Great weight, amazing sound quality. The control features like the twist volume and power switches feel incredibly high quality. I like the top of the head padding. Might just be me but I noticed that when I let the battery get too low and the headset dies, charging it won't allow it to successfully reconnect to my PC even though my PC says connected and I have to restart my PC to be able to successfully receive audio. I like that the microphone is removable Still struggling after w couple months getting used to the controls as only the mute button is easy to find effortlessly

This headset sounds incredible. The audio is clear, the bass is punchy without being muddy, and the spatial sound works great for gaming. It’s extremely comfortable for long sessions and the build quality feels premium. The mic is crisp too. Easily one of the best wireless headsets I’ve owned.

Won’t Connect On XBOX!+Extra $ To Use Dolby Atmos!

OK, in my world, $330.00 is A LOT of buckaroonies for a set of headphones with a mic. So I expect big things from something in this premium tier and I at least expect them to operate on the system that is IN THE PRODUCT TITLE! These “connected” to my XBOX, once…and it was a choppy, in and out connection, playing the audio from a test video through the Dolby Atmos App on the XBOX and it lasted about a minute and a half and I have never been able to get audio out of them again from my XBOX. Furthermore, I think I would have popped a vein in my forehead if I laid out $330 for these and the first thing that happened when I plugged them in was that I was (FORCED) expected to pay another $15 to have access to Dolby Atmos past the 7 day free trial! Well, only if you want them to work as advertised and get the most out of them. You know, the entire reason they were purchased. A code for Dolby Atmos SHOULD BE INCLUDED with the headset at this price. Even Dolby thinks so because I was asked for my Dolby Code from Corsair but there wasn’t one anywhere that I could find. There is a free one month of XBOX Game Pass included, which is great and all, but this is an audio device and it screams and shouts how great it is with Dolby and then I’m expected to cough up even more cash to buy a Dolby Access after spending huge on the headset that uses Dolby. Doesn’t make sense and as a consumer it feels shifty and like a shake down to have something that like done to me after spending big on a “premium product.” It is like “Well, I already spent all this on the headset, I DON’T want to spend more but, I guess I have to shell out another $15 if I want to get the most out of them…and I do because I spent a lot on them!” I am not well pleased with how that all shook out when I unboxed these and I feel, personally, that it is bad business practice to do that to customers. Anyway, the XBOX knows it is connected because when I turn on the headset, I hear the XBOX welcome chime and the room speakers shut down to put audio to the headset. It shows up on the XBOX as a connected device with an active connection. The dongle just never delivers the audio, actually to the headset and it struggled to do it for the one minute of choppy audio that it did actually pass to the headset upon the initial connection. If I turn off the headset, the room speaker start working again. I messed with this for DAYS! I reset my Xbox audio setting, I tried every combination of audio settings, I even turned the Xbox around so the dongle was facing me and I get NOTHING. Not a crackle, hiss, or even an inkling of audio past the welcome chime when first powered up. Being that these are Titled and Marketed as an XBOX HEADSET, at the very least they should work on an XBOX….and THEY DO NOT! (Yes, I did all the firmware and software updates on a PC first like I was instructed to do and this still happened.) Firmware v.0.30.326/v.0.24.133 has not resolved anything and that was released today, after having these for 2 weeks already. To this day these will not pass audio from the dongle to the headset from my XBOX but they show as connected and the room speakers turn off when these are “connected” but I hear NOTHING from the XBOX. So THAT being the case these are a FAIL for me because they are marketed as a Premium XBOX Headset. Now, on a PC these work as they should. They connect and the audio is passed from the dongle to the headset just fine. No noticeable lag and people have said that my mic sounds good; that it is clear and I am easy to hear. On self test is sounds “OK” but it chops if I increase my speaking volume or enthusiasm. It is not dynamic and tries to pull the louder voice down to the set level. The iCUE software is So OUTDATED and to be honest, pretty lame. I am still considering the premium price point of these with all of my comments and viewpoints in this review. Yes, the iCUE software allows the RGB colors to be “customized” to what the user wants, but they are limited in choice to 6 animations and there are a few other small controls for the headset and dongle but nowhere near the options or amount of control I expected from a premium headset software suite. Options are pretty limited actually. iCUE is mainly a system monitoring based software with headset control functions mashed into it. There are better options like Armory Crate and so forth to monitor with and iCUE actually is cumbersome and interferes with the more preferred monitoring software options that I’d rather be running. All that is really needed is a simple app to customize the LEDs (with way more options), settings access and EQ adjustment! No one I know, that games, needs another system monitor software title on their gaming PC…especially iCUE. So all that said and I am pretty down on these and had I bought them as a regular purchase I would have absolutely RAN to the store and returned them to get my money back. The sound is good and the performance is what I would expect at this level…mostly. First off, the max volume is not all that loud. Second is that on certain bass frequencies, something is rattling/buzzing in the right side mostly but happens on the left too sometimes. If I place my hand on the ear cup, I can make it stop but that is REALLY ANNOYING to hear and have to deal with on a supposed “premium headphone.” Audiophiles would notice this immediately. The average non-picky person would notice it but not pick up on it for a while, but when it is figured out, there is no ignoring it because you know it is there and why it is happening. The EQ controls in iCUE are decent and fine tuning over 10 frequency bands is nice to have. The EQ and Mic setting also play nice with NVIDIA integrations within the iCUE software. 3D spatial sound is replicated nicely and for game play, things like footsteps and mechanical sounds like doors and weapon manipulation are clear and isolated properly in the sound space. Each ear cup has a big wheel that spins around the outside to control volume and they can be set to Game Volume, Chat Volume or Bluetooth Volume control. The headset can be connected to the dongle and a separate Bluetooth device At the same time and play the audio from both sources at the same time, blended, which I really like. I can listen to the audio of a movie set at a certain volume at the same time as my higher volume game play audio. This is a nice feature. I also used these to take some phone calls here and there and no one ever said anything to me about not being able to hear me…so these can function as a bluetooth connection for a cell phone also. The ear cups are covered in cloth and not a (p)leather and while this is more comfortable, I can see this being a really hard to keep clean and not stinky thing. Especially because the cloth will pick up sweat and oils from around the ear and temple regions. I like that the boom mic can be easily detached when not needed but I can also see this being really easy to misplace. On headset controls are limited…but also easy to access and learn. All the basics are covered and there are not a lot of buttons all in one spot to “feel through” to figure out what to press. The Mic has a dedicated on and off button right on it and it also has an LED that can be activated to show if the mic is muted or not…but that light can be turned off and the mic can still be muted and unmuted without a visual cue. I can see people being happy with these but for me these were a HUGE let down in more ways than one considering the premium position of these in the marketplace. I thank CORSAIR for the opportunity to test and review but I will call it out when I see something lacking. They won’t connect to my XBOX and they are an “XBOX Headset.” The purchase of Dolby Atmos as an EXTRA Cost right out of the box still has me irritated. The lack of remapping options for the buttons on the headset is disappointing and the max volume not being that loud combined with that bass rattling issue puts these clearly in the “No Go Zone” for me. Basically, I would not tell a family member or my best friend to run out and buy these. I do like them enough at this price to recommend them knowing that another purchase is needed IMMEDIATELY out of the box to get them to run Dolby on Xbox…IF they would even properly work with the XBOX. TOO MUCH MONEY FOR TOO LITTLE PERFORMANCE and extra money has to be spent to access Dolby. So these are a Hard “NOPE” from me at the moment. I can only speak for the set that is in hand…maybe they are defective and the majority work with XBOX, but mine DO NOT and everything else negative, is still a negative.

I have been using the Audeze Maxwell, Turtle Beach Stealth Pro, and Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless over the past two years. Sound quality wise, these are on par with the Maxwells, maybe even better due to the ANC with the right EQ adjustments. Also, the mic is very clear and works very well. The only negatives are (1) it can create some fatigue when wearing them for up to 4 hours straight and (2) there is no manual so you have to figure out how to do everything through trial and error. Even the Corsair website did not list this model (at the time of writing this review on 10/15/2024). Regardless, overall a really good headset and I plan to use this as my main daily driver.

Well, I’ll start off by saying this is a great sounding headset. I first heard it at the Best Buy demo station. Sounded better than all the other headsets. In real life, the sound is indeed excellent. Love the Dolby Atmos. I was hearing details I never heard in any of my other headsets. Bass was decent. Software was simple and not weighted down. Mic was pretty good. The two things that stop this head from 5 stars are the uncomfortable ear cups (which you can swap with aftermarket) and most importantly for gaming IMO, a true chat mix. The volume rotaries are pretty neat, but one is for USB connection and the other Bluetooth. I would have thought the one volume control could have been enough for both of these in its perspective mode and make the other one a chat mix. Maybe one day? I ended up getting some Audeze Maxwell’s while I had these and the are just a very tad better in every category and have a chat mix. If chat mix isn’t a big deal and these are on sale, jump on them! (Were on sale for $100 off when I purchased)

Seriously Impressed! Okay, so I took the plunge and bought the Corsair Virtuoso MAX after seeing all the features listed on Best Buy. And let me tell you, I'm absolutely blown away! First off, the sound quality is incredible. They weren't kidding about those 50mm Graphene drivers. Everything sounds so clear and detailed, whether I'm playing a game or listening to music. I can hear subtle nuances in the audio that I never noticed before with my old headset. The Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio is a game-changer. It's so immersive! I feel like I'm actually in the game. I can pinpoint exactly where sounds are coming from, which is a huge advantage in competitive games. It's also fantastic for watching movies – it really adds to the cinematic experience. The microphone is crystal clear. My friends say I sound like I'm right next to them, even when there's background noise. I haven't had any complaints about static or muffled audio, which is a huge plus. And the Active Noise Cancellation? It's amazing! It blocks out all the distractions, so I can really focus on my game. It's perfect for those late-night gaming sessions when the rest of the house is asleep. My Verdict: Honestly, I'm really impressed with the Corsair Virtuoso MAX. It's definitely worth the investment. The sound quality is top-notch, the microphone is clear, and the noise cancellation is fantastic. If you're looking for a premium gaming headset, I highly recommend giving this one a try. I'm so glad I did! If you're on the fence, just go for it! You won't be disappointed.

This product is excellent in quality. It is a little heavy but other than that it is great. I have used it for playing video games and connecting to my phone. The feature to connect to both is really useful. Using the corsair software to change the settings and rgb is always nice as well. It allows for nice customization.

I was looking for a headset that could connect to Xbox, PS5, and PC. This headset does just that and more. Initially, I made the mistake of purchasing the non-Xbox version. Connecting to devices is quite easy using the provided dongle. It also has Bluetooth functionality. Xbox offers Dolby surround sound, while PS5 provides 3D audio. Although it is a bit pricey, I consider it well worth it considering it eliminates the need for multiple headsets. The audio quality is top-notch, and I would even say it surpasses that of Apple Beats.

The only downsides is that the customization features are exclusive to PC and the weight of the headset is a little noticable if worn for long periods of time. That bring said, the comfortablility of the headset is amazing, the structure and material of the ear cups make for a 24/7 snug feeling that I promise you’ll appreciate. The bluetooth is nearly effortless once you set it up (with some issues for xbox connectibility the first time you use it). It connects up to two devices and the sound quality is amazing, the volume slider on the right allows you to lower or increace the sound on the console or pc while the volume on the phone doesn’t get altered unless you adjust it using the phone itself.
