Almost a good monitor

The colors are great, the stand is rock solid, and the monitor has a nice overall look. However, I'll be returning this monitor because there's one issue I could not resolve no matter how much I played around with the settings. And that would be contrast. Most ips monitors have about a 1000:1 contrast ratio which is "okay" and an accepted shortcoming of this technology. This monitor seemed much lower than that. There was so much ips screen glow (including a brownish/ yellow glow visible in the lower right while viewing dark screens) that it caused the contrast to suffer quite a bit. My monitor purchased from 2017 turned on and compared side by side confirmed this issue. Corsair almost has a winner with their first monitor, but the low contrast causes quite a bit of detail to be lost in darker games.

Yes, the stand takes up a little too much desk space, but the quality of the screen itself more than makes up for that. The SRGB mode looks accurate to my eyes, but I don't have testing or calibrating equipment. Black levels are solid, motion performance and input lag are great as advertised. I leave mine in the Fast overdrive mode. The OSD is simple and effective. Almost no IPS glow or light bleed and screen uniformity is impressive. A clean understated rear-panel design. Overall, nearly perfect. I had to send my first one back for a dead pixel but the 2nd one looks clean. Nice to know it has a 3 year no-dead-pixel warranty as well. I don't stream but the iCue/Elgato integration will be a nice bonus for many.

The colors are highly over saturated so if you can’t get this calibrated or use hdr colors will always look way off. Really cool cable management and nice rotation as well.

Suprised it didnt have speakers, but thats not a big deal for some people, but for some it would. Overall, i like the monitor, it does its job and so far so good.

Will never go back to alienware again. Dell has ruined alienware quality. The corsair xeneon blows it out of the water.
