Nice Crock-Pot!

This is a nice large-capacity crock-pot that is programmable and has a locking lid. It will work well for me for many years to come. Following are the pros and cons I have found with this crock-pot.
Pros:
- It is easy to assemble, with just three parts.
- It has a large-capacity, 7 quart, nonstick ceramic stoneware crock, so I can cook large quantities of food for my whole family.
- It has nice, large easy-to-grab handles to carry it with.
- I love the locking, spill-proof lid! I have never had this feature on previous crock-pots and have had multiple occasions where i have had spills in my car when transporting a full crock-pot to a potluck or family celebration. The locking lid on this crock-pot will eliminate any spills. This was a great addition!
- It is a nice looking unit and I like the dark stainless-steel base.
- It has an easy-to-use touch-control panel with high and low settings which allow you to set the temp by 30 minute increments. The timer counts down by the minute and once the timer gets to zero it automatically switches to a warm setting. This is also a really nice feature, allowing it to be programmed to cook the way you want to and then switching it to warm. This comes in really handy when I want to cook something all day while I am at work and won't be there to switch it to warm when it is done cooking.
- The warm feature allows it to keep food warm for up to 4 hours.
- The nonstick ceramic crock washes up very easily due to the nonstick coating.
Con:
- The only real con I could come up with is that the nonstick ceramic crock is not dishwasher safe, so it has to be washed by hand. I would prefer to just stick it in the dishwasher. However, this is a minor con and as I stated in the pros, the nonstick coating makes it wash up very easily.
Overall, this is a very nice crock-pot and I especially enjoy the new features of being programmable and having a locking spill-proof lid!

How do you improve a crockpot? It's simple enough, but they managed to do it... Its plenty large enough for large family meals, it has a timer you can set up from 30 minutes to 20 hours which is more than I'll ever need, it has a locking lid for when you're ready to head to the family party or picnic, and its actually super easy to clean... One of the dreaded parts of cooking with a crock pot in the past for me has been having to let the pot soak in the sink with some hot water and detergent in the sink overnight to help free up the sticky and burnt on stuff... I haven't had to do this with this crock pot! One thing they didn't mention is that this thing seems to be insulated very well... I unplugged it and brought it to a family cookout and didn't plug it back in, well a few hours later, the food remaining in the pot was still plenty warm enough to enjoy without needing to reheat. 5 stars!

The low setting heats very hot, they could tone it down a bit. I don’t believe things should be brought to a boil when on low but they do.

Great Crock-Pot - I Love It

The Crock-Pot Cook & Carry Programmable 7-Quart Slow Cooker with Easy Clean may just be my favorite crock pot ever. I have used crock pots in the past but only occasionally. Now I am using this 2 or three times a week. I love it that much.
Word of warning, be careful when you open the box. You don't want to be too rough. On one of the inner tabs may just be the best Mac and Cheese recipe you will ever find. I would give this crock pot 5 stars on this recipe alone. It is that good. The next time you have a pot luck and need to take something, this is it. You won't be taking any of it home. Trust me.
After getting it out of the box, the crock pot is easy to set up. You can be up and ready to cook within just a few minutes. Then you just put in the ingredients, set the high or low setting and the time, and sit back and relax. It is just that easy.
The things I really like about this crock pot over other I have used is that it is digital. Once you plug it in, the crock pot will have you press the select button to allow you to choose between high or low heat. After that, you set the time. There is a digitial display on the crock pot to allow you to select how long you want to cook the food. This is allocated into 30 minute increments. Then you can cook anywhere from 30 minutes up to 20 hours. Once your timed cooking has finished, the system will then automatically return to a keep warm mode until you turn it off.
Once your done, you can serve your food right out of the crock pot or move it to a separate dish for serving. If you wish, you can leave it in the cooking container and take it on the go. The lid to the crock pot is a locking lid so you can take you dish to family reunions, church socials, or work pot lucks. It is very convenient.
Once everything is done, clean up is a snap. The non-stick surface is really just that. I had no problems cleaning off even left behind cheese from my Mac and Cheese. A soft cleaning scrub is all I needed. Cleaning it up may even be faster than setting it up. This really has made cooking easy.
in the end, I really love the Crock-Pot Cook & Carry Programmable 7-Quart Slow Cooker with Easy Clean. It has a big enough size to feed a whole family. Cooking is in it is easy and the food comes out very tasty. I recommend this crock pot for anyone looking to get one. And if you like Mac and Cheese, it is a must.

Just what my large family needed

I love using a crockpot to cook for my large family, but one feature that the crockpots have had in common for us over the years is they are heavy and a little difficult to clean.
Well, that problem has been solved. I was shocked how light the pot felt when I took it out of the box. And I was pleasantly surprised the first time I cleaned it. WOW, was it easy to clean. As advertised.
When reviewing specifications about this particular crockpot I noticed the following sections were described on the site:
Large Capacity
7-quart capacity fits a 6 lb. roast and can serve 8+ people
AGREED. This is plenty big. We are a family of 6 and we had no issue at all making plenty of chili and italian beef in this.
Easy Clean
With just a couple of wipes, the easy-clean, PFOA- and PTFE-free ceramic coating makes cleaning 5x faster than traditional Crock-Pot stoneware
AGREED. In fact they should highlight this even more. This was by far the easiest crockpot I have ever cleaned. It helps that is is pretty lightweight compared to other crockpots.
Secure Lid
Locking gasket lid helps you get the slow cooker to the final destination without spills or messes
AGREED. This is the first one I have owned with a locking lid. How many times do you have a party, family get together, or work potlock where you need to bring food? Well finally I can transport my meal with confidence knowing the lid will stay secure during travel.
Digital Controls
Digital countdown control lets you program cook times anywhere from 30 minutes up to 20 hours
AGREED. Easy to use. Love being able to set the time. usually you get maybe 3 choice or pre-set times. not on this unit. You can really set this exactly for how long you want it to run. For those who like to set things up overnight or when you leave for working the morning, you can leave it with the peace of mind knowing it will shut off when you want it to.
Flexible Settings
HIGH and LOW settings are perfect for making chilis, stews, sauces, and more; automatically shifts to WARM setting to keep food at the perfect serving temperature
AGREED. Making chili we actually found it was ready before the time we programmed so we changed it from Low to Warm... and let it simmer until we were ready.
This has ALL the features a family could want.

This is a 7qt slow cooker from Crockpot. It has a non-stick ceramic pot and a locking lid should you need to travel with food inside. It gives you the ability to customize your cooking time, as well as a countdown timer for tracking the amount of time left to cook. It also has a warming mode.
The ceramic pot – which of course is removeable – is oven safe up to 400 degrees. So, you can do your initial cooking using the Crockpot, then transfer the pot to the oven for the final step of your recipe. The pot can also be used in a microwave should you have a large enough microwave.
The lid, which has locking clips on either side to securely lock the lid to the base unit, is dishwasher safe.
Our first cooking effort with this unit was making chicken pot pie. The recipe required about 4 hours of slow cooking in the Crockpot. When that was finished, we removed the ceramic pot from the unit, added biscuits to the mix, and placed the ceramic pot in our oven for 15-20 minutes. When done, the pot was removed from the oven and placed on a hot pad for serving.
Setting the time and monitoring its progress was extremely easy. Transporting the ceramic pot to the oven was a bit more tedious as a solid ceramic pot with 5-7 quarts of liquid, vegetables, and meat is a tad heavy. There are no handles on the pot so great care is needed to not spill or drop the pot.
Nevertheless, all went well.
Slow cookers aren’t the most versatile cooking implements, and this one by Crockpot is no different. It is also one of the less expensive models we have owned. Yet, this unit worked just as well as our most recent slow cooker that cost twice as much.
In all, this slow cooker did a fine job cooking our meal and, at 7 quarts, is sufficient to feed up to 9 people. Although less expensive than other cookers on the market, it did a good job. We think it is a keeper!
