This excellent gaming keyboard occupies the middle ground that lies between a full-size and compact keyboard. If you have a space challenged situation this keyboard occupies the middle between the previously mentioned small or large keyboard. This keyboard is also a good choice for people who do not want or need a traditional numeric ten key pad. Typing on this keyboard is an absolute pleasure so this keyboard is also a good (albeit expensive) option for non gamers that want a high performance illuminated keyboard. This is my second Corsair K70 Pro gaming keyboard so I am very familiar with the line and ICUE App. Once downloaded iCUE will Download the APP and it will allow you to control and customize the keyboard as well as keep the keyboard firmware updated. The App is quite intuitive and makes customizing the keys and illumination simple. The illumination can be set to various presets or customized nearly infinitely within the possible RGB spectrum. I prefer to cycle through the presets until I find one I like. The illumination itself is solid and striking. I love the look when it is in use and at rest. What makes this keyboard distinctive is the unique MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches. I was not familiar with this style of switch, so I was very excited to give this keyboard a try. I found the response speed to be lightning fast and hard core gamers will not be disappointed with the speed. Whether one prefers magnetic switches to the other switch types will be a matter of personal preference. I tested this keyboard with some of my favorite PC games, and was very satisfied with the experience. I believe that hard core gamers will certainly not be disappointed. I do not have the ability to measure the key press speed, but I can confirm that the response speed is very fast. Using this keyboard is an absolute pleasure. Operation is precise and commands are transmitted instantly. It is solidly constructed and has a noticeable bulk that speaks to its quality and durability. It is much heavier than a standard plastic keyboard. I especially like the Corsair logo on the bottom of the keyboard, even though it doesn't show. Included in the box is a quality USB-C to A cable. Also included is a soft and comfortable magnetic wrist rest. It is described as quiet and I found that to be accurate, for a mechanical keyboard. This is due to 2 layers of internal foam that creates noise dampening. I especially like the multi function rotary dial. I am using it to control volume. It is easy to find and I like being able to instantly adjust the sound up or down. It is branded as being compatible with PC, Mac, Xbox, and PlayStation. The gaming performance of this keyboard is off the charts good! The Corsair K70 PRO is one of the best performing gaming keyboards out there. This keyboard offers excellent LED lighting and looks especially nice in low light. If you need the best that money can buy, then you can't go wrong by selecting it. It is well with the money, and will not disappoint.

I like the TKL design for gaming. It has what I need for gaming and allows more room on my desk. While a Windows keyboard, you can also connect it to an Xbox or a PlayStation. This is easy to do as the keyboard connects with a USB-C port on the back of it, making it easy to disconnect without have to unplug a cable from behind a tower under a desk. You just need another cable for the console. The rubber feet at the bottom of the keyboard help keep it in place. The back feet can be raised to change the angle. The K70 comes with a padded wrist rest that connects to the keyboard via magnets on one side, which I really like. If you prefer to have some space or be angled, just turn it around. The keyboard is attractive; the top of the keyboard is aluminum which looks good, helps add rigidity and some weight. The bottom and sides, however, are plastic. At nearly $200, I’d expect a metal bottom to add more weight and decrease flex further when I’m hammering on the keys. The keyboard did slide a bit on me during some ‘spirited’ gaming sessions. The MGX Hyperdrive v2 linear magnetic switches with hall effect sensors are velvety smooth and very responsive. Better than any other Corsair keyboard I used. The actuation point can be adjusted on each key from 0.1mm to 4.0mm to meet your preferred stroke length for different uses. You can swap key caps, but not the switches themselves. They are soldered on. There is a “Game Mode” button that decreases the actuation to 0.1mm, enables a custom polling rate up to 8000Hz (the default is 1,000Hz) and turns the LEDs to a static color you can set in iCUE. The rotary knob can be assigned any function in iCUE, volume is the default. I much prefer a knob to pressing keys numerous times to get the volume where I want, it’s an instant adjustment and analouge feels more natural on some functions. The RGB keyboard lighting is really good. The characters on the keycaps and knobs light up and are backlit as well. If the sixteen lighting preset modes within iCUE are not to your liking, you can customize the lighting effects within iCUE. The iCUE software offers lots of customization. It’s a lot to go through at first and takes a bit to learn and get used to. Some minor pain points are the iCUE software is a lot to absorb and takes time to go through it all. A victim of so much customization. At this price, one expects a full metal case, not a plastic base that can flex. Serviceability is not as good as other keyboards. The switches are not user replaceable. When one goes dead, you can’t swap it with one from a seldom used key to get by while waiting for a replacement, if a replacement is available. You will need to send it in for repair, which likely only makes sense when it’s under warranty. Overall, there is a lot to like. Excellent RGB lighting, super smooth switches, a multi-function volume knob that can be assigned to other functions if desired, a comfortable wrist rest that can attach to the keyboard by magnets, or not. And a ton of customization via the iCUE software. Most people will be very happy with this keyboard. I find it performs really well and plan to get lots of use out of it. But at this price point, there are several other keyboards to pick from. Some of which I’ve used have features I overall like a bit better. None are a blowout winner over the K70, just minor preferences.

The package was well protected during shipping. The out of box experience was straightforward and easy. Opening the box gets you the keyboard and the USB cable. Once those are out, lift up the flap and there is the wrist pad. First impressions when you lift it out - SOLID. This thing is VERY well made. I've got a few gaming keyboards and once you get into a better level of them, this is what you expect to feel, and this one is right there with the others I have for my gaming laptop. And it's straightforward. No frills physically. My others are a combination of wired and wireless. This one, on the outside, is about the most simple looking one. Game mode settings - I like this, a fast single button press that you can customize to kill the things you do NOT want to happen while gaming. Kill the windows key, enable or disable rapid trigger, force a static color if you had an active pattern in normal mode. You can even customize it to disable the alt+tab, alt+F4, and even the shift+tab, though that may or may not be something people will use, if they're gaming on Steam. But all the common combinations that can wreak havoc on a gamer can be disabled with that single button press. And when you're done gaming, just press it again, and you are back to normal windows functionality. You can modify the control dial to be volume and mute, or even horizontal scrolling, vertical scrolling, or zoom. And this is handy since this is so easily accessible on the top right, so you can move there without looking and without having it be a muscle memory position like the normal keyboard layout is. Remapping keys is straight forward as well, with plenty of options to remap a different key as text, or as media transport, launching specific apps, or macros. I like that you can limit lighting effects to specific keys as well, such as the WASD keys, arrow keys. Since you can layer assignments, you can really customize just how you want things to look. And in the iCue software, you can control+click on the keys to get exactly ONLY the keys you want included in your settings. It really is the ultimate in customization. But I've had issues with the iCue software in the past. I have one of the newer RGB gaming mice and it was a hot mess trying to get the color settings to actually apply. Fortunately, so far, I've had no issues at all with this keyboard and the software. It has been consistent. I do a variety of gaming, but really spend a lot of time in first person shooters. And this performed as well as I expected it to. I'm still playing with the actuation points though, since this is an option I've not had with my other keyboards. This is my first hall effect keyboard, so this aspect of customization is new to me. And I really can see how it would make a serious difference once it's set just the way a person wants it. It's actually a bit funny just how screwed up I made my movement when I first started playing with this setting. Having the keys actuate when you just barely touched them makes things seriously touchy and twitchy. But again, as I start getting this really tweaked for my gameplay, I can see a few keys where that is going to be a bit of magic in my gameplay. And after a few weeks, while I'm still not completely done trying to make it just perfect for me, the fact that I CAN alter these settings that I've never been able to alter on a keyboard before still has me smiling. I've got it NEARLY perfected for me. It was easy to fall in love with this as I tweaked settings and found JUST the right points for the keys I use when gaming. And the fact that it has onboard memory and can store profiles makes it that much better for people with others in the house. Before my kid graduated and moved out, the profile option would've been a lifesaver for me, as he had a habit of messing up things after I had them just how I wanted them. The palm rest is alright. I initially liked the concept of it being magnetic, but the magnets are really weak, so depending on the surface I have this on, it's often more useless than useful with not staying in place. But when it works, it's comfortable without being too squishy, has a decent amount of support. If you're playing with something like a table as the surface, you should be in good shape. And the palm rest weak magnets is about the only thing I could find to complain about so far. As I said, I've only been using it for two or three weeks, but I just LOVE the solidity of it. The downside of the wire requirement may be an issue for some people depending on their gaming rig and how many USB ports they have available. I've got a 2024 ROG Strix and so for what I need when gaming, it's not an issue, I've got enough ports. Already started recommending this to others I game with. I absolutely love the ability to tweak the keys to this degree. My movement in my FPS games is notably improved over the other gaming keyboards I had simply since I can set where the keys actuate. Took some time and a lot of accidental deaths, but once you're dialed in, it really helps.

The Corsair K70 Pro TKL is a programmable keyboard that looks and "clicks" great. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything on the package or instructions that mentions the need to install the ICUE app. I found a QR code on the box that links to ICUE but I had no idea what this was or if I needed it. Hint: you need to download/install the ICUE program so that you can enjoy the full benefits of the keyboard! The ICUE app monitors your CPU performance and allows you to customize the lighting effects, key assignments - cool features once I found out I needed it! You can also use this same app to customize settings for your Corsair mouse (if you have one). The keyboard itself has a nice, heavy feel to it and rubber feet so you're not worried about it sliding around on your desk. It also comes with a padded palm rest which attaches magnetically to the front edge of the keyboard, making it real comfortable during hours of gaming (or just typing). The keys are sturdy and have a nice "click" to them, yet the keyboard itself is designed with multiple layers of silicone to make everything smooth and quiet, They're even tested to 150 million clicks ensuring a long life! Within the ICUE software, you can calibrate the actuation points of individual keys, create macros, enable rapid trigger, and even assign multiple actions to the same key (walk/run). This is a wired keyboard, however the USC-USBC cable is so flexible and long that it feels like you're using a wireless keyboard. Did I mention the magnetic palm rest? It's worth mentioning again because it's so great. Overall it's a great keyboard, easy to install and use (once you install the software), and seems like it's built to last.

I really like this keyboard. A few things to consider: - The backlit keys allow the light to travel through the key caps - There is some bleed around the keys from the back lighting, this does not bother me, but some people may dislike it - Volume control knob is very smooth, you can also control other functions - The wrist rest is very comfortable, the magnetic attachments could be a little stronger - Key travel is quite comfortable, not too long and not too sensitive - iCue app is quite nice, once you get use to it The very few negatives: - I mentioned the light bleed around the key caps - iCue app has a slight learning curve - The alert lights for caps etc are in an odd place next to the esc key - This is not a 10 key keyboard, no number pad (Not knocking it, but throwing out for info) Overall this is really great for gaming or day to day work or class work. Key travel is smooth with just the right amount of resistance. There is a slight click to the keyboard for those who like clicky. It is a solid click not hollow like some keyboards produce. Also the clicky is not loud enough to annoy neighbors...much. Overall, fantastic keyboard. I am looking forward to finding a 10 key model if they ever come out.

The CORSAIR K70 PRO TKL Hall Effect Programmable Keyboard, is a great keyboard for both gaming and everyday use. The keyboard is visually nice looking and lights up. The light colors are programmable, so they can be customized to fit the users taste. It’s a good sized keyboard and feels nice and comfortable on both the fingers and the wrists. After many hours of use, there is no fatigue felt in the hands or fingers. When typing or playing games, the keys sound nice and have an easy bounce to them, so there is no sticking. They are also wobble-free to ensure accuracy and a fast strike. This makes game play easier and speedy. There is no latency and or delay when striking the keys. The rapid trigger makes your gaming faster by increasing the reaction time. This is due to the MGX Hyperdrive magnetic switches. The keyboard was easy to connect to the computer and set up was seemless. The app was also easy to connect and utilize immediately out of the box. Overall, this keyboard checks all the boxes. It’s customizable, nice looking, feels great and performs amazing with its fast reaction time. The ease of use is also a bonus. A great addition to a gaming setup.

The K70 PRO TKL is a wired, tenkeyless (TKL-no number pad), mechanical keyboard with RGB lighting. It has Corsair's premium MGX Hyperdrive pre-lubed magnetic switches with adjustable actuation points (you can adjust how far down you have to press the key to register the input). It's fully customizable using the Corsair iCue software, which is user friendly with how to tutorials. The more I used this keyboard, the more I liked it. It has a game mode, which optimizes settings for gaming, the polling rate default is 1000Hz (1 ms response time) and can be increased up to 8000Hz for an amazing 0.125 ms response time! The RGB lighting is fully customizable with layered lighting effects, zone lighting, and per key lighting. The text and symbols on the keycap's faces is translucent so the lighting shows through on the keycap faces. Keyboard functions are also per key customizable. The actuation point of the switches can be adjusted individually from .4mm to 3.6mm, and two actuation points can be set on a key. So, in gaming for example, set the actuation points for a shooting key at 1mm and 3mm, and as you depress the key you can fire off two shots instead of one. Great stuff! The keyboard has 2 foam sound dampening layers so it's about as quiet as possible and the keystrokes are light and smooth. The keyboard is compact, not bulky, but solid with two broad rubber cushioned feet to lift the back for a good angle. The switches are positioned on top of the base, not enclosed, so it adds a little to the lighting effects. A magnetic wrist pad and USB cable are included. I think Corsair got everything right about this keyboard. I couldn't find anything that I didn't like, and it has all the features I was looking for. With all the features and functionality this keyboard has, it's worth the premium price.

I find myself laughing at the absurdity of the level of detail this keyboard is capable of being tweaked to. It’s a keyboard, not a nuclear fusion device but you would never guess that from the amount of options available to tweak. Not that you have to change anything, but you could. Understand that I do not game for money, so the Pro features of this keyboard make me laugh more than they make me a better gamer. Reading through the user manual I would argue some of these are basically cheats and it makes me question why this level of customization is even allowed in gaming tournaments. Is it banned? It probably should be. After all, how fair would it be that this keyboard can have per-key actuation customized down to 0.1mm vs the other guy who is using the keyboard that came with his computer? This keyboard also supports a technology named Rapid Trigger, which in my gaming heyday is the equivalent of the Turbo switch on the NES Pro controller. Yes I am that old. Corsair claims the keyboard is good for up to 150 million keystrokes. In case you are wondering it would take the average officer worker working 8 hours a day on the keyboard about 51 years to hit that many keystrokes. Shockingly a professional gamer playing RTS or MOBA games is likely to hit that number in under 3 years. So perhaps pre-lubricated keys will make a difference to the wear and tear over time. Overall the look and feel of these keys is important if you are heading for the long-haul and I have to admit I love the feeling of typing on on this keyboard. A great many the other customizations are just geek eye candy. I was curious what Corsair considers “pro” about this keyboard and a few things stand out from the product technical specs. This keyboard has a report rate of 8,000 Hz compared with many of their other keyboards which have a report rate of 1,000 Hz. In case you are not aware, a higher number is better here as this value represents how often the keyboard is checking for new input. The weight of this keyboard is higher than the “not-Pro” models by a few grams. The final key difference I found is that this keyboard is using the Corsair MGX V2 which is a fancy term for a magnetic switch vs a mechanical switch. There’s an argument to be found online that magnetic switching is better suited for pro gamers where precise timing is crucial vs a mechanical switch which will feel more comfortable typing on but be less precise. Having spent a few weeks with both types of keyboards I do perceive a small difference in favor of gaming on this keyboard.

Corsair's K70 PRO TKL High-Performance is an excellent, highly programmable, ten-keyless gaming keyboard. Featuring per-key actuation customization allowing for rapid key presses and best of all programmable dual actuation. This feature allows you to set multiple key assignments on a single key, the example that Corsair gives is a slight key press makes your character walk, and a full press can make your character run. This takes advantage of both the key actuation where you set a secondary actuation point, and then you assign keystrokes to the two actuation points. These modes are then activated when you use the Game Mode button, this locks the Windows key (great for preventing accidental presses) and activates the actuation points and respective key assignments for those actuations. My only real complaint is Corsair's iCUE software, while it features extremely strong tools for customizing almost everything on your Corsair accessories, it is very unintuitive and annoying to use. It is very easy to end up messing up your assignment by just clicking in a space off the keyboard in the software, and you end up losing all the work that you just put in trying to customize your keyboard. I think some time needs to be put in by Corsair making sure that their software is more user friendly. I do appreciate that it is very powerful software allowing for near limitless customization of every key, light, and more of your keyboard I just wish it was more intuitive and easier to use without frustration. I would still highly recommend this keyboard to anyone looking for a highly customizable TKL gaming keyboard.

There are several versions of the Corsair K70 TKL, but the Pro is far and away the best version of this keyboard. The hall effect switches make this keyboard one of the most sensitive I've ever used, even faster than most optical switch keyboards I've used in the past. iCue offers near-infinite customization of the keys themselves, going beyond the typical RGB lighting to how far the keys need to be depressed in order to activate. The added bonus is these keys are incredibly quiet for a mechanical keyboard. The only thing that could have been better would be a cloth-covered USB-C cable, but it's otherwise about as perfect as a keyboard can get. Unboxing and setup: Just like with every other Corsair keyboard, your unboxing experience is definitely what I'd consider the new premium. An easy-open clam shell box, the keyboard wrapped in paper, a small box of accessories. The rubberized USB-C cable instead of a cloth-wrapped cable is a bit of a drawback in my opinion. it's the only part of this package that doesn't feel premium. Install iCue if you haven't done so already. It makes a difference on how well the keyboard works for you. Usage: As an everyday-usage keyboard, you get all the advantages of a mechanical keyboard but with a quietness you wouldn't expect. Most laptop and membrane keyboards are honestly louder unless you bang on the keys. This is definitely more than a quality gaming keyboard for gaming; this is a premium keyboard for everyday use. The iCue software is what it is. You can use it to set when the keys on the keyboard trigger, configure macros...and yes, adjust RGB for the keys. One really cool feature is 8000 Hz hyperpolling. Keep in mind that the system requirements for hyperpolling to work properly are particularly high - I had some problems with it on Windows 10 and a 4th gen i7, a few problems with Windows 11 and 12th gen i3, but my 8-core Ryzen systems (5700 X3D, 7800 X3D, and Lenovo Legion Z1 Extreme) had zero issues with input lag from too much input. Modern CPUs with 6 or more cores shouldn't have an issue with Hyperpolling mode. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with was the rubber keyboard cable. This is mostly a preference thing, however, and I prefer cloth-wrapped cables over rubber-coated cables, as they're easier to thread for cable management. However, that's not enough to draw back from a keyboard that's now in my top 5, only beat by legendary units from the 1980s and early 1990s. Corsair pretty much nailed it with the K70 Pro TKL with zero compromises. If you're looking for a mid-priced keyboard, this is it.

Very solid keyboard overall. The smallest actuation distance is 0.4mm which, while still very responsive, is relatively high compared to other brands such as Wooting that feature a 0.1mm actuation distance for a similar and sometimes lower price. The software feels a bit lacking, I was not able to find a way to translate the analog position of the keyboard to controller input like some other hall effect keyboard brands offer. It should be noted that NOT ALL OF THE SWITCHES ARE HALL EFFECT. The function row, arrow keys, and navigation keys (Insert, PageUp, Delete, etc.) are NOT hall effect but rather typical mechanical keys, which I wouldn’t expect on a keyboard from a brand of this size. The keys that are hall effect do seem incredibly responsive, and the “rapid trigger” is a game changer when it comes to quick, repeated actions on a single key, especially on competitive games such as Counter-Strike where each millisecond matters. Overall, it’s still a pretty solid keyboard but there are some areas where other brands can do it better at a lower price.

HE, or Hall Effect, keyboards are the latest and greatest keyboard technology specifically geared towards the eSports gamers. • Hall Effect switches are much different in operation. Rather than relying upon a the traditional physical open/close switch it relies upon a magnetic field which senses the location of the key press. • With iCue software you can fine tune the range of the keystroke for operation making it ideal for eSport games like Counter-Strike, Valorant, League of Legends, Rocket League, etc. Strafe and fire actions seem to be quicker response since you can adjust the sensitivity of the switch. • The switches are pre-lubed making a smooth, precise operation and rapid trigger effect. Since the switch isn’t a physical contact which has to reset on the upstroke, with hall effect you can set the stroke range and there is no reset delay so each stroke is registered. Quick and precise! • Flashtap is another feature of the keyboard which allows you to set priority to keys in the event two keys are pressed simultaneously. • 8,000Hz polling insures that actions are transmitted to your computer extremely fast Other considerations… • I love the form factor and being TKL you gain the extra space for your mouse. • The multi-function knob and buttons allows quick switching between regular or gaming modes, cycle through RGB effects and the knob as a media control… twist for volume, push for pause/play. • iCue software allows control of most aspects of this keyboard, allowing you to get the most out of your experience. • It even comes with a magnetic wrist rest. I’ve tested a few higher priced keyboards that do not provide one. All of these features result in a class of its own competitive gaming keyboard.
