Customers have good things to say about the keyboard's build quality, RGB lighting, and key feel, frequently praising its responsiveness and the satisfying sound of the switches. Many appreciate the high polling rate and customizable lighting options, along with the convenient volume control wheel and detachable cable. However, some users wish it included a wrist rest and mention the keyboard's height as a potential issue for some. A few also note that the switch type may require an adjustment period.

Nice keyboard but needs wrist rest

It's a nice keyboard but very unfortunate that corsair decided not to include the wrist rest that it was originally advertised as having in the original previews. I went ahead and tried it but without having a wrist rest, i noticed my wrist starting hurting about an hour after use. For that I reason I decided to return and to stick to my K100 fullsize with wrist rest.

I Need Another One! My Teenage Daughter Stole It!

So I got this keyboard for me as I begin to delve into PC gaming, but I may have lost it to my teenage daughter! I kind of knew this was going to happen. Haha! So let’s talk about what I like, then what she likes.
I’ve used Corsair computer products in the past so I knew what to expect in terms of quality and craftsmanship. This keyboard did not disappoint! A solid, metal frame paired with rigid plastic provides no room for flex. The non-slip feet on the bottom keep it right where it’s supposed to be. It just feels tight. Stable! I like the removable USB cord for portability. I’m not worried about the wire getting pinched or damaged. And even if it does, it’s replaceable. So no trashing a keyboard over a messed up wire!
This keyboard is super responsive! There appears to be little to no lag time when playing games (ie. Call of Duty). It does have a “tournament mode” switch on the back to lock in the RGB color and disable macros so that you’re not mistakenly keying in programs you didn’t mean.
My daughter on the other hand wanted a cool keyboard with pretty colors! And this thing doesn’t disappoint her! But seriously, the colors pop without being overly blinding. The keys are easily viewable, which with previously backlit keyboards I’ve owned has been a problem. Even with normal typing (not gaming) she doesn’t mind the mechanical nature. She writes a lot of short stories and does a lot of graphic art. She says the keyboard feels solid and the keys strike smooth making each stroke feel confident.
In conclusion, we would both recommend this product for different usages and reasons.

Beautiful Corsair Quality

The Corsair K70 RGB TKL Champion Series Key board is an excellent keyboard all around. Very solidly built and beautiful.
The feel of the keys is great and Corsair also includes some extra textured keycaps for the common gaming keys we all use. The RGB is bright and customizable with the iCUE software.
I love the smaller keyboards as they are perfect for FPS games since you get more space to move your mouse around.
What I especially like about this keyboard, are the controls on the top bar. You get all the buttons you need to quickly adjust audio and video playback which is super handy. My favorite is the volume scroll wheel. It is a common feature on gaming keyboards but it is so nice to have. It eliminates having to manually turn the volume down on your PC.
I’ve been using Corsair keyboards for a while now and they make some of the best keyboards in the business. The K70 TKL Champion series is definitely no exception.
If you’re looking for a smaller keyboard that is tough, beautiful and solid, look no further. You will not be disappointed with this keyboard!

Amazing design. Sleek look with a very customizable color scheme. RGB looks great. I do not professionally game but casually game and this keyboard works so well. Not clicky. Smooth and responsive keys. Easy to set up and ready to go in minutes. Comes with downloadable content to share color scheme designs. Multiple binding options to fit all of your gaming needs. Per-key RGB backlighting which makes it fun and limitless customization. Did some research and found out that Summit1G uses it and excited to continue to learn how to game on it. My abilities on the keys have already dramatically increased. Detachable USB type-C which makes it super compatible with any gaming laptop or computer. Love the volume roller - easy to adjust volume on the go or when in intense match. Very durable frame - feels sturdy when carrying. Something about the keys makes it feel very expensive and worth while. Molded keycap that resists wear, fading, and shine. Seems like this keyboard will last met a long time!

Over the years I have had MANY keyboards from various manufacturers and I always come back to corsair. Everything from their construction, keycaps/switches and esthetics bring me back. I have 3 other K70 keyboards on 3 different machines/workstations and they all work perfectly. All of my other K70s have various Cherry switches. Work Blue, Game Red, Media/Family Room Brown. This is my first OPX. I would put it between Red and Brown. And the switches are very responsive and quick, resting on the keys sometimes actuates the key once it starts to be depressed, but this is usually not an issue unless I am bouncing my fingers carelessly. I average 40-50 wpm depending on time of day and amt of coffee in me and this board gives me no issues, very responsive keys. I like that Corsair's newer offerings already come with PBT Caps. I had to opt to get the PBT cap set for my work computer (Blues). The PBT feels better overall for long typing sessions. My gaming PC I use the textured WASD number and arrow keys. But hey Corsair, stop changing your fonts on the keys. Subtle changes from different models but the 7/& key made me look at it for a few seconds to figure out what the h#ll I was looking at. I am currently using the TKL on my Laptop since it is fairly compact and pretty comfortable using it on my lap as opposed to keeping the entire laptop on me. The board is very well built like all K70s with no flex. Speaking of being well built, some of my older K70s' USB cables were to thick and kind of a pain to manage or keep out of the way. They detachable USB C cable is a generous length and easy to manage. Wireless would have been a bonus but I would wonder if it would be as responsive. All of the media/volume keys I've grown accustomed to from previous boards are present and work as they should. If you have used the iCue software then there is nothing to really say about it other than make sure if you want to use macros or change the RGB settings make sure the switch lock is not activated. The switch is next to the USB C port. It is not labeled. The picture on the box makes it look like it should light up when it is activated but my board does not. All the keys will turn red and the board will not be recognized in the iCue software. Once the switch is deactivated it would appear in the software. The RGB lighting is uniform and keeps the keyboard well lit. Sometimes I do like to type darked out and it basically looks like semi blanked out keys. I don't think I could use this board as my primary as I use the number pad extensively for work, but for home use and gaming purposes where I do not need the number pad the TKL works pretty well and I notice everything being a little more compact with my arms a little closer together with left hand on the keys and right hand on the mouse without that additional space in-between being there. (definitely better for LAPtoping). I'm sure there are plenty of other TKL board out there but if you like the K70 layout and need fast switches I can recommend this board without hesitation.

Great quality in a TKL keyboard

This is my first foray into using a TKL keyboard, as well as my first experience with the Corsair K70 series. I can’t possibly cover the vast amount of PC games out there in and how they each performed with this keyboard, so this is not going to be that review.
The RGB on this keyboard looks clean and bright. I play a few FPS games and a few racing titles. I have what I call “gamer’s pinky”, and it’s from years of having to bend my left pinky at a weird angle to reach the left shift key. This keyboard layout puts it where my finger naturally sits. It works well the Corsair iCue software, but can survive without it and work just as well. If you have other corsair branded equipment though, you may want to sync up your RGB with your other stuff.
I find there to be a little reverb from the keyboard itself when pressing the keys, but they keys themselves don’t have any discernable mechanical noise or activation. The keys on this model are supposed to be optical-mechanical. For me, this means that their response is instantaneous, and the key actuation is very minimal. Will you score better with this keyboard, perhaps? I find the layout easy to use and they keycaps to be in a rather easy to find layout that doesn’t strike me as too cramped or unusual.
The most impressive part of this keyboard is its quality. It doesn’t look cheap, feel cheap, or act cheap. I have spent in this range before, but I think Corsair has pulled off a keyboard that will stay on my desk for a few years to come.

Great keyboard if your looking for linear switches
|
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The build quality and sturdiness of this keyboard are what I have come to expect from Corsairs keyboards. The Keyboard has very little flex and the keys are all very good feeling and nicely textured. If you’re looking for a super smooth typing experience, I don’t think I have used anything much smoother than these keys in the mass market space, better even than MX Reds which is what I am used to when it comes to linear switches. The other nice thing is the backlighting is very even across the whole board which I have seen be an issue in other RGB keyboards I’ve used in the past when you set the whole thing to one color. Honestly when it comes to using the keyboard for gaming it’s one of the better keyboards I’ve used in a while.
However, with all that said there are a few things that might bug some people. The first word of note is to make sure you’re on the absolute newest version of iCUE. It took me a while to figure out why the keyboard would not even show in the iCUE software, the software acted like it was up to date but, in the end, I had to totally uninstall it and reinstall the current version. Once that was done everything started working as it should. Most people probably won’t have that issue but if you plug your keyboard in and iCUE acts like it’s not there check that first.
The only other thing that may or may not be an issue is when I say the keys are very smooth, I mean they are so smooth that if your not use to typing on it you will likely have many mistypes as the keys are very “light” to the press and tend to be sensitive if your heavy handed and brush the key next to the one your actually typing. After a few days this seems to be less of an issue now that I’m use to the board but if that kind of thing bothers you, you might want to keep it in mind.
Otherwise, this keyboard is great once I ironed out the few minor issues I personally had with it, it’s very nice to type on and response times are great no worry of missed typing events at all and it’s somewhat quieter than normal MX Cherry switches I’ve used in the past.

OPX switches are extremely fast

I have been using the Corsair K65 rapidfire (Cherry MX Silver switches) since it came out and the K70 TKL Champion with OPX switches is a welcomed refresh. I definitely love the dedicated media keys on the K70 TKL and I am so used to the Cherry Silver Switches that the OPX was an easy transition. The volume wheel on the K70 TKL is amazing and is preferred over volume up and down buttons on the K65. The cable management is so much easier since the USB C cable disconnects completely from the K70 TKL, meaning I can take my keyboard with me if I want to as long as I have a spare USB C cable on me (which I always have in my backpack).
This is a perfect keyboard for me since I work primarily in Microsoft Word and the rest of the time I am gaming. I prefer a smaller form factor, especially for FPS games which is why I can’t do full sized keyboards anymore. I will say I am a bit sad that I can’t use my O rings to dampen the sound of the mechanical keyboard like I can with Cherry MX switches, but it’s not a deal breaker for me. For those looking for a TKL keyboard with RGB and functional media controls, look no further.

Straight out of the box I was impressed. Cool, smooth-feel, stylish and RGB lighting. I was definitely anxious to use this keyboard.
Keyboard hook-up was straight forward. Just plug the device directly into your computer and you're off to the races. It's that simple.
This keyboard is SOLID. This keyboard is RESPONSIVE. This keyboard is AWESOME. This keyboard is KEEN. This keyboard is LIGHTNING FAST. Keyboard lighting is GORGEOUS. I've noticed that I have placed higher in some of the games I play, therefore this makes me very happy. More kills, with more thrills!
This Tenkeyless mechanical keyboard, is touted to have optical-mechanical key-switches. You certainly are not going to wear these keys out. This keyboard has a tournament switch, which locks your desired lighting and macros. Cool, very cool!
I really enjoyed this awesome keyboard. In a nutshell, it is by far the best that I have ever owned and used. It is highly responsive and, in my opinion, cuts the competition to pieces. I have nothing but praise for this keyboard.

Customizable, Competent, compact keyboard

Tldr: Solidly built keyboard with very customizable lighting effects that’s works well for medium typists that need some extra desk space.
Gaming in a small space? With mouse pads getting bigger, additional macro keypads, and other assorted controllers, it may be time to think about a more compact keyboard. Corsair may have the solution for you. With their compact K70, they dropped none of the quality which pervades their other products. They only dropped the number keys. Otherwise, the keyboard is very solid and incredibly capable. Each key can have a macro assigned or otherwise be mapped to a key combination.
When it comes to lighting, I haven’t yet come across a more customizable keyboard. Each key can have it’s own programmed lighting. Layers of effects can be used together allowing for “rain” on most keys with certain ones (i.e. WASD) to stand out with solid (or pulsing) colors. The software allows for an unlimited number of profiles. The profiles can be chosen manually or triggered by an application. The profiles manage key assignments / macros and lighting. Lighting can also be extended to other Corsair accessories you may own including a mouse pad, case fans, and monitor effects.
The control software from Corsair was intuitive to me, but confusing to my daughter. Her machine also had some issues saving the configurations, but I did not have the same issue. Loading the profiles (both manually and automatically worked well with all of the games I tried.
Key action is the main reason to look at a gaming keyboard over a standard one. Corsair delivers on this point as well. Like most gaming keyboards, it requires a lighter touch than you may be used to compared to laptops or PC manufacturer keyboards with scissors switches. Each keypress is solid and completely effortless. For heavy typists, there’s enough movement that you can still feel your way around the keyboard with a relatively short learning curve.
The only design flaw I noted was that some of the symbols on the number keys are a little hard to discern. If you know what those keys are supposed to be, you’ll have no issue. If you’re still new to typing, you may have some confusion. Some may find their wrists need to be more curved instead of sitting on a keyboard wrest. If your wrists are on the table, you likely will have more mistyping.
Beyond the standard keys, Corsair also added media keys to control playback. There’s even a wheel for quick control over volume or muting. Response from the keys was very fast. I had no issue with buttons getting stuck or otherwise being recognized out of order.

Great Gaming Keyboard!

This is a solid, high-quality gaming keyboard! The aluminum case makes it durable, yet lightweight. This is a "wired" keyboard, but the flexible, braided USB/ASB-c cord can be removed/replaced for storage or transportation. The keyboard is "ten-keyless" making a smaller footprint on your desk, and eliminates keys that are rarely used in gaming.
Includes a "roller switch" for volume control which is a great feature. This is a mechanical keyboard so the keys produce a nice definitive "click". There's no doubt when you've pressed a key. They are easy to push and comfortable to the touch.
The "Tournament" mode allows you to switch off the multi-color, color-changing mode, and revert to a lower light non-distractive "red" glow (although I like the color change feature).
Boasts "hyper-processing technology" which is designed to transmit your signals much faster. I'm just a casual gamer so I can't tell the difference but I'm sure an avid gamer could.
In the top left corner, they've placed a stop, play, FF and RWD buttons for easy video viewing making this an all-around great keyboard.
