Surprised!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I selected these speakers and several others both 2.0 and 2.1 styles in the $100 to $300-price range (including the 8ose) after researching online and then went to the store to hear them. I was completely disappointed in the sound quality of everything that I listened to. All of the 2.1 systems had weak highs and boomy bass. You can turn down the bass but this doesn’t compensate for the weak highs and muddy mids. I assume that they would be fine if you only listen to rap, however I listen to rock/alternative and electronic. The T20 speakers weren’t even available to listen to but I bought them simply based on the fact that they actually have a tweeter and everything else sounded so bad, so I wasn’t expecting too much. As soon as I got home I plugged in my mp3 player and was totally impressed with their sound quality considering their price and size. They exhibit crisp highs with balanced mids and lows. They will not shake your floor like a sub. The solid feel of the front mounted controls was a nice surprise too. If you appreciate a good bookshelf speaker then the T20s should be on your shopping list for computer speakers. I am very happy with them and if they had the T40s in the store I would probably go right back and upgrade because I’m sure that they are simply more of a good thing.

Great speakers for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought the Bose Companion 2 speakers and just was not happy with them. I listen to Pearl Jam - Soundgarden etc and also do some gaming. The Bose were muffled to me. Wife liked them just fine but I could not get the sounds I wanted so I ordered the Creatives after reading several great reviews on a few sites, so glad I did. They simply are better speakers. I had both sets on the desk and played a TV show, music and a little gaming. I plugged in the Bose and then the Creative. 4 of us in the room chose the Creative as the better speakers in every category. I had my mind made up after listening to a few live songs in .flac format. Simply cannot be beat for under 100 dollar speakers. Very crisp and the treble/bass knobs on the right speaker are a nice touch. Surprised how well these little 28w speakers sound. They will not knock the walls down but a little past the half way mark they are LOUD and clear. So much better than the Bose and I never thought I would say that..

WOW! Very good speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These speakers are awesome! I use them with a Sony laptop primarily to listen to my I-Tunes library while working. I'm pretty picky about sound quality and wanted speakers that replicated vocals and instruments, as the artist intended. After much deliberaton, I made the right choice for me. I tried the Bose at first, but was not happy. To me, the sound seemed "manufactured" and fake. I wanted speakers that produced a warmer tone and precise instrument sound quality. I should mention that my taste include artists such as The Eagles, The Bee Gees, Rod Stewart and Bryan Adams, just to name a few. Each of these artists sounded unbelieveable good through these speakers. Also, the base is very balanced for my preference. However, if you prefer a heavy thump, you should defintely consider somethng else..perhaps the Klipsche THX 2.1. For me, I love the simplicity of not dealing with a seperate sub! The bright blue light problem is greatly deminished with the II series. It is no longer annoying at all. Also, I can crank the speakers all the way up with no crackling. These are not the loudest speakers, but are still way more than sufficient to fill my office.

Spectacular Speakers!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For a couple of years, I burned countless CDs, so I could play them through my Onkyo stereo system--because of the dynamics of the Onkyo speakers. Then I bought a second computer, just for music; and, since it was a cheapy Compaq, I splurged on a set of Creative Labs T10 speakers (cost about $50), to service both computers. I was amazed at the quality of sound; so much so, that I bought about 40 feet of speaker wiring, so I could play music in the living room--which, of course, left me without speakers in my little computer room. So I bought the remarkable Creative Labs T20's, moved the T10's back, and disconnected the Onkyo stereo system. I've done sound comparison tests (CDs vs. direct-from-computer) and, even using the cheapy Compaq computer--because, I believe, of the quality of the T20s--there, simply, is no comparison. And, since the speakers allow you to adjust the treble and bass components (a wonderful feature!!), you are able to focus on the elements of sound you prefer. In short, if you're looking for computer speakers--for whatever purpose--look no further than Creative Labs!

The best non-subwoofer speakers I found
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't like subwoofers. There, I said it. They're great for home theater systems and full-sized stereos, but for my desktop computer in my office, subwoofers vibrate the floors too much and disturb people in other rooms without giving me a significantly better aural experience, particularly since I'm just listening to stuff through my computer or iPod at relatively low volume. Most table top speakers are junk. So when I finally decided that I'd had enough of the throw-away speakers that came with my HP computer, I took my iPod (and the 1/8" plug-to-plug cord that I use to connect my iPod to my car stereo) with me shopping. (BTW, that was a really good idea...do the same if you can.) Almost all computer speakers have an "AUX" input jack, so I was able to go from one set of speakers to another comparing them using the same song from my iPod. The Creative Labs Gigaworks T20 series II speakers were FAR AND AWAY better than any other comparable speakers on the shelves at Best Buy. It's that simple. They had both clearer highs and better bass than the others, including some with subwoofers, to the point that there wasn't even a real comparison. These speakers weren't cheap, and because I was used to speakers being free with the purchase of a new computer, I hesitated to spend more than, say, $20 on them. But after comparing the new speakers available at the store...and *especially* after comparing the T20's to the speakers they're replacing at home, I have come to accept that a reasonable amount of money spent on quality speakers can make an enormous difference with regard to how much I enjoy listening to music and watching videos on my computer. I consider their $100 cost to be money well spent.

Great Speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally got these speakers as a christmas present for one of my friends. I soon realised that these speakers were a little bit too big for a laptop bag so I kept them for myself and bought her another set of portable laptop speakers. Anyways these speakers even though a little pricey are well worth it. I have only had these speakers hooked up for just a day but already I am loving them. Like I said the only drawbacks are the fact that the chord for me wasn't quite long enough for my intended layout of my desk. If you have a regular desk and not an L shaped desk then the chord is long enough. Also these speakers don't have a subwoofer, but they do have a small sub built in, this sub is alright, but it is not as great as if there was a dedicated subwoofer. Overall I would highly recommend this product for someone that doesn't need a sub but would like to have great sound and don't care about price.

Sound awesome!Look great too!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well,i am a very happy camper with these speakers.I first bought the Bose Companion 2s,but had some complaints with them. There is a "white noise"when the source isnt playing, and they do not have a tweeter for highs like the T20s do.The T20s have much more detail than the Bose do and do not have the noise that the Bose do.I am very happy with the T20s and would buy again. The only draw back is you have to order online. They did only take 3 days to get to my house tho.Sound awesome and look great too.Think Creative fixed all the problems you might read in earlier reviews. The volume can be turned up all the way and sounds great, the power on/off is on the volume knob. They are a little taller than the Bose, but definitely better and worth every penny.

Excellent computer speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These speakers are a fantastic replacement for the speakers that came with my computer. I tried another brand's speakers and subwoofer, but all i got was BASS BASS BASS, even after i moved the subwoofer and adjusted my audio controls. I am totally pleased with the Gigaworks T20 speakers! The highs, midrange and lows all sound great. I can crank up the volume until the dog goes into hiding.

Sounds good
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a sound expert and never owned a stereo but these speakers work great with my puter. Glad that I upgraded my sound. Also installed a sound card. One small problem: The control knobs are very smooth so I had to put a small elastic band around the on-off-volume control.

Excellent Speakers
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy setup, I recommend keeping the treb and bass settings on the speaker in the mid range. Use itunes equliazer to adjust sound quality to your liking. Sounds great at all volume levels. Very happy with this purchase. Considering the T40's to replace my TV's 5.1 system.

Good looks, mediocre sound quality.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Im 15 years old, and I got these for my PS3 so i could listen to some decent speakers, rather than the cheap ones on my Vizio TV. If I were to write this review in so many words i would say: "Good for games, Bad for music" and that pretty much sums it up. The mids and highs are all there, but the lows are kind of washed out and sound not all there. Bass is ok on these, if you turn it all the way up youll end up getting vibrations and what not and most likely blow out the speakers. These are good for the gamer who are looking to step up from mediocre TV speakers, but dont be blasting your dubstep, and rock and roll on these!! They cant take abuse! As far as aesthetics go, these look great with the shiny black, and tiny tiny blue paint flakes. The yellow cone looks nice as well. The base of these however tip over easy, even the slightest knock and these will tip completely on their side. Id recommend saving up some more pennies and dimes and get something from Klipsch or maybe some nice Logitechs, that come with a subwoofer. I will be returning these next week, and saving another 50 bucks to get the Klipsch 2.1's. THEY ARE AWESOME SOUNDING!!! BOTTOM LINE: If you need some speakers for occasional music use, and games, get these, youll be satisfied, but if you want speakers thatll last and sound great, look elsewhere from the Creative brand...

Great controls
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Better than my Bose Companion because I can control the amount of bass and treble. Overall sound quality is very good, but not great. While my Bose had better overall sound, its drawback was that I could not increase or decrease bass or treble, depending on what is playing. The Creative GigaWorks looks terrific, with or without the mesh screen covers and the price was a little less than Bose.

Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these speakers a little over a year ago, I found them to be very appealing so I decided to dish out a little cash because I thought that it may be worth it in their quality. They have the best sound of any speakers that I've had but I must say they do seem to be cheaply made. Just after the 1 year warranty expired my speakers have ceased to work. It was not worth the somewhat high price of these speakers to have such a short lifespan. From now on, I believe I'll be looking for another brand name.

Frustrating
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I loved this speakers when I first got them, and then they started to get crackly sounding, and even when you don't have anything plugged into them they make a humming sound. I wish these would have lasted longer, they aren't exactly that inexpensive.

Did not meet my expectations
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought these with awareness of reviews that pointed out the poor midrange response, and hoped for the best because I did not want to spend over $100. After living with them a week and listening to many of my favorite rock and roll albums, the midrange is especially muddy and severely detracts from my enjoyment. I am giving up on getting satisfaction at a less than $100 price point. However, perception is subjective and your mileage may vary. The highs are very crisp and the units look fabulous on my desk. But they are going back to the store.
