Overall a decent keyboard with some neat RGB

I purchased this board to replace the one that came with my PC from CyberPower. The old board was fine it just wouldn't recognize certain (and vital) button combinations which made certain games very difficult. This board has no issues with anything like that. The RGB is, of course, a very nice feature and the customization you have with the profiles is impressive. Be aware that they are VERY low-profile keys which are VERY SENSITIVE and can be pretty annoying at times as I tend to fat-finger things all the time (space bar now included). However, I would recommend this board when on sale if you are into the low-profile keys. I see myself changing this out for a similar version without the short bois on it soon though.

Beautiful, high quality, and quiet switches

I mostly can only game at night and so it's important for me to have a keyboard that isn't clicking and clacking at every key stroke (so I don't wake the wife). The keys are very quiet while still having that mechanical keyboard feeling. The build quality is also top quality and the RGB is incredible with iCUE. Look for it to go on sale as it is an absolute steal at $99. I would gladly pay up to $120 for this, but the normal asking price of $170 is hard to justify for me as a keyboard purchase (though I know some who would pay hundreds for a keyboard with custom switches). All around a great keyboard for enthusiasts!

Amazing low profile and fast keyboard!!

The keyboard is very fast compared to my old Logitech G15 keyboard that I replaced with this. In fact its too fast that I'm getting used to using it. When I'm typing it's great other then the spacing is different then my old keyboard too. For gaming it is fast and responsive where I don't have to press as hard as before. RGB lighting is awesome looking and love how you can customize it. The software is not the easiest to work with it isn't impossible either just need to play around with it. You can DL custom scripts so you don't have to mess with the customizing. On Corsairs site (forums) they have a couple of links to 2 customizing web sites. USB cable Is one cable but splits to 2 USB cables. I'm using this on a laptop which is already limited ports, but luckily I have a Sabrent 10 port USB hub. Rather not have that port used up for no reason. I use a Bluetooth mouse so I don't need the port behind the keyboard. But it's there if its needed. Why 4 stars? The software is taking some time to figure out and the USB passthrough. Other then that this is a great keyboard and would recommend it to anyone wanting a mechanical keyboard for gaming.

Awesome keyboard, exactly what I was looking for. The keys feel nice and secure. Low profile keys make the keyboard look somewhat slim compared to other mechanical keyboards. Able to type very fast on this keyboard. Easy to use software for creating lighting profiles and setting up your color schemes. Would recommend this to everyone!

No Clickety Clack! Love color combinations, too!

This is the first time I have experienced this brand and I must say that I love it. I'm not a gamer, by any means. In fact, I don't play any games at all. I bought this keyboard because it helps me to see when I'm working at night. Since the shelter in place order, I have been working from home and I find that I work more at night than I do during the day. So, when I don't want to have the lights on full brightness, this helps me to make sure I am on the right keys. I really like that I can change the color combination. My laptop has built in lights, but they are white and it's a bit irritating when I'm working in a dark room. This way, I can choose a soothing color or leave it in it's muli-color state. It has various settings and the lights have different motion modes to choose from. I prefer the slow sweeping motion. One thing that I had no clue about, even though I read it before buying it is the low profile keys. I am not a fan of this. There is no room for error with this type of keyboard. So, for those who are not aware, it means that the keys are not as high as a regular keyboard and the distance for the key to travel, when pressed, is much less than the typical keyboard. So, this means you can barely touch a key and that letter will pop up on your screen immediately. So, for example, if I mean to strike the letter "J" and I slightly touch the "H", both letters will show up! This creates so many typos. I have long fingers and they tend to travel more, so the likelihood of me accidentally touching other keys is high. So, if you are not precise in your key strokes, the low profile keyboard may not be for you. I do however like that this keyboard does not clickety clack like the previous gaming back-lit keyboard I had. OMG, it was atrocious all the noise I would make, while working at night. This one is fairly quiet and I really like that. All in all, I'm happy with my purchase. I can't give any less of a score than 5 stars. The low profile does what it's supposed to do, which is take less time and effort to press a key for a result. I simply didn't know what that meant in terms of practical work usage. I would suspect this keyboard would be gamers heaven. Oh! It also has a usb port on the back of the keyboard where you can plug in your mouse, if that's something you would like. I personally use it for a small USB-C cable for my phone. You still have to plug in the additional usb cable that is on the keyboard, to the back of your computer, so you can have connection/power to to the USB port @ the back of the keyboard, as you can see in the pictures.

    First Mechanical Keyboard

A friend has been telling me that I should upgrade my peripherals. After getting a gaming mouse and enjoying the difference, I finally sprung for the Corsair K70 mechanical keyboard. It's a new experience for sure. Your typing must be more precise, or you'll find yourself typing "the" as "thhheeeee". But once you start getting the hang of it, it makes for more pleasant typing experience. The Cherry MX switches are supposed to be among the more quiet mechanical keyboard switches but they still make a very satisfying clack when you press them. I like the low profile key, which aren't like chiclets but aren't real tall with a long throw. The keyboard has a great build with an aluminum case. I downloaded the Corsair software and set the lighting to plain yellow. I might try another mechanical keyboard in the future as there are many options, but they can be a bit pricey. I'll stick with this one for now.

Love almost everything about this. The keys are so fluid and smooth. The lights are awesome. I just don't like the wrist pad.. it could be slightly larger and the center of the keyboard is not where you hands line up. So you have to have the keyboard offset by a margin and then your left hand sort of falls off.. I love it but wish it was balanced with some sort of keys on the left side to provide a square look on your desk.

    My current favorite keyboard

I’ll admit I’m a keyboard addict. I own WAY too many of them. This is the latest one that caught my eye. I love the look of the low profile keys and put this one on my short list. The switches themselves are pretty quiet and my typing speeds weren’t affected in any way by them so I like that. The brushed aluminum and the volume roller sealed it for me. I’m loving this keyboard.

This thing is bad, in a good way. I purchased it on sale and through the app for delivery. Bestbuy had it to me in what seemed to be no time. Easy to set up, plug in tada!! It lights up like a spastic elf waiting to spread holiday cheer all over the room. In fact in conjunction with the excessively large RGB light mouse pad that sweet keyboard is sitting on the two light up the room enough to make all passers by stop and say things like, wait, that’s cool in there..I didn’t know you were hip. Or Ooo what’s that it looks expensive I’m going to eat ice cream above that fancy keyboard later, okay? I enjoy the little light show in there, it’s perfect for when I’m dark and moody playing Xbox in the shadows but still want to see the colors of the rainbow at mind seizing intervals. The hardware is working flawlessly. No a single issue honestly. From thought to actuality BestBuy made getting this produce into my cluttered office a snap.

Very responsive. Very sleek. Very Clean design. made with quality materials. RGBs are nice and bright and smooth when transitioning to any color even black (off) to white. I would certainly recommend this for anyone who doesn’t need a tactical feel and just a nice very responsive keyboard made out of quality materials.

Love this keyboard. Paired with the Corsair M65 RGB ELITE mouse and the Corsair ST100 RGB Premium Headset Stand for a killer synced lighting experience via the iCUE software. Now hoping Corsair develops an iCUE enabled laptop cooling pad for that fully integrated lighting and cooling systems look.

Ignore any negative review you read. This keyboard is absolutely amazing. I luckily got it for 99 dollar sale price. For a RGB beast, with cherry silver switch and such beautiful design, this is soooooo worth it. The first impression is just stunning. The black mental base makes the luxury onto the next level. After a week's of use, I love so much typing and playing games on it.

While the Corsair app has a few issues (auto shuts down) the keyboard still keeps all of the settings. You can customize the RGB to your liking and it has a lot of features. What sold me on this keyboard was the ability to lock the windows key so you don’t minimize your game if you accidentally hit it. Very useful if you’re getting sweaty on some ranked games in Siege or anything else that may cause you to slip and miss CTRL or ALT. Would definitely purchase again. The USB pass through is also very useful if you want to have a connection a little closer to you and it helps with cable management.

    For More Than Just Gaming

Was helping my brother set up a home office and recommended trying a mechanical keyboard instead of the mush pad he was using. Went up to the store to try a few out and he was floored by the touch and feel a mechanical keyboard offers. Was looking for something a bit lower profile and more precise at the same time and this fits the bill. Needed a 10 key for work as well and the media controls are very convenient.

    Design, Keys, Lighting

    9/10 Lighting, 10/10 switches, 10/10 gaming.

Aesthetics: This part is always personal preference. But in my opinion besides the Corsair K70 MK.2 SE this is the best-looking keyboard of their line. LIGHTING: The low-profile switches allow the RGB lighting to come out better than on any of their other boards. They also completely redesigned this switch from the ground up to make the lighting better. The light comes through and surrounds the base of the key and also the letters/symbols on the keys themselves. This means when highlighting only certain keys (for example wasd) you will get minor light bleed on qezxc. Also, due to the double symbols (example: 3 #) the 3 will be bright but the # won’t be. This isn’t a new problem and is better on this keyboard than the normal sized keycaps. I believe Razer has the best RGB lighting out of anyone with their Huntsman Elite and would rate theirs 10/10 and I would rate this board 9/10 for lighting. The black brushed aluminum is 10/10. Looks and feels fantastic. The whole board is also very light and feels SOLID. The length and width are the same as their other boards but height comes in at 29 mm vs 40 mm which is noticeable difference which makes it look like it is almost melding into your desk. There is no cable management on the underside like other Mk.2 boards and I think the K95 Platinum. This is likely from it being low profile which doesn’t allow the extra space needed for that. However, as is common with all Corsair boards it builds dust/hair/debris easily. But can also be cleaned easily. I am still not a fan for the huge gross font of Corsair boards. The font on Huntsman Elite to me is perfect. It is professional enough that I could take it anywhere. This font makes it look to gamer like which is a shame because the rest of this keyboard is very nice. But I suppose they do that to let more light through and for old folk like my Dad who can’t read well without their glasses (he literally said this was a pro for him. I promise I’m not taking pot shots at him lol). Feel: I already mentioned that the aluminum and the overall build quality of this board is fantastic. It feels very well put together and coming in under 3 lbs. makes it very light. With it being so low to the ground it takes a little getting used to because you get used to other boards being so ridiculously tall. The overall construction of the board is top notch. On the bottom of the board itself you have four large rubber pads on the edges to make sure it won’t be moving anywhere and not damage your desk. The actual steps to incline the board came in one stage and is very minor and faced horizontally instead of vertically since I know for some this is important. However, ergonomically speaking you shouldn’t have those up. This keyboard feels solid. It doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart. But does it feel like it’s worth $200? I almost want to say yes it does. It feels just as solid as the K70’s if not more so. On the bottom of the board there are some rubber pads which make it not damage the desk that it is sitting on and also makes it so it won’t move. The actual steps to incline the board come in two stages and are vertical instead of horizontal. I know some people prefer those in a certain direction. But ergonomically you shouldn’t have those up. The keys themselves, I think are ABS plastic, which some hate. At this point with a few weeks of normal use I find them to grippy which his nice for typing and playing games. But mileage may vary there. They are also wider than your normal keycaps which makes typing and gaming easier because you have more surface area to hit. Last, due to the short profile of the cap itself you don’t have to raise your fingers much when typing or gaming which makes everything seem fast and snappy. For example, I type about 115 WPM with this keyboard compared to around 100 – 108 wpm on the K70 or Huntsman Elite. The new cherry MX low profile speed switches feel good. They feel solid. There isn’t key wobble that I have noticed. It is strange because they say it has 45 grams of actuation but it feels like I need more pressure than that. Like browns/blacks. The whole key press itself is stiff. It’s linear but not nearly as buttery smooth as I’m used to with their normal speed switches. Or at least what I had with the K70 MK.2 SE which could have been partly due to the more robust/heavier PBT keycaps. For those unaware it also has an actuation point at 1.0 mm with total travel of 3.2 which makes it one of the fastest switches out there. Overall the typing experience is pleasant but not amazing like it was with the MK.2 SE or the Razer Huntsman Elite. But when it comes to gaming these switches feel great. Typing/gaming on this keyboard is less fatiguing simply because it feels like you have to move your fingers less than on a regular board. With the board being so low too you don’t need a wrist rest because the desk is right there. So, for those who struggle with carpel tunnel syndrome or the like might find some relief with these since it puts your wrists at a more natural angle. The profile, brightness, and windows keys feel great. Along with the multimedia keys. The multimedia keys RGB is fantastic. Last, is the volume scroll wheel. It is pretty stiff which is both good and bad. At times I feel like it catches which makes it hard to do fine adjustments because it will give and move up or down too much while other times with it being stiff makes it easier to fine adjustments. Strange I know. On the bottom of the board it’s got some fancy nice look lines. A sticker with information, four large rubber pads, and a small slot that is horizontal to raise the keyboard slightly. All of which is great. Click Test: Stiff, linear, and quiet. Personal Pros and Cons: Pros: A. Silent, speed, keys that are low profile (45 gram force with 1.0 mm actuation with 3.2 total travel). B. Lower to the ground puts wrists in less awkward angle. C. Low-profile caps allow easy gliding across which increases typing speed and gives more precise gaming. Also, are wider which makes finding correct key easier. D. Great RGB. 9/10. E. Light keyboard <3 lbs. No that isn’t a heart saying love lbs. lol F. Excellent braided cable. G. USB passthrough. H. Full key (NKRO) I. Excellent dedicated media controls (play/pause, forward/backward, stop with volume rocker) J. Brushed aluminum finish Cons: a. 1 ms bounce time. (Which is standard, but Razer Huntsman Elite is like 0.3 ms Granted, either is imperceptible to humans). b. Only 3 profiles with 8 mb of space. c. No account/cloud storage. Which makes it so you must recreate your profiles on another computer or if you need to reinstall windows and forgot to save your actual files somewhere. That is assuming they are too large for the stored profiles. d. Lame wrist rest. You pay so much money. Give me some fake leather like Razer does. e. No shortcut key for sleep. Razer has this which I love. I recreated it with a macro though. f. 3 stage brightness. Compared to multistage brightness from Razer. g. Keys are stiff which isn’t the best typing experience. This is also good though to help prevent mis clicks. h. Ugly font on keycaps. i. Uneven lighting for secondary characters. (example 4 and $). Overall Impressions: This is a top tier keyboard. I absolutely love it. I think it’s stupid expensive. But the switches, RGB, features, software, and aesthetics are great and everything that someone would want out of keyboard. Or at least almost everything. There is no perfect keyboard. But this one gets close. Performance: Theoretically, you are buying this keyboard to have an advantage on others through the low-profile keys and speed switch. I can’t attest to this making you faster. Perhaps with something where rapid keypresses would be needed, you’d see a difference. But I have noticed that when playing games that it has increased responsiveness. For example, it feels like the keyboard and my brain are on the same level. It feels like when I press the key it’s already done on my screen. Whereas, previously it felt like I would press the key and very quickly thereafter it would show up on the screen. There is no other keyboard I would want to use for gaming because the fluidity of hitting different keys is easy. This is due to being able to glide across the top, the position of my hand is flat due to the low-profile nature, and the wider keys themselves make it easier to find the offhand keys such as “g” or “t” or “f1” etc... I find it easier for me to make complex moves with this keyboard than others due to those low-profile caps and my fingers not having to move as much. I don’t know if the particular speed function of that makes a big difference or not. The spacebar itself feels AMAZING. Seriously, it doesn’t rattle or make any noise. I love it. The other bonus with these keys is they are silent (or at least as quiet as you can get). This is great for those that stream, play games with others often, or who game/type with other people in the room. Software: The ICUE software is incredibly powerful. You can do pretty much whatever you want. One thing that I missed with my Razer keyboard that this didn’t have was the alternate “fn” key. Through this software I was able to create my own “f” key. Through this software I was able to create my own “fn” key but with a corsair board. The software updates live. It takes a little getting used to but for the most part is very simple. Especially, for basic tasks.

Love this keyboard. Returned a blackwidow elite for it because I was having disconnection issues during gameplay. This low profile keyboard sounds wonderful, not loud, installed dampeners behind it to make it sound even more silent. RGB is great! Love the colors!
