Corsair, you are my hero. I had just finished filing an RMA claim with another gaming PC brand whose gaming desktop had failed on me during when Best Buy decided to introduce us. And boy am I glad they did. Knight in RGB Armor...Love at First Sight...or any other cliche with a tech twist you can fit here. Corsair is my hero, and if you step in to your local Best Buy, they can be your hero too!
First of all, spec wise, this PC is a monster. The Intel I5-13600KF, RTX3070 GPU, 32...yes THIRTY TWO...GB of DDR5 ram, and an SSD as the tech god intended. But as we all know, specs don't always equal performance. I have tested plenty of computers and other products that talk a big game on the packaging but fail to deliver outside in the free. I will be honest, I had some doubts about the i5 at first, but after putting her through her paces, I am convinced this is an All Star lineup.
Bringing this PC out of the box started my day off with a smile. A simple, yet elegant design. A case and contents that are assembled with care, and cable management that allows me to show off both the looks and brains of this PC. Initial setup was a breeze. Open the case, remove the impact absorbing packaging with care, close the case, add the wifi antennas, and power her up. Psst....this is where the fun begins!
Upon turning the key on this gaming desktop, she was quiet. We are talking electric car quiet. If the RGB fans didn't light up, I honestly don't think I would have been able to tell if the computer was running. After about 3 minutes making it though the typical windows setup, I was on my way. Something I really appreciate is that this desktop is not preinstalled with a million different bloatware programs. It has the basics plus a couple Corsair make pretty programs. That is it. Speaking of these programs, one of which allows you to really exercise full control over your fan RGB lights. Are these pretty lights the focus of my review? Of course not. But they sure are attractive and deserve to be mentioned. Especially as they can color match whatever is on our display in real time! I digress, however, and we will move on to what is really important: Performance!
This PC is a UFO. Ok, not literally. But if you run a User Benchmark on this PC, you will see what I am talking about! Gaming, Desktop Work, Workstation...this desktop scored well above its counterparts ranging between 160-170% on the performance spectrum, or UFO status as Benchmark calls it. These numbers are impressive for bragging, however they are even more impressive when you see them in action and allow you to run some very high FPS numbers on some of the most demanding games! Although I didn't dive into any custom tuning yet on this PC, I wouldn't afraid to push this PC. At this time, however, it handles everything I throw at it with ease so I don't have a reason to try and improve its performance.
With everything, however, there is always something that likes to act like a proverbial speed bump. When setting up this PC and until present, I have not been able to get my wireless keyboard to work with this PC. It works with all of my other computers perfectly, however no matter which USB port the dongle is connected to, this PC will not recognize it. I am sure this is a small isolated issue that I will be able to rectify with time, however in the event it is more prevalent, I felt it should be mentioned here.
Ultimately, this Corsair Gaming Desktop is here, and will continue to be your best weapon against your enemies as you strikeback...WITH A VENGEANCE!

Love This Corsair Vengeance i7400

I have have been a gamer for about 24 years. At times it was a hobby and an obsession, but always a great source of entertainment. In the past I built many gaming systems but over the years I moved to the prebuilt option. I’ve owned many different brands but I’ve never had a Corsair computer. I have on the other hand owned many Corsair gaming accessories including keyboards, headsets, RAM, and several mouse variations. All of which were exceptional products which helped elevate my gaming to another level. I was therefore thrilled to try this Corsair Vengeance i7400. Spec wise this system looks amazing with an Intel Core i5-13600KF with 6 P-Cores, 8 E-Cores, 20 Threads, 5.10GHz TurboBoost, a Corsair iCUE H60x RGB ELITE liquid cpu cooler, an Asus Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 SI Edition with 8GB of GDDR6, 32GB (2x16GB) Corsair Vengeance DDR5-5600MT/s RAM, and 1TB Corsair MP600 PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD with heatsink. There is also an additional empty NVMe slot for added storage upgrade. Here again this system shames much of the competition that uses lower quality components, less RAM, and lower capacity SSDs that almost immediately demand an upgrade and further monetary investment. On case top front you have access to 1x USB 3.2 generation 1 Type-A port, 1x USB 3.2 generation 2 Type-C port, and a headphone/mic combo jack. Very handy. On the rear you have a PS/2, 4x USB 2.0, 2x USB 3.2 generation 2, 1x USB 3.2 gen 2x2 Type-C, 7.1 audio, 3x DisplayPort, 1x HDMI ports. You also get 2.5G ethernet port, Wi-Fi AC, and Bluetooth 5.1.
Unboxing was exciting as the anticipation of something great waiting within was high. In the box you’ll find the PC, a power cable, 2 wifi antennae, and some minimal paperwork. That’s it! And that alone was thrilling since missing was the insultingly crappy gaming keyboard and mouse that other manufacturers include without shame. Hallelujah! Just buy yourself a Corsair mouse and keyboard. You can’t go wrong and your gaming will be better off for it. I was in love with this system just laying my eyes on the i7400. So many manufacturers fail horribly in case design. Not so here. The Corsair 4000D AIRFLOW mid-tower case is a beauty in its modern sleek appearance and the build quality looks and feels impressive. This build is open and airy with no cables impeding airflow. I couldn’t wait to fire it up. As I removed my prior system from desk it looked dated and pathetic in comparison to this Corsair. I was simply going to use the same power cord until I noticed the included hefty Corsair power cord. Even here Corsair quality impressed me since their cord is what looks to be a 10 gauge heavy duty power cord. Nice attention to detail to efficiently power it’s 750W 80+ Gold fully modular power supply. Prior to powering on make sure you first remove the internal packing materials which support the video card during transport. The tempered glass side panel is well made and substantial so be careful when removing it. It has some weight to it. Once removed you’ll love the view of the black motherboard.
I fell more in love with this system turning it on for the first time as the H60x RGB ELITE liquid CPU cooler and the six SP RGB ELITE fans lit up. This case is a stunner! And it is extremely quiet. Color settings for the fans and cooler can be customized within the Corsair iCue software. The system is barely audible with the liquid cooling and particularly considering 6 fans are running. The Corsair Vengeance DDR5 memory is not RGB. Some may care. I do not. Moving onto setup the included Windows 11 Home edition was typical. I was at the desktop in no time and ready to install my favorite games. With the GeForce RTX 3070 I was confident that I was fine with any games I’m currently playing. On CypberPunk 2077, one of my most demanding games, the Corsair i7400 is capable of 147 fps at 1440p and even 85 fps at 4K resolutions. CrystalDiskMark benchmark results for the P600 SSD were an impressive 5013.47 MB/s read and 4045.05 MB/s write speeds. I always jump on my most often played games to judge real performance and here I could definitely sense a new level of responsiveness and fluidity which ultimately resulted in making my gameplay more competitive. I was tempted to brag to my opponents that I had a new rig but that’s my secret weapon. They don’t need to know why I’m owning them. Highly recommended.
