouse. The temperature reporting ranges are fully adjustable, and I have the iCue software monitor my CPU’s temp and report back via a red, yellow, or green indicator on my mouse. Sweet!! I never have to worry about vitals during even the most demanding gaming sessions. FINAL THOUGHTS I consider myself, for the lack of a better word, a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to PC’s. If the product doesn’t improve functionality, it isn’t worth it. I’ve never been a bells and whistles person, always choosing function over form. I justified these light towers as being able to use them as a static-colored light for working or gaming in the evening (and you can set them as a single, static color for task lighting). After opening the packaging and seeing the quality construction, I was impressed. But, after getting them configured with the iCue software and taking them for a spin, I was won over. No Bells and Whistles for me was impressed. I was thoroughly enjoying the light show. The towers are entertaining, and software and games can override personal settings and help create a bit of ambience with their lighting effects as you game. Super cool!! If you are looking for a way to liven up your gaming rig or even just need something to cast some additional task lighting on your desk while working, these Corsair LT100 Light Towers should be on your short list of options. The colors are vibrant and the LED’s are bright. Whether you purchase them for fun or function, they are easy to recommend.

Accent Lighting for your Battle Station

The Corsair Light Towers are a stylish lighting accent that are a perfect companion for all your case LEDs and fans. The best part is that they’re all controlled via Corsair’s iCUE software, which is also compatible with other makes and mfgs like Asus ROG, and Nvidia Founders Edition hardware so you don’t have to run multiple controller softwares. This also allows you to easily sync lighting patterns and colors with the rest of your hardware including these lighting towers. I took off a star for a few reasons. The main one is that the cable that connects the t I towers is a bit short. This is a problem for Ultrawide monitors or multi-monitor setups. I run a 3840x1600 38” Ultrawide for my main monitor along with 2 companion side 27” monitors and the cable is roughly 4ft which means it barely fits even the 38” width. I will most likely need to just set the lights behind the monitor and use them for ambient rather than direct lighting. The second issue I had was because I installed the towers while my PC was on, the lights just flickered and turned dark. I had to set the light pattern in the iCUE software to get the lights to work. The button on the control tower doesn’t actually control anything while the PC is powered on, it only controls the presets when the PC is off. Also, the headset holder is kind of useless to me since I have to use it behind my monitor but I was hoping to use it to hang my headphones. It’s kind of flimsy anyway, just a piece of plastic with tape to hold it on the top of the tower. Overall the towers are well built and the light strips look great, but my main gripe is with the cable length that connects the two towers. Still, this is a great way to add additional lighting to your gaming rig!!!

Ideal Ambient Lighting Towers for Gaming Setup

Corsair iCUE LT100 is a wonderful addition to any gaming setup with its diffused ambient RGB lighting. This model is a starter kit and includes everything you need to setup in the box. Includes 2 lighting towers with removable base, plastic headset holder with 3M adhesive tape, Micro-USB cable, power adapter and connector cable. Setting up is straightforward and simple. Insert the towers into the base aligning the slots, connect the cables (micro-USB, RGB connector cable and power adapter). Once connected, only the light (main unit) will power up until the iCUE application is configured on the system. Base has the LED lights at the bottom and there is a switch on the primary base for switching between preset lighting without the need of software access. You can add another light by purchasing the expansion kit, but you will need this starter kit to get started. Purchasing expansion kit or one light will not work without the primary base unit. The tower that attaches to the base by 8-pin connector and the best part is its reversible. You can change the orientation of the lights according to your preference either facing backwards towards wall or towards your front. Lights are built to last and both tower and base are solid aluminum powder coated black finish. Base is sturdy and has good weight to it. Only con is the headset holder that attaches to the tower is plastic and does the job of holding the headphones and prefer same aluminum for lasting durability and stability. Light customization can only be achieved using the iCUE software. Once connected, it shows up as LT100 starter kit in the app. You have different options like lighting setup, lighting effects, hardware lighting and device settings. You can update the firmware and brightness in the device settings. Just run the wizard in the lighting setup and the led detection process will begin and detect the Towers. You will have option to rearrange the towers by drag and drop according to your orientation and preference. Hardware Lighting has various presets like SuperX, Rainbow wave, Rainbow, Color Shift, Color Pulse, Color Wave, Sequential, Strobing, Visor, Marquee, Temperature. You also have option to customize static colors and change the speed of lighting. With 46 LEDS on the tower and base, brightness at 100% when set properly provides adequate ambient lighting to the gaming setup. Overall, this light tower is designed for gamers in mind and performs as designed and expected for ambient lighting for gaming setup with few cons like plastic headset holder, shorter(1.5meters) cable length, flimsy cable pin connector.

Just like the title says, do it for the fun of it! (If you can find them) There are things in life that you do solely because they bring you joy. This is exactly the case here. The towers won't make you a better player or affect the performance of your gaming setup. What they do is make you happy by enhancing the mood of your surroundings while gaming. You open the box to inspect the contents and find all you need to get up and running in a few minutes. Download the Corsair iCue software and then you have infinite customization of your lighting. The setup was very simple, plop the towers onto their bases, connect the cables, including the power adapter, find an open USB port and you're in business! I have had so much fun letting the software control the towers and every time is a new experience. My only complaint is very minor and shouldn't affect your decision: the headset holder is a plastic piece that fits on top of one of the towers but depending on where you place the towers, you might not have access to it, and it tends to pop out if you accidentally hit the tower. For example, I placed my towers behind the monitors to have indirect lighting that doesn't distract from the action on the screen(s), so having the headset holder on one of the towers just doesn't work... I've also gotten many compliments from the few people who have seen my gaming station. So if you find a set, buy it! You won't regret it.

    Light Up Your Game Night

--- SETUP --- The setup for the CORSAIR Lighting Towers was quick. An instruction manual is included but it is all text, no images. Regardless, you can figure out what goes connected where. The included micro USB is for updating and further customizing the lights but not necessary for basic functions. --- FEATURES --- 92 RGB LED lights, customizable through a PC and iCUE app, 11 lighting profiles, customize more through app, headset holder, and syncs with other CORSAIR iCUE lights. --- PERFORMANCE --- Out of the box, the lights are alluring. I plugged everything in and turned on the lights. Immediately, they start with a showcase of what’s possible. Since there is a cable that connects the main tower to the second one, the lights sync up and will either move at the same pace or form a pattern that transfers from one tower to the next with fluidity. Overall, it does set a nice mood for a gaming room. --- EXPECTATIONS --- I plugged in the USB cable and downloaded the software iCUE. This allowed me to quickly look at the existing patterns, create patterns, and generally update the towers. There is no need to keep the towers permanently plugged into your PC unless you want to sync up with other CORSAIR devices. --- APPROVAL --- I honestly expected to like these towers, but I didn’t expect to love them as much as I do. This would make a great gift to gamers everywhere regardless of whether they game on PC (preferably) or console.

These completed my desk setup! Everything I have is RGB..mouse..keyboard..even mousepad, and now with these towers it's a full eye piece! They're super bright, well made and have multiple cycles you can choose from. When you download the software it gives you even more presets. So quality! There's nothing cheap or plasticy about these. All black matte aluminum casing on both the bases and towers. Even the white cover that the LED's shine through is a thick white gel feeling material not some thin white plastic like most would use. The bases are etched and polished on the edges giving them an even more classy look. One of the things I also was elated over was the fact that not just the towers light up but the bases do as well around the bottom! I wish we could upload video to get the full effect. Setting these up are very simple. Everything is self explanatory plug and play. You have one cable that goes from one tower the other so they're synced and do the same thing at the same time. It has a usb to plug into your pc so it syncs with that as well. Especially if you want them to react to music. Definitely my favorite addition to my computer setup! Would highly recommend it to others

    Level Up Your Area

Lighting for any room is important. Whether you’re looking to amplify your gaming space or you are looking to set a visual mood for a room that you simply escape to. The lighting can make or break the experience. I already owned some LED light strips that provided some highlights to my gaming area but never made anything “pop”. And then I saw the i-Cue LT Smart Lighting and just knew that these were something that my gaming room needed. Set Up and Customization: Right out of the box, the two lighting towers are ready to be pushed into their bases, connected, and then plugged into an outlet. With the press of a single button, both towers light up with an exquisite array of light patterns. There are several patterns that you can choose from out of the box. However, you can go to the Corsair website, download the app that allows you to customize your pattern that fits your room ‘motif’ if you desire. There are some seriously fun options that you can tinker with including syncing the towers with your PC. Add that POP to your area: With some LED room lights, they can be distracting. I have my two iCue Towers on each side of my television and their subtle light allows me to enjoy my games and whatever show/movie that I may watch. This is important because when I am gaming, I cannot be distracted. And if you’re a live streamer that wants to add some visual presence to your backdrop for your viewers, then these towers are going to deliver. Room to Expand: You can also easily add more towers if you want to explore that option down the road. I am anxious to add more towers to create a fantastic show of customized light patterns. I genuinely recommend these for everyone that is looking to customize their workspace, theater room, or gaming room.

I've used responsive ambient lighting before but never with Corsair. I had given up on them about a year ago because they all broke G-Sync. I'm happy to say that iCue doesn't break G-Sync any more. So back into ambient lighting I go! I'm not a fan of lots of light on cases or anything that doesn't serve a real function. All it is to me is just light pollution. Ambient light falls into the function category. It brings more immersion to your gaming. The Corsair LT100 delivers! What makes the LT100's different than my other set ups is that each light single LED on the towers can represent a different region on your monitor. You can seriously just pic one LED to react to a certain spot. Using the entire tower turns the bars into a low res mirror of what's on your screen at the designated area. You can see the bars of your Explorer windows as you drag it around. The lights have more life than other reactive lighting. The downsides is that they're too bright when front facing and too dim when facing a wall. I prefer the wall since it's less distracting. I'll probably end up getting the light strips or another set of LT100's to increase the light output to where I like it. The biggest hit was that iCue wrecked my monitor calibration. Whatever it did is making it hard to restore my calibration. I created a profile using an i1 pro2 and now I can't use it. I'll have to do more digging but have to tolerate these nasty colors until I find out the problem. Even then it's hard not to make this five stars. Putting you in the game with "live" lighting is a big hit for me.

I recently purchased the Corsair MM800 RGB Mousepad and after experiencing it, I decided to check out what other RGB computer accessories Corsair made and came across the LT100. Setup was straightforward without even reading the manual and connection to Corsair's iCUE software was seamless. Overall, the lighting effects are great but this is quite pricey for some RGB lighting and nothing else.

Good quality and well made for what it is. I will say the price is way to high for this by far. Maybe $69.96 tops and it would be well worth it. Overall though they are bright enough if you game in a dark room, but not ideal for brighter rooms. As people have stated they use metal for the frame so it will hold up to the test of time.

These are awsome RGB Lights with multiple lighting options with the ICUE software They are of high quality metal for both the base and tower except for the light strips. I purchase other RGB Tower lights made of cheap plastic that do not stand up to corsair. These are a great way to add more color to your desk. They work great when sync’d with other Corsair RGB products since they all use the iCUE software to display a color pattern. If you have the space, these come with a headphone hook in case you need a place to hang a pair of headphones.
