Decent Blu-ray release of an underrated 80s Horror

Underrated film, decent Blu-ray transfer. It's unfortunate that there aren't any behind-the-scenes featurettes or interviews, I'd love to know more about the making of this movie. It seems so mysterious! I give this Blu-ray edition 4 stars based on the quality of the film itself [one of my wife's all-time favorites] and the transfer, which is a bit soft but still the best I've ever seen this film look. Would I love for Shout / Scream Factory to get their hands on the rights to this title and give it their loving Special Edition treatment? You bet I would, but seeing as this film is so often overlooked I'll just assume it's never going to happen and content myself with this one.

I absolutely love Creepshow and it's homage to horror comics from the 40's and 50's. This movie has cool stylized segments to mimic the comic book format. This movie is by no means scary but, a fun anthology film with horror themes with it's younger firmly placed in its cheek. The sound and transfer are surprisingly good and mica the texture of film quite well. There are scratches in the print here and there but, this is the best version of Creepshow you can buy at the time of the reveiw. This disc is great based on the film and the transfer alone but, gets points taken off for not having bonus features. When are we going to finally get a Creepshow release with bonus features!?! With Steven King,George Romero and Tom Savini behind the wheel surly they could get something out of this. This film deserves better treatment but, I am happy I got a great version of one of my favorite films.

1982 horror anthology film directed by George A. Romero and written by Stephen King, The film's cast included Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson and Stephen King himself in his film acting debut. 5 short stories: "Father's Day", "The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill", "Something to Tide You Over", "The Crate" and "They're Creeping Up on You!". The film is an homage to the old EC horror comics of the 1950s , like Tales from the Crypt, If you like Tales from the crypt, you'll love creepshow . I think this was the best anthology horror film because of the tongue-in-cheek approach.

If you're looking for total cheese factor, this movie has you covered. Is it a good movie? It's not going to win any awards any time soon, but that's what makes it so fun. Its stories are quirky, often times predictable, and other times not. In addition, you get to see an early appearance by Ted Danson, a rare appearance by Stephen King, Leslie Nielsen, and some other actors you may recognize but just can't place their names. Also, the movie is a really good quality transfer on Blu-Ray in my opinion, especially considering this came out in 1982.

A collaboration between horror masters Stephen King and George Romero, this is a collection of short films that mix horror, humor and even a dose of camp. It's an entertaining cocktail with some shorts being far more memorable than others (the one about a neat freak that suffers a massive cockroach infestation will make your skin crawl) but as a package it's sufficiently entertaining. The transfer is not the best and there is little else on the disc but for the price, horror fans should not pass this one by.

Creepshow is an excellent ode to the horror comics of the 50's. It has been a favorite of mine since it was released in 1982! The five different stories are each clever and macabre in their own way. Director George Romero, writer Stephen King and legendary effects wizard Tom Savini all bring this film to entertaining and gory life. Creepshow has had a dedicated and loyal following for decades. I totally recommend it for horror fans and anyone who likes films with a sometimes funny and sinister side. Buy it!

So this would be a 5 star release if it only included 2 of the 4 stories told in this movie. "Something to Tide You Over" featuring Leslie Nielsen and Ted Danson and "They're Creeping Up On You" featuring E.G. Marshall are two stellar pieces of entertainment and worth every penny. They've aged well and still are as entertaining as ever. The other two segment are rather cheesy and have not aged as well. Blu-Ray quality is pretty good for a low budget release from the early 80's.

This film was released back in the early 80's and back then it was phenomenal in terms of the multiple stories and such. Stephen King and George Romero created these classic tales which was a throwback to the old EC Horror comics of yesteryear, and created something that is unique, entertaining, as well as shocking. I highly recommend this movie to anyone who is a classic horror movie fan.

From the mind of Stephen King and the directorial talents of George Romero comes an anthology of short horror films that are a deft combination of scares, humor and bombast. To this day Creepshow has yet to be surpassed and is a perfect indulgence for anyone looking for a fun Halloween treat or just interested in an effective and enjoyable genre flick.

This movie is perfect for you, if you're into cheesy horror shorts. They're well made, they have an age to them, and they're, well, cheesy. Creep Show 1 and 2 are both favorites of mine, but they're hard to find. When I saw this movie on Bluray at my local bestbuy, I simply had to get it. For me, it is a must watch every year in October.

This movie has been around for awhile but is still campy horror fun. Several familiar faces appear in here including the horror master himself, Stephen King. Basically its several stories told in what starts out as something in a comic book. Been awhile since i've seen this one so probably going to have to make the time soon!

Creepshow is an anthology that owes much of its atmosphere to EC comics of yore. With the minds of Stephen King and George Romero teaming up, you know the chills will be plenty but there is a healthy dose of black comedy that lightens the proceedings and adds up to one of the best horror anthology films around.

if you grew up when this came out, or are a younger horror fan, you'll love the nostalgic nonsense. for the curious, wait til you can view on your favorite streaming service (sorry best buy and amazon). if you don't mind gambling with your $5-$10 then pick it up for hilarious 'thrill ride'.

Having watched this mainly on DVD for years now, it's great to have a blu ray with the picture cleaned up for HD TVs. I can finally see everything and it's even better than before. 5 fun, horror-themed stories brought to you by Romero and King... you can't go wrong.

I had to add this classic to my collection; George Romero got it right with this series; keep it light but revolting at the same time. Definitely a movie from a simpler time with the right dose of twisted, creepy humor. Have fun watching it!

Bought this to show my teenage kids. They are into horror movies which today are pretty gruesome. They thought is was fun to watch with interesting twists. I would say this is suspenseful and not a true horror movie. More Alfred Hitchcock

I remember seeing this for the first when I was still a child. I liked it then and I still like it now. The segment "They're Creeping Up on You" still gives me goose bumps. Great Halloween movie or, really, any time you want to check out a horror flick.

Creepshow is a solid compilation of a handful of Stephen King short stories loosely tied together, and overall it works pretty well. The transfer to Blu-Ray looks fine, it's just too bad there really aren't any bonus features to speak of.

I'm a huge fan of these types of stories as told by some of the greatest Horror movie authors. Including some well known actors from that generation, even my nieces enjoyed the stories before Halloween this year.
