Back in the fifties we loved creature features. Giant Spiders! Giant Bees! Giant piles of goo! They were awesome. We never gave up our love of those creature features, but technology really helped catch up to make us even more scared (although...to be honest...that giant tarantula in the 1950s Tarantula movie was plenty scary without CGI...lol..). Movies are so many things to so many people, and often the same person can want different things from movies on different days. That's ok, after all diversifying one's portfolio leads to greater riches and - metaphorically - changing up movie genres as a viewer just helps us discover the magic of the movies all that much more. So...creature features. Kinda trashy, disposable entertainment and - like its cousin the Disaster flick - we go into it looking for the creatures to eat (or at least chew and spit out) as many humans as possible. If they do that, and they scare us a bit along the way, than mission accomplished! Crawl does that. It's a short flick that doesn't waste time getting to the point that it knows its viewers want to see. Mean, giant alligators chomping on humans left, right and center. Take that humans! You're gator chow! It remembers its roots as a horror film and is a bit more intense and scary than some of your other creature features over the years (Anaconda...I'm looking at you...still love ya though). Crawl is for alligators kinda like Jaws was for sharks - it is a legitimate threat. After Jaws we got such awesome shark flicks as...sharknado, 47 meters down, the Meg, etc. Of course Jaws pretty much started the bad shark movie trend with Jaws 3-D and the roaring shark masterpiece that is Jaws the Revenge. Alligators got such fine works of cinematic art like...Lake Placid. This movie is NOT Lake Placid and it is NOT Jaws. But it's closer to the latter (good thing) than the former. It isn't a masterpiece of pacing and character building like Jaws, but it is a great creature feature with some decent, legit scares (even at home) and not appropriate for younger kids (yah kids, shoo...go watch Dora the Explorer by Michael Bay...heh heh heh). If you like mean creatures chomping deserving humans...highly recommended. If you don't...well...still highly recommended! LOL

Having said that, it is a very claustrophobic movie. Alot takes place in a cellar that seems to go on forever. Once again we have our heroine Kaya going out of her way to get herself into trouble. As most do in these movies she heads into the hurricane. Dad is missing. Anyway, this is more of a 2 person and 1 dog movie. I am not counting the gators. Aside from that it is an okay movie and has some predictable moments. Barry Pepper and Maya do a fine job. This is an okay to watch movie so just enjoy.

I have to agree with Quentin Tarantino, this movie was my #1 creature-feature of the year. I love monster movies (Tremors, Lake Placid, Predator, The Thing, etc.), but recent ones have really dumb characters who can't think on their feet or have pretty terrible lines. The characters in this film were made to be pretty smart in terms of decisions made and dialogue, and the situations they were put in left me on the edge of my seat all the way till the end. Definitely do not regret this purchase.

Like Australia, Florida is a place full of creatures that want to eat or kill you. Crawl definitely demonstrated that alligators are not fun to be around, especially in a hurricane. Why any one would live in a house next to a lake full of alligators is beyond me. There's isn't much plot to the story. Gators plus hurricane plus two people trapped under an old house--which is (not so) slowly filling up with water. Yikes! There are gator-rific jump scares aplenty.

starts off a bit slow and makes its way down your skin at how creepy it turns to be. Its about a storm that strikes florida hard and well water rising means the alligators are roaming about. A girl and her father are trying to get out alive from this mess. It does have some exaggerated moments and well they don't take from the movie and make it unwatchable. very very good in my opinion, the movie is gory as well so this is a no for the kiddos.

The video and audio quality on the Crawl Blu-ray is excellent. Really loved the audio, which sounds powerful with plenty of bass for the action sequences. The video quality looked wonderful on my Sony TV. I'm surprised Paramount decided not to release this on 4K Blu-ray, it would've looked and sounded even more amazing I think. This was an entertaining little thriller horror movie and I enjoyed it. Definitely recommend it.

The concept behind this movie of an alligator horror sounded silly, but it works much better than I could ever expect. The film gives you just enough background on the lead characters to make you care for them and then once the action starts, it doesn't let up until the end. It's not that gory and the visual effects are top notch. I would definitely recommend this film to fans of action and lite-horror movies.

I saw this in theaters when it came out and was not disappointed and decided to get the blueray on black friday. I'm a big fan of killer animal movies having grown up watching Alligator and Alligator II: The Mutation evey summer on SciFi and this is one of the better ones I have ever seen. It's not campy or cheesy in the slightest, it's designed to be tense and it is pretty much throughout the movie.

Sharknado with gators just done way better. Not like you could make it worse. This is how I imagine Florida will be in the very near future just throw in a couple giant pythons and you would have a realistic modern Jurassic park without dna mapping. You just need to pick which one is the T. rex hero at the end of the movie. Get out of Florida now before you get trapped down their people...

Crawl is excellent popcorn entertainment. It's a lean, fast-moving thriller with just enough of a human element to get you invested in the central characters (not so much for the other folks unlucky enough to wander on screen). More than anything, this is about ratcheting up tension, breathless encounters with the gators, and a wicked sense of humor. A B movie in the best sense.

I saw the trailer to this before it came out in theaters and it intrigued me. I went into this flick with little to no expectations and once it was over I was a fan. It just has this feel that you can imagine yourself in the protagonists shoes. It’s shot very well and the acting is really good with the two leads. So this was a must buy for me once it was available at Beat Buy. 9/10!

This movie gives multiple scares and moments that leave you at the edge of your seat. Things get real when water rises and the only thing between you and life are a Hurricane and a few jaw snapping Gators! CGI could have been much better but deff worth the watch and buy. Btw no 4K version was released! Only Blu-Ray and DVD/Digital.

You watch the news after a hurricane and see animals in the high water swimming by houses and business. Well this takes you inside a house with these alligators and it’s man vs the elements. Hurricane/ high water/ alligators vs YOU. Not everyone nor everywhere can experience this except Florida and the entire Southern coast!

This was a real fun watch. Especially in HD with surround sound, you really feel the ferocity of the hurricane. The two main characters are well acted so that you feel their terror and will to survive. The creature effects are terrific. If like me you dig horror films and a good creature feature, definitely buy this movie on Bluray.

This movie was very entertaining. This movie does for alligators what Jaws did for sharks. It makes you scared of the water. Great action with great acting. My only issue was some of the issues the 2 protagonist decided to hash out while trying to survive the the situation they're in. Other than that this is a good movie.

I enjoyed this movie! I thought it was tense and exciting thrill ride. I also felt that the movie had likable characters in its two protagonists. As for the antagonists, there is no sugar-coating the danger of the alligators who hunt people in this movie. I highly recommend that horror and thriller fans view this film.

This was a good movie, with a good premise, good acting and entertained the gift receptient and the rest of us watching. Really good picture and sound quality on the BluRay disc (Shame there's no 4k UHD disc, but the digital code redeems in 4k on iTunes!) with decent extras to make the BluRay even more of good value!

Great little suspense thriller. Keeps you on the edge of your seat from the beginning. Some nice scares along the way and quite a bit of humans getting eaten from some very hungry crocodiles , or alligators. A fun movie to just sit back and enjoy. In the tradition of Jaws I recommend it highly.

Really enjoyed this movie! Acting was good, fast paced, and even startled a few times (which is rare for me). Recommend if you like movies like Jaws, 47 Meters Down, Lake Placid, The Meg, any creature/underwater scene. Plot is nothing special, typical scenario but keeps you on the edge of your seat.

This is a fun film! better then the typical killer crocs film!! It has suspense, action and great effects! A great addition if you're a horror nerd! Was also nice to see it not rated pg-13! Too often, i feel horror movies miss there mark to make more box dollars for a larger viewing audience!
