I love how quiet this machine operates. It's easy to use, provides a great mist. I think that it can get quite messy when changing/adding the water, but the water can last up to two days or so depending on the setting and if you only use it at night. Setting the amount of mist is a little strange since there isn't an indicator as to what level you're on. You basically have to look at the amount of mist coming out and accept the setting that looks the best. The light that it produces can bother some people, but overall, I think that this is an excellent, well-designed product. Works very well.

This is the second Crane humidifier I have purchased in the past 2 years. First was used mostly for my personal use (due to allergy). I have used the humidifier for the past 2 years daily during sleep hours with no problem whatsoever. Then recently, my child came down with sever congestion due to cold. Doctor recommended a cool mist humidifier to help relieve the congestion. Naturally, i put my first humidifier in his room for couple of days and it worked wonders. Thus, I decided to pick up a second unit for my child as dedicated cool mist humidifier. As mentioned, the design is very aesthetically pleasing for most home decor. The mist can be controlled with simply dial (that turns on/off the unit as well). Usually I set mine at low medium which is enough to increase the humidity level in the room (200 sq ft room) and last about 10hrs. Another great feature is the auto-shut off when the water level drops to very low. This is a great safety and electric saving feature. The mist is immediate once turned on. For optimal use, I recommend using filtered water as this will prevent calcium build up around the unit and provide cleaner mist. Fortunately we have a whole house filter system that helps. Highly recommend this humidifier!

This humidifier works great. Easy to install and fill with water and is very quiet when running. I used the humidity setting about mid-point and the water lasted for several days. And cleaning it was very easy.

We did a lot of research into different cool mist humidifiers before settling on this one, and we are very happy with the decision. We selected the Crane Drop Humidifier because we thought it would be the one to best meet our needs and it does. It is good value for the money spent (We even got it on sale!) Runs pretty quietly. Hold enough water to run for a whole day on a moderate setting. And definitely helps with the dryness we were experiencing with the winter heat. I would recommend that you should follow the cleaning directions, with weekly cleanings with vinegar to avoid built up and a potential manky smell. A video on clean up can be found on amazon. Definitely a good buy - I would recommend it for a medium to large size room. A humidifier is a must in winter, but this will be effective all year round.

I am using this this humidifier since last two weeks. This thing fits the bill. The design is great, it's super quiet, and gets the job done. I am pleased by the design (bought the transparent one). I read the owner's manual (quick and easy). The manual explained 1) how to adjust the mist as to not wet the furniture around it 2) machine will turn off when empty, but the light on the device will turn red. Obviously the part those that said the machine did not turn off failed to read 3) how the machine is easy to clean with a vinegar or chlorine solution. I recommend using white vineger. Lastly, the sound the comes from the machine is very subtle, but when u hear it, it is exactly like the soothing sounds of a filter running on a fish tank. It actually helped me sleep. I Also use this humidifier for my indoor plants, and I am sure they are blooming. My skin and nose are happy as well

this is quiet, easy to use humidifier and does a great job increasing the humidity in the room. It has a nice sleek design that is appealing to look at. I would recommend this to anyone needing a humidifier. It is easy and hassle free to clean.

Modern look. Good color. Quiet and effective (about 200 square feet). Full tank will last an entire day. Don't forget to clean out the reservoir every day. We live in the desert and the wife LOVES it.

This humidifier works great and no filter to replace. It is visually pleasing too considering its function. I would have given it 5 stars, but you have to separate it into 3 pieces -upper directional cone, water tank and base - each time you want to refill it, as water will spill from the base. Just keep a towel handy as you separate and transport each piece to the area where you will wipe down the base and refill the tank.

I made the mistake of buying a Vick's CoolMist humidifier when my kids were babies. The filter gets gross and moldy and has to be replaced often. You could also never tell if it was really working as there was no "steam" visible. The Crane has no filter, is very quiet, and I like that you can see what's being put into the air. I also like the directional vent that can put the steam where you want it. I like this one so much, I'm thinking I will purchase another for the dry winter months ahead. Also would like to get the personal humidifier for my nightstand. The Crane brand is excellent.

Bought this humidifier to use in a room for the new house. It works great, is pretty quiet when running, and the small light that serves as the "on" and "alert" light is not overly bright at night or distracting. The reservoir holds a solid gallon of water and with the simple adjustment dial can last a couple of days or less than one before the need to be refilled. Easy to use, automatic shut off when empty, easy to clean and with distilled water, no build up on the unit or on furniture, etc. make this a solid purchase.

I love that you can see the mist spraying and how easy it is to direct it with the moveable/rotating spout on the top. You don't have to move the whole humidifier to direct the mist which is a plus. You can also control how much mist is dispersed with the On/Off dial which also controls the steam from low/high. The cool mist makes it a wonderful choice for children's rooms. It's very easy to fill and move around. I get a full 24 hours of use which is excellent. I love this product.

We bought this for the bedroom of an exchange student because our area is much dryer than where he is from. He ran it at night while he slept and we were able to run it for over a week before the water ran out. It was quiet at produced a cool vapor that could be adjusted from low to high. Seemed to work well.

Nice footprint and shape. Doesn't take up much space. Can easily see water level. Analog style dial to get virtually as much/little air as necessary. Noticed that some reviews were disappointed in the length of time on one fill. Our experience is that if the air flow is enough so it travels up, but still low, you should get more than 24 hours and likely closer to 2 days as we have. Very impressive. All that said, it's not as easy to refill. Unit must be removed from its base and turned upside down to fill. If there's still some water in the base, that means drips. But don't forget to remove the direction flow funnel as it is not fixed. Once that's removed, it reveals a nice handle to help carry the unit when filled again. We use twice filtered water - once at the house, plus the under sink filter. This still produces white scaling in the unit base and top section where they meet. Owner's manual says to clean weekly. Right. So this is truly where the consciencious owner plays in. Toothbrush worked well, but it's a pain. And we used vinegar to clean and disinfect. But if you use and then let sit, consider you've left still water to sit and eventually mold. I'm thinking of this now as I know our unit has been off for a week with just a tiny bit of water in the bottom. Sigh...so another thorough cleaning will be in order. Works alright for our purposes to add moisture in winter electric and wood heating, but a bit more responsibility than we'd like. Wish it had an option to fill from the top, but that would ensure we'd never actually clean it. It's not a bad buy overall, you just need to understand the downside to determine if that's a right fit for your schedule/lifestyle.

The Crane humidifier is everything we expected out of the box: easy to set up, clear instructions on use and maintenance, and functions properly. It does the job, plain and simple. The sleek waterdrop design is a plus so it isn't an eyesore sitting next to your bed or on the floor. Nice product.

This is one of the best looking (in my opinion) humidifiers out there, it compliments our decor (white) and I know other colors are available as well. The light feature is nice - not too bright so that it keeps anyone up at night, but enough that you see it at night and don't accidentally knock it over. The green light turns red when it is time to refill. Refilling involves lifting the tank, and it usually drips water on the way to the sink, and then the screw cap is sometimes hard to align and affix properly. There is the standard ultrasonic humidifier problem of mineral deposits collecting in the base, which means it needs a cleaning about every week. I would give this 3 stars (average) but since I like the way it looks, it gets 4 stars (good).

I returned 3 humidifiers prior to purchasing (and sticking with) this one! I love that it's cool mist (no risk of burns to my toddler or myself), has a rotating nozzle (I can direct it so the mist goes away from my electronics or papers and toward the person needing the mist), is SO EASY to clean, and is compact in size. I cannot possibly capitalize enough on how easy it is to clean. That was why my family and I returned other humidifiers - we couldn't get them clean and therefore they were not only NOT able to be used to do their job but we ended up feeling concerned that mold and mildew would build up and ADD to our problems. This is NOT the case with this little (little in size; not power) humidifier; we LOVE it. We use it every night in our toddler's room and purchased an additional one for our room! It's so easy to clean that we never procrastinate cleaning it and/or refilling it - which is another pattern we'd fallen into with past humidifiers! Seriously; we feel this is the best choice for humidifiers in this size range!

Does not make hardly any noise, but does need to be turned up to higher level to really add to the room. Angled tip is a blessing for those wanting to send moisture in a certain direction.
