The absolute best headset I ever bought. The only problem I had was that I had dropped it and the sliding button to turn it on and activate the Bluetooth got jammed in. I was able to unjam it and it works great still.

I really wanted this headset. It has a very premium look and feel to it. Unfortunately, I was never able to use it on my Xbox because on three separate headsets that I purchased the wrong USB transmitter was included. There is a PC/PS5 version that does not work with the Xbox and somehow on all 3 headsets the transmitter for that model ended up with the Xbox headset. The first time I contacted Corsair they couldn’t care less and even sent me a survey on how they did without ever even responding to my initial concern. The second time they appeared to be on it and had the USB transmitter shipped to me. However, the transmitter they shipped to me was the same one I already had, which means I still couldn’t use them on my Xbox. I quickly emailed Corsair about the problem and they said they see I received the transmitter and the matter was now closed. I returned the headset for the last time the following day. I don’t know if the headset is any good for the Xbox, but I do know Corsair is terrible at quality control and customer service.

I have used Corsair headsets for gaming and for PC communication for a while, mainly because I have yet to find microphones on headsets as good as Corsair’s, in my opinion. The Virtuoso Max headset continues this experience for me, and promises to give a much improved sound quality as well. This is the first Corsair headset I’ve had that includes active noise cancellation and transparency functions also. I have to say the active noise cancellation was not something I considered a need for how I use this headset, mainly because the passive noise isolation in these headsets tends to be way more than sufficient. The ANC in the Virtuoso Max works pretty well, as does the transparency, but it’s not high on my list of effective. Sound wise, this headset boasts Dolby Atmos support, and how this shows up for me when connected to my Xbox is a more airy feel to the overall soundtrack, but I wouldn’t say this is a cinematic experience. Solid performance but not worth the premium price I think. Connectivity for the Virtuoso Max is great. It allows for simultaneous connections of RF and Bluetooth, and this allows you to have separate chat feed with the soundtrack of your gaming. I didn’t realize how great this was until I began using it. You can set volumes differently on each source, and in fact the headset itself has two separate controls to do this. There are dials on each ear cup that rotate similar to older style volume dials and give a satisfying feedback when you adjust each feed volume. I really like this experience. The headset is on the heavier side, and this is something I am trying to understand, using materials like metal to showcase a high end headset, but at the expense of weight and how it sits on your head. This headset is not the most comfortable for me. Most adjustments, along with firmware updates, are handled through the free companion app that I was already familiar with, called iCue, and is pretty straightforward. It is the command center for all your Corsair devices, and even some compatible lighting systems if you have those. As a tinkerer, I appreciate iCue, it gives you a lot to mess with. Microphone quality is pretty solid, I have gotten positive feedback from friends. Overall, I would say this headset has a lot going for it, does feel premium, but I think that there is a diminishing return from Corsairs other offerings that might be considered mid tier. They would probably be considered a better value with a few compromises. So I would conditionally recommend these, due to Corsair’s tried and true features, but the extras are something I would not spend money for.

Better Comfort and Sound Than The Virtuoso

For anyone who games with any degree of seriousness knows the Corsair name. They are more heavily seen in the PC gaming space than on consoles, but that should really be seen as a positive. The new Virtuosos Max for Xbox is a continuation of the Virtuoso line and the premier series in Corsair's headphone arsenal. I tried the new Max with my Series X and PC. Out of the box, they fit well on my oversized head. A little more snug than I prefer for longer sessions, but I don't get the chance for longer sessions often so for my use they are a good fit. The ear cups are large and easily encompassed my ears comfortably. The headband does have some cushion, but I might have appreciated a little more as I could feel it pressing down firmly on the top of my head despite the memory foam. Sound quality is excellent and on wireless I had zero issues with dropouts or latency on either the Xbox or PC. I would say they sound as good or maybe even slightly better than the Astro A50 I had previously used. Good strong bass, clear midrange, and nice spatial cues with Dolby Atmos engaged. Frankly, this is what you want from a good pair of gaming headphones. They also have active noise cancellation which was seemingly quite good. Wouldn't say it was as good as my Air Pods Max, but for gaming it was fantastic. Lastly, there is a transparency mode, but I found it hard to converse with them on in that mode. I think this might be an issue with the mic, but I don't know for sure. Mic quality was generally good. Some people did say it was hard to understand me and boosting the gain helped, but does introduce some clipping on the other end. Just have to find the sweet spot. Battery life seems great. I have gone 8 hours without any issues and I usually drop them to charge after a session anyways. I was not using the noise cancellation so that might affect things beyond 10 or 12 hours though. Build quality is very good and if taken care of should last for a couple years of solid play. The batteries will more likely fail before the rest of the headphone. On the PC side these are iCue compatible so if you have other Corsair gear lighting can sync and additional control is easily had. Overall, I like them and think they are a premier headset for gaming. They work great on the Xbox and PC alike. So, if you have both these are an easy recommend.

I was pretty excited to get these and try them out. I have had about half a dozen gaming headphones for my XBOX Series X and I always go back to the same pair. The reasons I do will be why I do not like these even though I tried really hard to like them. So, first, I do not like that you need a dongle to connect to. No matter what I did or if I used them on the XBOX or my PC (for updating and such) I could not keep these connected more than 5 or 10 minutes. Pretty frustrating when you are in middle of a match and cannot communicate with your team. I would have to power cycle them a couple of times before they would reconnect properly. This happened on the PC when trying to do the firmware update. Now, they work really well when connected. The dolby atmos settings fire right up and sound excellent. However, when in the game sound setting I did have to max out the volume to hear footsteps and such. I remedy this by changing the sound profile to either my custom EQ or the music setting. Once I did this I actually could turn the sound volume down a touch and they worked well (until they disconnected). They fit well but are not the most comfortable. The band is stiff on top but not horrible. The material is a cloth on the earcups and they do get hot. I noticed this within the first 10 minutes. All the lights work and look cool and it is nice the mic has its own mute light. My team said they sound good and was not harsh nor too loud. The iCUE software is ok, geared more for PC use. They work well on Bluetooth, no issues there and actually sound very good with music. Super quality build and I will say, if I can figure out how to keep them connected, I will use them. As for now, they are my back ups. Again, I prefer my gaming headphones to connect directly to the XBOX as this keeps a nice steady connection......

I recently got the CORSAIR - VIRTUOSO MAX Wireless Headphones for my Xbox Series X, and they have truly transformed my gaming experience! First off, the sound quality is phenomenal. The 50mm Graphene drivers deliver clear, precise sound that makes every game come alive. Whether I’m exploring the vast worlds of Assassin’s Creed or getting into the action in WWE, the audio immersion is amazing…! It’s like having a personal theater right in my living room! One of the best features I like is the Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio. It positions game audio all around you with 3D staging, allowing you to detect every sound cue and hear every intonation of dialogue with multi-directional theater-grade sound. This has added a whole new dimension to my gaming, making it even more immersive. The omni-directional microphone is another great feature. It captures my voice with broadcast-grade clarity, ensuring I stay connected with my team no matter what platform I’m on. The active noise cancellation helps me stay focused by silencing outside noise and distractions. This is the first time I am using the active noise cancellation feature in one of the gaming headphones and I love this. Comfort is key for long gaming sessions, and the VIRTUOSO MAX doesn’t disappoint. I can game for hours without any discomfort, which is perfect for my marathon Assassin’s Creed sessions. On the downside, the headphones are a bit on the pricier side, which might be a consideration for some. Also, they are slightly heavy, which can be noticeable during extended use. But the comfort and sound quality more than make up for these minor drawbacks. Overall, the CORSAIR - VIRTUOSO MAX Wireless Headphones are a fantastic addition to any gaming setup. If you’re looking to elevate your gaming audio, these headphones are a great choice!

I love the build , the comfort, the functions and sound on the Corsair virtuoso max . Although it says Xbox it does work with the PS5, switch, apple, android and PC. So you need the software for either Mac or Windows to update this headset. There is no mobile app at this time. That's one issue I would like to see fixed. The second issue was using Bluetooth and USB mode at the same time . Where it would disconnect me and connect me again over again and again. I'm waiting for the update to fix the issue other than that I love it . Great sound for gaming and watching movies. Comes with Dolby its not a gimmick I turned off that feature on my PC and having Dolby on make a difference. On Xbox it sounded great I love the mic on this too I asked my friends how I sounded and they said it was clearer and they can hear me better. As far as the surround sound yes it helps for shooters. Footsteps crawling etc. The headset does have lights but you have to configure it with the software. The case is nice it hold everything in there nicely

    Amazing Premium Gaming Headset

Wow! The Virtuoso Max from Corsair is an incredible headset. I am primarily an Xbox gamer, but I also play on PC and PS5 occasionally as well. I generally do wear a headset when gaming so others in my house are not blasted by the sound from the tv when I am the only one who needs to hear it, and I have used a pretty wide variety of headsets. This one may be the best though. Sound quality with Dolby Atmos is absolutely top notch. The directional sound in games like Fortnite and Call of Duty is amazing. When playing slower, more intense games where sound is a larger factor, the depth and breadth of sound really brings you in to the experience. I've had Atmos headsets before but I'm not sure any of them were like this. This is a premium product however, so you should expect premium performance. Physically, the headset is a little heavier than some others I've used. However, this does not impact how comfortable it is to wear in extended gaming sessions. The LED lights on the side are very cool looking and can be altered using the iCue software via PC. The boom mic is removable if you want it out of the way when not playing multiplayer games. Very durable physical build. One of my favorite features in a headset is present here... being able to connect to the Xbox AND bluetooth simultaneously. Being able to listen to audio from my phone or even take a call without having to disconnect or pull the headset off is one of the most valuable things a headset can do, and this one does it excellently. Overall, if you are looking for a premium headset option that will work with any system you may want to use, the Corsair Virtuoso Max is an outstanding option for sound quality, build quality, and feature set.

The Corsair Virtuoso Max Wireless for XBOX Gaming Headset is a really nice looking headset. Right out of the box they just look cool. They are also very comfortable. The ear pieces are nicely padded and feel great even after long periods of time. The sound quality is also very crisp with good hear through and sound cancellation. They are easy to adjust and sit nicely on the head. The battery life is adequate and they are easy to charge. Connecting to the computer through Bluetooth was very easy. The headset did not come with directions, but it was easy enough to connect to the computer. Connecting to the Xbox was a bit more confusing. At first, I couldn’t get the Bluetooth to engage after several attempts. I had to reach out to customer support and they quickly sent a guide to explain in detail how to connect to an Xbox. These instructions were very easy to follow and I was able to easily connect to the Xbox. Overall, this headset it really great! Not only does it light up and look cool, but it sounds amazing and is extremely comfortable. I would recommend this gaming headset to anyone. •comfortable •very good looking and clean • high quality Cons •disappointed they require a subscription to use on Xbox

Love this headset. The sound quality and battery life are great. I purchased the Xbox version of this headset and it works well. Make sure you download the latest software updates and drivers to enable this headsets peak performance. Note: You need access to a pc in order to access and install updates.
