Customers have good things to say about the keyboard's build quality, RGB lighting, and key feel, frequently praising its responsiveness and the satisfying sound of the switches. Many appreciate the high polling rate and customizable lighting options, along with the convenient volume control wheel and detachable cable. However, some users wish it included a wrist rest and mention the keyboard's height as a potential issue for some. A few also note that the switch type may require an adjustment period.

Great Gaming Keyboard

This is a great gaming keyboard. The keys are highly sensitive. They react instantly with the lightest touch. Perfect for FPS games like COD or Battlefield. The volume control is a scroll wheel which has just the right amount of resistance. The iCUE software allows you to fully customize and take advantage of the the RGB lighting. It has all the necessary keys minus the number pad. I have only one complaint with this keyboard, and that is it doesn't come with a wrist rest. I have large hands, and even I felt a bit awkward using the keyboard without one. I borrowed one from an old keyboard and it felt much better ergonomically. The smaller size of this keyboard makes it a perfect fit for my desk. Overall I really like this keyboard and would recommend it to my friends.
Likes:
1.) Instant action when pressing keys, sensitive keys
2.) Fully customizable LED lighting via the iCUE software
3.) Scroll style volume control
Dislikes:
1.) Does not come with a wrist/palm pad
2.) The LED lights of the keys don't always match the color of the Corsair logo

The K70 is pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a Corsair gaming keyboard. Rock solid, bristling with tech, and a pleasure to use.
One of the first things you're likely to notice out of the box is the heft of the device. The brushed aluminum deck is fairly thick and about as solid as you can get, with no visible twisting or bending. All the keycaps are doubleshot injection molded, and as such shouldn't have any issues with the legend wearing off over time. The USB-C cable included is both long and well protected. They even included a safety lock for the Tournament Mode switch at the top, so you don't need to worry about accidentally toggling it off during gameplay. Even the flip-out elevation feet on the back are chunky.
As far as actually using it goes, I'll admit there was a bit of a learning curve at first. The optical speed switches feel a fair bit different from standard mechanical switches, even other linear designs. Responsiveness is quite high and there is not a trace of tactile feedback. The high responsiveness of the switches can lead to a bit of mistyping when you're getting used to it and when gaming you definitely need to be aware of how much resting pressure you're applying to frequently used keys, but I adapted to it I found it quite pleasant to use. Noise levels are going to vary greatly depending on how used to it you are. If you pay attention to only use as much pressure as you actually need it can be fairly quiet (at least by mechanical standards) but if you're using to typing with blues, browns, or pretty much any other key that features a tactile bump I suspect you're going to be reflexively hammering on the keys and producing a bit of a racket every time one bottoms out. I also suspect it'll be quite a while before I've trained myself out of the tendency to push down a little too hard on my home row keys while resting between sentences.
As far as software goes, you will need to make sure you've got the latest version of version 4 of iCUE before you can access any of the advanced features included on the keyboard. I'll admit I wasted about an hour when I first plugged the keyboard in before I realized that version 3 of the application will not automatically update. Pretty much everything you'd expect is there: per-key RGB lighting, firmware updates, and the ability to store lighting profiles and key assignments to the hardware so that you don't need to worry about your settings following you between devices.
Before you decide this is the keyboard for you, though, there are a few things you should probably be aware of. First: this is a pretty slimmed down package. Unlike some of Corsair's other offerings you are not going to be getting a built in wrist rest, key puller, or alternate keycaps for FPS/MOBA clusters. Second: it is amazingly twitchy by design. This is definitely something you should be looking at for gaming first and typing second, as I don't think most are going to be too satisfied by how easy it is to insert a typo or random string of A's every time they pause to read over what they just wrote. If these sound like issues I think you would probably be a lot happier with one of the conventional mechanical offerings from Corsair, which are a lot better balanced for day-to-day use. If cutting down input lag is all you're after though, you're not going to do much better than this.

Meaty well built gaming keyboard

I love this keyboard!!! It has a beefy feel to it with the brushed aluminum frame and keys.
The keys are well spaced for gaming and are built with PBT double shot keycaps for fade resistant gaming over time. The MX Red Cherry optical keys provide very fast response and processing speed. I barely have to tap the keys for response which means very rapid firing in certain games. I love the fact that I don't have to jam the keys down to get what i want. For typing this keyboard is very unforgiving with how sensitive it is and you will definitely see more mistakes with word processing if you are not very proficient with typing. The key texture feels very nice, however there is no indicator/raised point to determine WSAD which is very minor "eh". The keyboard is also very quiet compared to my last mechanical keyboard. I can do some hardcore keystrokes without alerting the entire house.
The RGB and macro effects are very nice paired with the ICUE. There is 8mb onboard storage to create different profiles that are saved even if you take the keyboard on the go. I didn't go deep into all the different options of ICUE software because I just wanted to keep tapping away on games and such. I set a pattern or profile that suited my desktop theme and of I went. As for how mobile this keyboard is, it has a decent small footprint without the 10 key, but still enough to feel like full keyboard. The removable USB-C is actually more convenient than I first anticipated as i can just disconnect the cable from the keyboard leaving it in place on the PC and take the board along with me and laptop using another cable.
I especially love the dedicated media buttons and volume roll control. This makes things so much easier when using with my gaming laptop not having to use the laptop controls. There is a tournament lock button to turn the RGB to one solid color for less distraction. Nice feature, but I am not a heavy tournament gamer and rarely use this.
Only minus I could probably think of thus far of this keyboard is the overall height of the keyboard and the raised keys. It really needs wrist support and having the keys raised a little more than usual allows light refraction a little bit from the RGB. Nothing to cry about though because this keyboard is above par on so many other aspects. I do wish there was more instruction on how to setup the macros and RGB more on unboxing.

This works well for my gaming set up. I sometimes miss the ten key to the side, but it is a bit more compact for my desk. It has held up with daily gaming for the past 3 months. Would buy again.

Solid Performance and Features

The Corsair K70 Champion is the latest refresh to one of the best gaming keyboards on the market. The optical switches provide a tangible upgrade that performs and feels better than the general MX switch counterparts. The feature set is fairly pedestrian, but the performance matches anything on the market in this range.
Generally speaking, keyboard setup is straight forward. That wasn't my experience with the K70, though. On both Mac (my work laptop) and Windows (my gaming desktop), the iCue app had issues identifying the keyboard. Multiple unplugs/replugs eventually fixed this on PC, but I was never able to get this synced with my Mac. This is out of the ordinary for Corsair components in my experience; in fact, over roughly a dozen Corsair components that I own, this is the first I've had issues with. Not sure what the problem is in my case, but your mileage may vary.
Performance on with the K70 is spot on as expected. The switches actuate VERY quickly. For gaming, it's a great feature to have. I primarily play FPS games, and this keyboard felt great. The optical switches are smooth and relatively quiet, and I would describe them with the feel of a Cherry MX Red and the sound profile of a Cherry MX Brown. With the actuation being very quick, the type feel on these is closest to a Cherry MX Silver. For me, this isn't a great typing keyboard; I'm a developer by trade, and my typing errors skyrocketed. This isn't necessarily a negative of the keyboard itself, though. It's a consequence of switch styles, and those who are accustomed to very light touch-typing will feel at home with this board. I personally have a much heavier touch-type. I have no doubts that I'd adjust over time, but I'll likely stick to my existing board (SteelSeries Apex Pro) for development.
Feature-wise, the K70 is nothing overly spectacular. As always, the lighting is absolutely on point, being supremely adjustable and also pair-able with other Corsair components. It includes a full suite of media keys, which is a great addition, and also has a "tournament" mode selector that allows you to lock in certain features (lighting, key binds, etc) with the flip of a switch. It also connects via USB C, which unfortunately still qualifies as a feature since there are still boards that use antiquated Micro USB. It does not, however, have any USB port pass-thru functionality, which is a shame. It also has quite a bit of wasted real estate on the top; the large Corsair logo region seems like it'd be prime real estate for a display in the vein of what some other boards offer, or could be utilized to offer some stream deck-lite type buttons (similar to some of the other boards in Corsairs range), but instead, it's a simplistic LED that takes up a pretty significant chunk of space. Not necessarily a big con, but it seems like a wasted opportunity to add more useful functionality to the keyboard.
The K70 is every bit as good as you'd expect from a Corsair gaming keyboard. While maybe not great for all styles of typing, it's incredible for gaming and provides a great experience that's likely to be enjoyed by all.

Great keyboard, no complaints. I prefer Corsair's iCue software to Logitech and Razer's alternatives.
