Bad choice for 3080/3090/miners– 2PCIe cables.

Was going to give it a 3 or so but honestly I can’t even manage that. This series is so unbelievable to me. Many downgrades from the previous rm850 and it is at this point 20 or so dollars more. Returning mine and waiting for the old 850 to ship. Main complaint is noise and a very strange cable layout. Be careful as other reviews have pointed out. They are now shipping with 2!! PCIe daisy chained connectors vs the 4 that they originally shipped with. Although there are 5 8 pin connectors on the PSU you have to bug Corsair support if you want to run a 3x 8pin card with dedicated cables. Strangely they ship with 3 EPS/ATX 12v cables that I can’t come up with any reasonable use case for.

It works like a power supply should, but it’s unbearably loud—louder than all of my power supplies, louder than an ancient dell computer you’d see dime a dozen in elementary schools. the weird thing? It’s not heating up. Nothing seems to be wrong about it, the fans just go from super quiet in bios setup to maximum overdrive as soon as i get into windows. maybe i did something wrong? i used all the cords out of the box and tried as hard as i could to brute force all the power supply plugs as snugly as possible. If I’m doing something wrong, please give me your insight i just cant believe this power supply ended up sounding worse than my starter one from 2015.

I recently had the opportunity to test the Corsair RM850x power supply unit (PSU) for my custom-built PC, and it has left a lasting impression on me. This PSU stands out for its exceptional performance, build quality, and reliability, making it a top-tier choice for both gamers and professionals. First and foremost, the RM850x boasts an 80 PLUS Gold certification, ensuring high energy efficiency. This means less wasted power and lower electricity bills, which is always a plus. The unit delivers a stable and consistent 850 watts of power, making it suitable for high-performance setups, including those with multiple GPUs and power-hungry components. One of the standout features of this PSU is its fully modular design. The ability to connect only the cables you need helps reduce clutter and improves airflow within the case. This not only makes the build look cleaner but can also contribute to better cooling performance, which is critical for maintaining system stability. The build quality of the RM850x is evident right out of the box. It has a solid and durable construction that inspires confidence. The fan operates quietly, even under heavy load, thanks to Corsair's Zero RPM Fan Mode. This feature keeps the fan off during low to medium loads, ensuring silent operation when your PC is idling or performing light tasks. Additionally, the comprehensive set of protections, including over-voltage, under-voltage, short circuit, and over-current protection, ensures that your components are safe from power-related mishaps. This level of protection is crucial for safeguarding valuable components, especially in high-performance systems. Installation was a breeze, thanks to the clear and concise instructions provided by Corsair. The inclusion of high-quality, sleeved cables made cable management straightforward, and the PSU fit perfectly into my mid-tower case. In conclusion, the Corsair RM850x power supply unit is an outstanding choice for anyone looking to build a high-performance, reliable, and efficient PC. Its blend of power, efficiency, and quality makes it worth every penny. Whether you're a gamer, content creator, or professional, this PSU is sure to meet and exceed your expectations.

    Love Consistency

My rig was in desperate need of an upgraded GPU. The previous GPU only required an 8-pin power supply. When I purchased my new GPU, the product data suggested an 850 (or greater) power supply. The new GPU also required 24-pin power. I already owned a Corsair 750M and have had zero issues with it. Consistent performance and absolutely zero problems made the decision to purchase another Corsair product very easy. In addition to the actual power supply unit, this model includes One (1) ATX 24-pin, Three (3) EPS/ATX12V 8-pin (6 + 2), Two (2) PCIe 8-pin (6 + 2), One (1) Peripheral 4-pin, Two (2) SATA (3 SATA), and Two (2) SATA (4 SATA) cords. The PSU fits in any standard case and is providing plenty of power to my rig. I would highly recommend this product.

One of the best power supplies on the market. Easy to install and cable manage since it's fully modular. Gold rating so you can feel a little less guilty about how much power your pc uses. Actually priced reasonably unlike most of Corsair's stuff. Powers my 3080Ti with no problems.

Corsair and EVGA have always been the gold standard for power supplies as far as my experience goes. Now that EVGA is slowing down operations, I'm glad that Corsair still makes stellar power supplies - and this one is no exception. No issues running a 7800x3D and 7800xt. Operation is very quiet and the cables supplied are pretty sturdy and well built. Installation was simple enough as usual. Thanks Corsair!

This works great! I’ve used it for about 6 months now. It comes with plenty of cables for most people and they’re all high quality. This thing is quiet. It doesn’t make a peep when under full load. Easy to install. I wish it came with one extra PCIe 8pin cable, it includes 2 in the box. Fully modular is always nice and this makes it a breeze. Gold certified and rated highly on the PSU tier list.

This thing is great. As someone with almost no building experience, it was a pretty simple installation. You can pick and choose which cables you want to put in, and it comes with TONS of different cables so you can really go wild. There's not much to say about performance... It's a power supply. That's it. The most notable thing I'd mention is that the PSU is a 0 RPM supply, meaning that it's dead silent. Obviously if you put your ear to it, you hear some hums, but upon replacing the power supply of my old prebuilt, it went from a jet fan to a silent killer INSTANTLY. There are also heat-resistant zip ties, and the cables all come in sleeves, so it looks great for a standard black build (or black and white if that's what you're going for).

Im extremely satisfied with this purchase. I had an older model power supply that had died, and it was a model that had all of the cabling hard-wired to the unit. This power supply had ports that allow you to opt into whatever power needs your rig may need, which really helped when it came to cable management. I installed this power supply about a month ago, and its running smoothly with no problems. Its also pretty quiet, even with the fan running.

If you're looking for a modular PSU, this is it! It has more than enough cable options for any high performance PC that has power requirement below 750W. (It's best to have some margin). Fans has too silent, I've never heard those even once in my usage for about a year now. I'm using this PSU with i7-12700KF and RTX 3060 (3x Fans) and a bunch of other stuff but that's the major highlight.

This is the second psu I’ve bought from Corsair and it was the same model as this. Works great and you have plenty of headroom for upgrades if you are in the mid-high range builds. 850 works perfect. Only reason to go higher is to “future proof” for when nvidia starts making bigger watt guzzling gpus.
