The most expensive and colorful key board I’ve ever bought. Works really well and has a lot of functions with it. But if your a gamer. I feel like they could have done a little more with the layout. More for gaming functions.

REVIEW: Corsair K95 RGB PLATINUM XT
BEST BUY Tech Insider Network
SUMMARY:
A great keyboard with everything AND the kitchen sink included. Program a different light for each key if you want. Tie certain behavior to certain keys. It even has a profile to monitor GPU / CPU temps and change lights on your keyboard accordingly. But wait there is more, it also includes different color key caps that are textured and contoured for typical gaming keys like WASD and more. Top this off with the ability to store all of this in the keyboard NVRAM and you just might have the best keyboard ever. I’m just scratching the surface and I look forward to exploring the many nooks and crannies of the keyboard and software (Elgato Stream Deck and iCUE).
MY BACKGROUND:
New to gaming on a PC (this past year). Occasionally game a few hours / week. Games like Battlefront II, No Man’s Sky. Being new to this generation of PC gaming (vs 1980’s arcade 1 joystick 1 button) I’ve been struggling to find the right keys, at the right time without taking a hard look at the keys. I’m also a 60-80 wpm touch typist that normally uses an ergonomic keyboard. So, a traditional keyboard causes me to make lots of mistakes.
MY SETUP:
4K 32 Inch HDR Monitor, with built in KVM switch between my “gaming PC” and my “work PC”. The KVM part is important as the monitor will auto switch the keyboard, mouse, and speakers depending upon which system I’m using (or is selected).
PAST ISSUES:
I’ve tried a few different keyboards, including others from the same maker, but because they did not have onboard NVRAM to store the light profiles and macros every time I changed inputs the keyboard would spaz out and revert to default rainbow patterns (which I hate). Then I would have to fire up the software and force a profile, until the next time. Even just booting up one of the keyboards I would have to watch the super bright default rainbow for however long it takes the system to boot. Many keyboards I’ve tried in the past just felt dead as far as responsiveness, even some medium priced “gaming” keyboard. So far, I have returned maybe 3 keyboards, and keep reverting back to my ergo keyboard (which is really bad for gaming by the way).
UNBOXING:
INITIAL IMPRESSIONS:
Well packaged and screams deluxe, high end quality immediately. It weighs a million pounds, so you know it won’t slide around your desk. I was shocked to see (2) USB cords wrapped in a thick fabric, but I guess with all the lights and a USB passthrough there was not enough power from a single USB port. The cords are nice and long, so I had no problem routing them around things on my desk to hide them. I do wish it was USB 3 passthrough, but that is a minor issue. The wrist rest is nice and sturdy buy soft.
PERFORMANCE / EASE OF USE:
INITIAL SETUP:
Like most things these days, there are no instructions. It took about 5 minutes for me to figure out how to use the iCUE Software properly. The “effects” that you add to a profile have a hierarchy, so you move effects higher or lower in priority. In my case I wanted blue glowing keys overall, WSAD in RED so I could find them, and “action” keys QEFX in yellow so I could find them and differentiate them from WSAD. So, the Blue Effect had to go on the bottom of the list then the RED and YELLOW higher up. Lastly, I mapped the overall top border of “trim” lights to be my GPU temperature monitor GREEN,YELLOW,RED depending upon how hot my GPU was. This allows me to turn off the distracting on screen meter that I never read anyway. The icing on the cake was when I popped off the black key caps and put on gray textured WSAD caps to help with contrast when I glance down. WAY COOL!
TIP: When trying to make several keys a different color (like RED WSAD) you must hold down the control key while you “paint” the keys you want to be RED (with the iCUE software). This was not evident, so I spent some time trying to figure out why I could only change one key at a time.
PERFORMANCE:
I must say this is the most comfortable keyboard I’ve used. I can almost type as fast as on my ergonomic keyboard and especially with the textured / contoured WSAD keys I have no issues staying centered. It has just the right amount of give and take when pressing the keys. It feels sturdy and well made. I expect it to last a long time.
SUMMARY:
My initial impressions are all 100% positive, and I would recommend this to anyone who wants a “serious” keyboard.

An Amazing Premium and Elite Keyboard

I have been using traditional keyboards for a while now, I never really considered getting a mechanical or gaming keyboard until recently. My sons and I have been playing more and more PC gaming and we decided that it was time to upgrade some of our accessories. We were looking for a keyboard with lots of customization, a good feel, and some nice bonuses. Long story short Corsair delivered on all of those and then some.
First, the build is fantastic. It has some heft to it and that gives it a premium feel and makes me feel confident that my 3 sons and I will be hard-pressed to damage this thing during long gaming sessions. The keycaps are a breeze to replace/change, especially with the included key remover tool. My 8-year-old son has been able to change the caps on his own without any issues. We love the clicking sound the keys make. This is not a quiet keyboard by any stretch of the imagination. It would be difficult to use this if you needed to be quiet, ie someone sleeping near you.
Second, the customization that this keyboard offers is insane. I would never even have dreamed up some of the things that are capable here. Once you connect the keyboard you should immediately install the iCue software. This software really unlocks the full potential of the hardware. We’ve used macros in the past, but this is macros on steroids. The level of customization per game is crazy. From different lighting setups/patterns per game/situation to custom macro options for individual games you really can drill down and have the most optimum setup per game, per person. We focused mainly on the customization for gaming, but my sons started looking into how the iCue software allows you to add rules to your hardware if you have a custom gaming rig. We don’t have one of these yet, but my sons are keen on building one now that they have seen what is possible.
If you made it this far you should know that we love this keyboard, and would whole-heartedly recommend this to anyone looking for a top tier gaming keyboard. There are plenty of other products out there for half the cost, but I doubt they would have this kind of build quality and custom integration.

When I first tried 2015's Corsair K95 RGB with Cherry Reds, it was like a revelation from the membrane keyboards I had been using at work and home for so long. I'm a pretty fast typist and can still sustain between 80-90 wpm despite what more than 30 years behind a keyboard has done to my hands and fingers. I really liked the smooth, linear travel of MX Reds for regular productivity and straight-up typing, but went all-in for what was, at the time, the TOTL model for those 18 macro G keys to accompany my first high-end gaming rig. I had visions in my head of giving those macro keys quite a workout, but in the end I only filled about 4 or 5 with any additional functions and keybindings as I ended up favoring a controller most the time. Flash-forward a few years and I found myself needing another keyboard at work so I sprung for my own Corsair K70 MK.2. Still the satisfying keystrokes and smooth travel--but no macro keys at all (which I ended up kind of missing just a little). Fortunately, my daughter wanted to see what all the fuss was about so I passed her my old K95 for her gaming PC and decided to try out the new Platinum XT with Speed switches. Was it worth the upgrade over my old K95 RGB or even the newer K70 MK.2--absolutely! Will it be for everyone...well, maybe.
First off, all the good bits. Corsair continues its tradition of what seems like rock-solid construction with a metal shell; heavy duty braided cable; nice, solid-feeling keycaps; and some gorgeous per-key LED lighting that ups the ante from simple backlights to an additional razor thin LED strip along the top edge of the keyboard. It's not overblown, but the effect beyond the dark, plain-Jane perimeter of the K70 is definitely a welcome sight. There's a pleather padded snap-on wrist rest with perforations across the surface to help with air circulation. I haven't had a marathon gaming session using the K95 yet so I don't know how much it would really prevent sweat and heat build-up, but it's a bit more comfortable than the textured hard surface of the K70's rest. The column of six grey G keys down the left side of the keyboard are textured just like the spacebar while the rest of the keycaps are glasstop smooth. There's a keypuller included with two sets of replacement keys for either FPS or MOBA style play--these keys are grey and textured the same as the G keys and spacebar to easily find what you need in the dark. At first I wasn't wild about the extra crosshatch texture on those keys but they've really grown on me, and now the smooth-topped spacebar on other keyboards feels almost foreign. Corsair also included a sail logo Escape key and an extra set of blue colored G keys to let you personalize the keyboard even further. Around back is a pass-through USB port to make up for one of the two ports the K95 eats at the PC, and the bottom features two VERY small fold-out legs for a slight elevation. I love the dedicated media playback keys and the giant mute button and cylindrical volume roller are about the most intuitive ways to control playback volume as you can get on a keyboard, even more so than a rotary volume knob because you don't have to reorient your hand to grip and operate the control. Finally, there's are a few keys near the top for profile cycling and brightness level and a Windows key lock out button that you can configure in iCUE to keep from accidentally hitting the Windows key during a game and being thrown back to the desktop. Physically, the keyboard feels reassuringly worth the price; it's very well appointed while not being littered with a bunch of additional nonsense keys, and it looks every bit both gamer and professional at the same time.
It's hard to know what to say of value that hasn't already been said about Cherry's mechanical keyswitch performance, so I'll simply say this of the change going from Reds to Speed Silver...if you're new to speed switches, like I am, you WILL notice a difference immediately. I didn't find the difference subtle the way browns differ from reds...that tiny bit of linear travel and slightly less actuation force, especially if you're already accustomed to more traditional mechanical switches, is going to feel almost too sensitive until you train your fingers to the keys. For the first week or so, I was constantly typing multiple characters at the same time because my fingers were just barely glancing past or depressing neighboring keys during regular typing. But as I became accustomed to the feeling of the keys, I started to like it better for both gaming (super sensitive, ultra-responsive) and typing (not fatiguing because eventually I was training myself not to hit the keys quite so hard). The reduction in force required to register a keystroke made up for a LITTLE bit of the additional clicky sound of the Speed Silvers over something quieter like the Browns, but they are still mechanical keys so you still get that satisfying click if that's what you're after. If you're still using a straight keyboard (not split/ergo) and are already a pretty fast typist, you might actually end up liking the Silvers for improving your productivity performance, not just your game!
I know some people complain about the iCUE client being buggy or hard to use, but I've never found it to be a problem at all, other than once in a blue moon you might not find the color setting you're after for a particular key/location under the RGB lighting zone section; instead you have to go to key functions or assignment. But I have to admit, having the Scimitar mouse, the K95 keyboard, and even the Virtuoso RGB Wireless (although that headset is still just a bit harsh on the clamping force) all cycling, pulsing, or flashing in sync is pretty darned cool to see in action. Keybinding and macro recording in iCUE for the G keys (or pretty much anything else) is quite painless, but if you're even remotely familiar with the concept of keybinding or macros in the first place, I think you'll find the iCUE client presents no challenge to get everything dialed in as you'd like.
But what you're probably MORE interested in is whether the Stream Deck integration introduced in the K95 Platinum series works as advertised. In short: it's seamless. I'm not a streamer or content creator though my daughter and I are starting to experiment with some home video production, but as an IT geek and avid gamer since even before the Atari 2600 went mainstream, I'm always jazzed to explore new ways to enhance and extend my relationship with technology. I'll simply say this of the built-in Stream Deck functionality--if you had your eye on a $100 Stream Deck mini (the 6-button stand-alone control console)...don't bother; save your money by subsidizing your purchase intentions with one of the Corsair K95 Platinum models to get yourself into a top flight gaming keyboard that gives you virtually all the functionality of the Mini anyway. Okay, yes, the little OLED buttons on the Stream Deck console are cool--but that control box (even the mini) takes up extra real estate on your desk and if you're already at the keys typing or gaming, you have to take your hand WAY off the keyboard to tap one of the physical buttons on the console. With the K95's Stream Deck integration, the software client recognizes the keyboard as a Stream Deck device and you simply drag and drop the plugin functions you want onto an overlay of the G Keys on the screen--that's all there is to it. Once you've got your 6 Stream Deck functions defined, a floating "action bar" appears on the desktop that mirrors the layout of the G keys (with the relevant icons for Stream Deck actions). It's actually kind of handy because most content creators or streamers are probably going to have their cameras near their screens anyway--by keeping the action bar visible on the desktop, you don't have to take your eyes off the camera to see which button you need, and you only have to throw out a pinky to hit the proper key while keeping the rest of your fingers engaged on the keyboard. About the only drawback I could see here is that the action bar isn't visible if you're gaming in full-screen mode; it has to be windowed/borderless. Now, we are talking about only 6 G Keys here...once you've got the functions down, you can obviously hide the action bar while Stream Deck is still active as well.
So is there anything not to like--not much that I could find. I suppose some might bemoan there's not a full 18-key Stream Deck-compatible version at the ready (a la previous iterations of the K95's 3 columns of G Keys), but I don't know how user friendly it would be to clog up the desktop with a floating action "window" that had THAT many buttons on it...the thin column of 6 Stream Deck icons is just about perfect for staying out of your way until you need it. The only thing I'm not 100% sold on is the shift-text layout on the keycaps themselves. The font is nice and bold and VERY easy to read, but the shift-text characters for the number and punctuation keys are printed side-by-side rather vertically (though this is not the case for the dedicated numpad keys). It's a bit of an atypical design choice that makes those keys look kind of crowded and just a bit "wrong" to me...but it doesn't affect functionality in the slightest, and it's not like I'm confused by the change (i.e. hey, what happened to the ampersand?). That incredibly minor stylistic quirk aside, the K95 RGB Platinum XT is one amazing piece of gaming finery that happens to pull double duty as a very satisfying keyboard for regular productivity work, and again as a Stream Deck mini for those of you in the market. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

It's hard to think of anything not to like with this Corsair K95 RGB Platinum XT wired keyboard. The gamer in our family has always liked Corsair's previous models of gaming keyboards. So no surprise that the build quality is great as usual and the RGB lighting effects with 19-zone LightEdge provide a cool illumination. The keyboard is a good companion to the Corsair Scimitar mouse that also features customizable RGB backlighting.
The 100% Cherry MX Speed RGB keyswitches are fast. Six dedicated macro keys can be customized. Options offer complex macros and key remaps or use the included S-key keycaps and utilize integrated Elgato Stream Deck Software. The aluminum volume roller has a nice feel to it and is a Corsair feature that is nice to have. The leatherette palm rest is super comfortable and an improvement over prior keyboards.
There is no hesitation in recommending this K95 keyboard. Corsair has always put out great products for gamers and this keyboard has a lot to offer. It won't disappoint.

Lovely refresh for this 2020 model w/ features worth splurging on. Read on.
Keys (Cherry MX speed) have a great responsive feel which is consistent throughout the entire layout of the device. Come included w/ extra textured keys and streamdeck (blue) keys. Texture on these keys is purrfect btw.
The wrist rest is VERY soft & plush, and facilitates extra long gaming sessions.
Lighting with iCue software is amazing, love being able to sync w/ other Corsair products. Lighting itself is sensational, vast array of colors...infinite choices really, with hues that are warm and bright.
Speaking of hue, you can use the Elgato Stream Deck software to configure any of the 6 extra keys to control your smart home lighting. I have mine set for 4 different color scenes, a on/off, and then max brightness.
I feel like a maestro when I am behind this keyboard!
Possibilities are endless with those keys, from basic to advanced stream controls, computer controls, post to twitter, Xsplit, Spotify, Phillips Hue, etc. There are TONS actions that can be added.
Very happy w/ this keyboard, you will be too!

If I were rating just the keyboard, this would easily be a 5 star. Typing on this thing is simply a joy. The keys are responsive, it feels solid (most modern keyboards feel like they will break if you look at them wrong, this feels like it really will stand up to the million keystrokes promised), and hey, what can I say, mechanical keyboards just sound cool. The wrist rest is a nice added touch. I mainly got this for productive reasons, I have to type a lot for work and this is absolutely great for it.
The software is where this falls short. I got this keyboard in particular, because I've been gaming casually for a while now, and wanted to get more into it. If we are just looking at hardware, this is great for gaming (it even comes with replaceable WASD keys that have a better grip for gaming, nice touch), but I got this because it advertises that it comes with iCue and works with Elgato Stream Deck. I actually kind of like iCue, it is fairly intuitive and easy to use, but Elgato Stream Deck is a bit of a mess. This may just be user error, but I really had trouble getting anything set up in it. Maybe for someone more experienced in Stream Deck this wouldn't be an issue, but for someone just starting, it isn't very user-friendly.
Bottom line, as a keyboard, this is definitely top of the line, I can't recommend it highly enough. As a way to get into streaming, this isn't the worst choice, but you might be able to find better.

I have several Gaming style keyboards (and other as well) but jumped at the chance to test out this juggernaut. Out of the box you know you have something special. The unit is very well built, has a snap on / off wrist support, and requires 2 USB ports for use. It feels like something Elon Musk would use to send email, just saying. At the vendor's recommendation I downloaded the Elgato stream deck and Corsair Icue software packages (free). The integration applications for the Elgato stream deck and the button features was / is very cool. I personally watch Twitch like most people watch the news or ESPN. I would stream myself but, I am also a realist and I tend to be neither really exceptional at games and or able to provide stellar content so.... That said, I know what it takes and this keyboard with this software is WHAT IT TAKES. I do however like to have the ability of a quick tap when I want to live stream, take a screen shot, and I want to make sure I have the right gear to make it all work well. The next software I played around with was the Icue software from Corsair. Like any RGB product the K95 has a world of option and color schemes to choose from (check out the rain one, omg). Even though I may not be the best at games, I am not a trash can and hold my own. This keyboard's response and feel put me into next level gaming. Perhaps during my few test runs I was just feeling the hype of "Something New" or maybe I have found my sweet spot and will be a goat moving forward. I am not saying either way just that this is a phenomenal keyboard and I will flex that I have it. GET THIS KEYBOARD - end review

The Corsair K95 RGB Platinum XT keyboard was designed with the must have features for competitive gaming and streaming. I think Corsair is a gold standard when it comes to making a quality and well thought-out product.
Pros:
* Cherry MX switches: As with other top keyboards, this keyboard boasts linear cherry MX switches. These are in my opinion the best switch for gaming as they are the most responsive. The keys are fairly quite and do not make the "traditional clicking sound" mechanical keyboards are known for. They also have a subtle texture (especially the space bar) which I found nice.
* Aesthetics: All I can say is WOW. This keyboard is absolutely gorgeous. It has a nice dark brushed aluminum look with stunning RGB backlighting.
* Software: It uses the Corsair iCUE interface which is user friendly and allows you to fully customize the keyboard. It has 5 preset profiles and of course the ability to add your own. There is an actions tab which allows you to macro any key with some pretty advanced commands. This comes in handy when performing combo movements/actions in games. Lastly, there is a performance tab that allows you to disable key combinations such as alt + tab and set the lock indicator colors. The iCUE software interfaces with other Corsair products for full system synchronization.
* USB Passthrough: This keyboard requires 2 USB slots on the motherboard. It offers a USB passthrough on the back middle of the keyboard.
* Media Keys: In the top right corner of the keyboard there is a rolling volume adjust and mute button. In the top left corner there are profile, lights on/off, and windows key lock buttons.
* Packaging: A nice looking box with minimal packaging. This is always a plus for me as it is respectful towards the environment. Way to go Corsair!
Intermediate:
* Ergonomics: While this keyboard comes with a click in cushioned leatherette palm rest which I found nice, the key spacing feels off. I think this is because the Stream Deck software integrated buttons are to the left of the keys (TAB/CAPS/etc). When I place my hands on the keyboard, they do not line up with the asdf and jkl; keys naturally. I would prefer the stream deck keys to be placed on the top left and to move the three keys (profile, lights on/off, and windows key lock) next to the other media keys. This is my first keyboard with keys to the left of TAB so maybe with continued use I will get used to it.
Overall:
Overall, I think Corsair hit all the marks when designing a keyboard for gamers and streamers. It has nice integrations, easy to use software, and a high quality build. I have owned many Corsair products in the past and will continue to do so as they are leaders in the industry.

In my exodus from Logitech gear, I started looking at options with Corsair and found this keyboard. My requirement was to have individually lit RGB keys, mechanical switches and some Macro keys. Nothing too demanding. This keyboard does it all and a little bit more.
The keys have a nice feel to them. Corsair provides some keycaps to replace the WASD keys with grey textured and slanted keys so make them more pronounced when blindly feeling for them during gaming sessions. You can also swap out the grey/silver macro keys for blue ones. Even better, there are key cap sets online that are compatible with this keyboard.
The lighting is phenomenal and in addition to the keys being lit, there is a light bar on the back of the keyboard that has fully customizable zones. All of this can be done in iCue, which is miles better than the Logitech G-Hub software.
The wrist wrest is an optional addition and it is very comfortable. As someone with carpal tunnel syndrome, I appreciate it when keyboard manufacturers include a soft removable rest vs a hard built-in one (I'm looking at you Logitech G910). The back of the keyboard offers one USB 3.0 port which would explain why the cable is so thick and offers 2 ports. Seriously, that's a nice braided cord!

Pros:
-Cherry MX silver switches
-Sturdy Keycaps with textured grip
-Macro keys
-Comfortable pleather wrist rest
-Volume controls
-Highly customizable RGB lighting
-Heavy and sturdy build quality
-Typing is comfortable
-Switches aren't too loud (similar to MX Red)
Cons:
-PRICE
-Brushed black metal is fingerprint and dust magnet
-Takes up a lot of space
I personally love this keyboard. While the price isn't very affordable, I do a lot of typing for college and I use the keyboard for gaming, so, having this premium peripheral provides a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Just a side note: in order for this keyboard to run properly, it requires the simultaneous occupation of two USB A ports. One powers the RGB lighting and the other powers the keyboard itself. While you could probably just use the cable for the keyboard power, choosing to do so partially defeats the purpose of buying this keyboard since one of its main features is its RGB lighting. Additionally, Corsair recommends plugging in both cables to ensure proper functionality.

An RGB keyboard—an absolute joy to use

Overall— this is a beautiful keyboard! Fantastic build quality! A solid brushed aluminum frame that should last for many years. So far a very positive experience. The extra key caps are icing on the cake. Only wish I could buy the same key caps for the rest of the keyboard.
Aesthetics— Just beautiful. Beautifully backlit keys shine more than enough for use in both day or night, although you’d find more gratification of its luminosity at night. Under the highest brightness, and due to the light that shines into my desk environment some colors appear washed out.
Software— The software is top notch. Customization is almost limitless. My biggest issue, and it’s probably an isolated issue, is customizing and cycling through the onboard profiles. I can only seem to cycle the iCue profiles which change the RGB fans/LEDS/AiO colors. The only time I can change with the onboard profiles is during the boot sequence or in the BIOS. The onboard profiles change the profile key color from blue, red, green, yellow, and purple if I’m not mistake (not in that specific order).
The Stream deck integrated functionality is amazing (and this is from someone who doesn’t stream, create videos, or any other content creation). For someone like me, the amount of functionality capable is overkill. I’ve only been able to meaningfully use key-binds but there are so many possibilities from posting to twitch, controlling smart lights, starting other apps, opening a specific local video/audio file, and beyond.
Performance/Features/Setup— The wrist rest included with this is perfect. Not too soft but neither hard. The leathery like material feels cool to the touch and hasn’t made the base of my palms sweaty during gaming sessions. The keyboard, for the most part, is relatively silent compared to other mechanical keyboards I’ve used. Customizing the keys for gaming is relatively easy. The least intuitive thing (coming from someone who hardly ever reads instruction manuals) is selecting specific keys to be a set color. “CTRL” + selecting the keys on the onscreen keyboard in the iCue app will accomplish this. In my case I setup WASD to be red, QERF for blue, CTRL ALT Space for green and a dimly lit keyboard for white. This along with the LOCK key at the top of the keyboard is my preferred setup for gaming. Also, a note about the LOCK key at the top. Toggling it prevents OS keys from activating certain functions. I do wish it prevented most OS embedded key commands however. It only prevents the windows key from bringing up the start menu. It doesn’t prevent (the oldest trick in the book) ALT+F4, CTRL+W, the minimize or maximize keystrokes from functioning. The braided 3.0 USB cable is lengthy enough for most setups. I’ve used this keyboard on a traditional desk environment but also in a less traditional living room entertainment setup. The USB cable measures around 5’ - 6’.
My biggest gripe with the USB cable is that the packaging states it requires 2 USB 3.0 ports but the passthru port is only a 2.0.
The keys responsiveness is amazing, very quick. I’ll often be typing something out and in the middle of the sentence or phrase my mind suddenly shifts the wording. My fingers will shift to type out the new phrase but many times I’ll have barely tapped on a previous word structures key and it’ll pick it up. I’m literally talking about a tap where the key hardly moves, that’s how responsive it is.
Overall, I highly recommend any gamer or anyone looking for an ergonomic keyboard to buy this. This just packs a little more of a punch than your typical ergonomic keyboard.

This keyboard is mechanical, utilizing Cherry MX Speed switches, which are quiet and require less travel than other Cherry MX switches to activate the keystroke, while still maintaining that "clicky" mechanical keyboard feel!
The LED illumination on these keys are fantastically bright and intense and can be controlled at the key level if you want utilizing the iCue software. I have multiple Corsair products that all use this same application and all are "linked" together to be controlled and create a colorful "flow" from one device to the next (keyboard, mouse, headset, RAM).
As I mentioned before, these are a lot more quiet than all other Cherry MX switches I've used, which is great because I tend to be on the computer while my wife is sleeping and with how hard I bang on the keys I've been known to wake her up a time or two.
There's other software that can integrate with the keyboard, Elgato Stream Deck, which honestly I won't be doing much which as much as I game, I really don't stream my gaming sessions.
With this refresh of the K95 the wrist rest is significantly more "squishy" and comfortable over previous versions. This is a definite plus over the old model.
There are media controls available, of which I use the volume roller the most. It's a nice metal bar that rolls up/down to adjust your volume above the numeric keypad.
And lastly - there is a USB plug on the back. This is good because the keyboard uses two USB ports on your PC - this frees one up that it took for you to plug in whatever device you need to.
Absolutely FANTASTIC keyboard Corsair - nothing to not love about this! KUDOS!

I love my k95 platinum. i have an all corsair system now, and it's nice to sync everything up. Also, it's way better than my old evga mechanical. also, moving everything else away from razer. Razer has vulnerabilites for a while now that they still haven't fixed. The color mgmt is probably a little better on razer, but you can manage your whole system with icue.

Excellent feeling, great looking, high quality build, RGB is excellent. CORSIAR software (icue) is horrible. I get my RGB control through SignalRGB and Icue doesn't have the right compatability for me to be able to use the rest of my rgb system and be able to use the hot keys on this keyboard. So i could've gotten the k70 or whatever and had the same keyboard; functionally speaking. So other than not being able to use the hotkeys, which is my choice to not use icue since i wouldnt be able to run full RGB on my other components through icue, this keyboard is the bees knees, its awesome, feels amazingly smooth, the colors are vibrant and beautiful and there are TONS of leds in it, which makes a very vivid color scene, which is much more interesting than the case fans and other rgb alone. If you want a fuller rgb setup, this keyboard is for you. If you want a smooth even keystroke set, which the package also has a custom set of gaming keys to help make wasd area have better control and blind feeling for the keys easier....then this board is for you. Its also fast, make sure to set your settings to 1000, default is like 400 or something. Reviews said that 1000 is the standard...for now...for gaming...but the k100 has 5000 capabilities, but its ahead of its time and most games dont support more than 1000. So even when stuff catches up, and 5000 is a more prominent achievable setting in games, this 1000 speed will still be useful and relevant. Either way. If you aren't a pro gamer (i know I'm not) then 5000 doesnt really matter (if you are a pro gamer then why are you reading this? Im sure your sponsor gave you the hottest over the top keyboard they offer already lol), but it's very nice to not have input lag when trying to enjoy a night of gaming and not a night of getting beat up on every game you play. And 1000 is so fast i can't tell that there is any lag at all. Which is something i learned i was missing...because i bought this excellent keyboard and was taught how slow my old one was!
So to wrap it up, buy it if the basic keyboard features fit your needs. You’ll have a long lasting, visually dazzling, smooth and fast, customizable keyboard that will show you what your old setup was missing by providing it. Now if they could just fix icue to be more inclusive to 3rd party software and retain the features i paid for, then i'd give 5 stars in a heart beat.
Fyi, my old logitech keyb. didnt have rgb but the logitech software allowed me to run the hot keys easily, so if you want to use icue for everything (features and RGB) then this keyboard will function as advertised. If not, then you lose the hotkeys...for now. Hopefully an update will patch the issue of icue not allowing really cool software like signalrgb to work along side it. I my investment for hotkeys will pay off.

This is the best keyboard that I have ever used!!!!
Corsair's K95 RGB Platinum XT... Announced at CES 2020, the K95 RGB Platinum XT brings back everything gamers love about the original K95—the smooth typing action, the well-placed lighting, the USB pass-through, and dedicated macro keys—while strengthening some of its weaker points, such as adding more onboard profiles and a new padded wrist rest. The biggest improvement, though, comes courtesy of Corsair's new(ish) streaming gear subsidiary Elgato: The XT's macro keys are compatible with Elgato's Stream Deck software, allowing you to use the extra keys as a mini six-key video switcher. These are all nice touches, but shake out to a relatively small update—more of a refresh than a true successor or reason to replace your existing K95 Platinum. But it's a superb buy for K95 first-timers.
Most functions of the K95 RGB Platinum XT are tied to Corsair's configuration software, iCue. You can use it to set macros, map keys, change the RGB lighting, and create keyboard map profiles that can be tied to specific programs.

Great keyboard. Got it because the keys weren’t as clicks (I like them quiet and quick). I easily learned M&K as a new PC gamer with this keyboard. The hotkeys are a nice tough. Also got it because the wrist pad was appealing. The pad had a line of indentation that we thought might be intentional stitching, but it looks like the packaging or manufacturing otherwise warped it. Not a big enough deal to swap it, just noting it as the only flaw I’ve noticed so far. RGB looks great; I like the Corsair rain profile. It is compatible with all of the components in my setup.
