Whose software is worse? Razer or Corsair?

Hall Effect keyboards are freaking cool! Back in the olden days when keyboards were all mechanical switches we had the option of swapping switches when you want a different “feel” for your keyboard, seeing that come back and mechanical keyboard in a big way has been incredible, but technology stops for nothing and we have finally come close to realizing the perfect keyboard for a vast majority of people.
Hall Effect Keyboards are mechanical switches that act like analog dials. Basically think of the difference between the micro switch on an old arcade cabinet control panel, vs say a Hall effect trigger on a ps5 controller. On a keyswitch this allows you to change how the keyboard feels with a simple software tweak.
So here’s the good:
Want to try typing as fast as you can? Crank the activation height as high as you feel comfortable and let your fingers dance across the keyboard where the lightest touch will activate the key, or say you’re playing an rts game, where mistype could mean the difference between a macro that does 6+ actions or opening the wrong menu. Crank that actuation height nice and low you really have to press keys for them to activate, it’s an incredible gaming keyboard coupled with the implementation of SOCD or “snap tap”, ultimately the keyboard presents a compelling package, however there’s the catch.
The bad.
Corsair software; honestly, if you can’t google the issues with Corsair iCUE et al, I won’t color your opinion, compared to other brands HyperX and Logitech have lighter software, but iCUE also supports rgb control and other cool features, so it’s a trade off.
But its biggest sin that detracts the most is, the keyboard doesn’t exclusively have HE switches?! The main keys are, but the f row etc are all regular switches. At least when you go with literally any other brand at least you get all the switches you paid for…
Finally it’s not hotswappable?! in this day and age?!
Ultimately, if you’re satisfied with the keyboard hardware, which is decent, and can handle the software, it’s a decent purchase on sale. It’s cheaper than the Razer competitor, either at the same price or higher. However, I recommend going with Razer because the hardware quality is slightly better, and you’ll get all the switches you paid for. If you prefer Hall effect switches and want more control over customization, the Keychron K2 HE is about $70 cheaper, and all the keys are Hall effect as well.
Overall, this isn’t a “bad” keyboard, but more of a “why does this exist” when it’s just the Razer Huntsman but worse? They fill the same niche, and they both have their own brand of nonsense. So choose your brand of nonsense and go forth and argue online, I guess.

I'm the type of person who plays games extensively and competitively. My choice of games is FPS, so what I look for in a gaming keyboard might be different from you. I choose to look at input lag, actuation points, and responsiveness. All three aspects of this keyboard are simply amazing, and I'll continue to speak about it in depth.
I've had good boards and I've had bad boards. The K70 PRO TKL is a board where I really don't feel any input lag coming from it. What helps it a lot is actually the actuation points on the keys. Within Corsair's ICUE software, you're able to set each individual key's actuation point. If you're unaware of what an actuation point is, it is the distance in which they key must travel in order for the switch to activate. I have my "A" and my "D" key (my strafe keys) set to an actuation of 0.6mm. This isn't as low as it can go. If I wanted to I could set it even lower, but that's too much for me. This feels perfectly responsive for me, and I've honestly never felt more "in sync" with the keyboard. Finally is the responsiveness. I've had experience with magnetic switches before, and I've run into the issue with a few of them, where upon entering a keystroke, nothing happens. I'm sure that you can see how that would be an issue in games where every split second counts. I've thankfully had ZERO experiences with that happening on the PRO TKL.
Overall this has been an amazing keyboard to use. The ICUE software is a bit confusing to figure out at first, but other than that the keyboard is stellar. I'm easily more competitive now than I used to be, and you can be the same by picking up this board.

Great HE keyboard! I am fully in the Corsair ecosystem so I was waiting on getting into HE keyboards so I didn’t need to install yet another piece of software.
Icue for me has never been much of an issue, setup is easy and to set up the HE switches to your liking is simple through the use of sliders and visual aids.
Good dampening in the keyboard so even HE switches sound decent, I was not expecting that. It’s nothing like an enthusiast keyboard but it sounds great compared to many other gamer keyboards.
My only complaint is that not all switches are HE. Arrow keys and F1 are not HE… and honestly I don’t think there is a need for them to be. But, it’s a factor.
All the alpha and modifiers are HE and can be swapped.
Awesome RGB as always from Corsair.
Knob is customizable and can do many other things, excellent feel and great feedback.

Been using a variety of keyboards recently for my gaming rig and this Corsair one has been a really nice addition so far.
For most people, a keyboard is a keyboard. There are some differences or features that are better than some but, mostly, any keyboard will do. However, for gaming, we sometimes need that little bit extra to max out performance and usability and this K70 Pro satisfies a lot of that for gamers.
As usual, the RGB goodness is there. With the iCue software, you can trick out the RGB to your hearts content.
What makes this keyboard stand out is the Hall effect keys and the ability to customize the keys to your specific needs. With most keyboards, there is a set threshold that activates the keys or registers the key press. With this keyboard, you can customize the length the keys travel in order to activate the key press. Might not sound like much but, for gaming, this enables you to get the millisecond drop on your enemy. You also have the ability to have a single keystroke perform two actions as well. For FPS games, this is huge and a greatly added feature to the keyboard.

This keyboard is great. It's not very loud. The response is great when gaming. And now I have a lot more space on my desk. I haven't fully explored the Hall Effect since it's the first time I own one with it.

Corsair, you beautiful people, you have done it again. (Art, I know you're going to see this eventually, thanks for your help with my previous issues with my K65 and HS80 Max on reddit, much love.)
This keyboard is absolutely amazing compared to the one I have now, which is technically considered a downgrade going from a K100 to this one, but not for me. The HE switches are absolutely an amazing choice for this keyboard, and the feature that I was excited for the most, RAPID TRIGGER. Sure, Corsair is a few months late to the rapid trigger party but implementing it into a keyboard is still a huge win in my books. I mainly play rhythm games, so having the ability to press down the key and actuate it without having to lift it up fully to deactivate the key is a huge advantage. Not to forget, you can also customize the actuation distance for the keys to as little as 0.1mm. I personally do not recommend this for normal usage, but instead- use the game mode toggle (This is the purple button on the first preview image.) By toggling game mode, it automatically enables rapid trigger, sets the actuation distance of all HE keys to 0.1mm, sets the keyboard response speed to 8,000hz, and disables the windows key. All of this you can customize to your preference in the iCUE app. Another nice touch is the little lighting animation that plays when enabling and disabling game mode, you can also customize the static color that is forced on to help prioritize performance of the keyboard. The included wrist cushion is also extremely comfortable and attaches to the keyboard magnetically instead of how the previous K70 models used to have to be snapped in, which took some force let me tell you.
I only have two small complaints and that's simply why isn't every key HE switches, and why isn't the build all metal instead of half plastic on the bottom half. The missing HE switches aren't that big of a deal because the only non-HE switches keys are your function keys and working keys (ins, pg up, etc.)
Other than that, this keyboard is definitely going to be the one I hold onto for years to come.

Its magnetic switches are wonderful. The weight is decent and TKL offers more room for typing. There's a useful volume/programmable knob; I'm still waiting for a keyboard maker to make it even taller for easier grip. And phew! Its key caps let light shine through!
But not having researched this item before buying it in-store, I asked my sales rep if it was wireless. he told me it was. It is not. There's also a software loading time to get the unit to light up the way I prefer it, despite that _not_ having to be the case? Goodness, that iCUE software certainly _feels_ bloated.

This is has become my favorite keyboard to date and I might actually have a break down the day it quits. The media keys and dial are wonderful and there’s enough of a tactile feed back from the switches that my fingers don’t just feel like they’re sinking.

Great Keyboard for FPS games. Lighting fast 4000kHz inputs with a decent build quality for a main stream pre-build board. “ doesn’t thock but very close”! Only down fall is Corsair ICUE but it does have built in memory so the software is optional.

Would only pick up if its on sale. Though the wrist pad that it comes with is very comfty. The software is pretty easy to use and understand. Its a good "budget" tkl keyboard. Though for an extra $30-$50 get the steel seeries tkl pro apex gen 3. The keyboard feels much better to type up, comes with a screen, and overall is a better typing/gaming expierence. Also the k70 for when i had it the space bar was very flimsy. Dont know if thats just how it is or if i just had bought one that just had a improper space bar.

Very good keyboard.
Pros:
Excellent analog performance for the price. I like the adjustable key actuation and color customization. The iCue software is required however.
Cons:
I've had a couple instances of disconnects. One time certain bottom row keys did not work. Another time the keyboard did not work when starting up my computer. Disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard worked both times but its a slight hamper on an otherwise good keyboard.

This keyboard slaps and I would 100% buy it again. Good feel, good lubrication, no issues. Software is not intuitive and is a little busy but in my opinion is only needed in specific use cases.
