I ended up talking to a friend who had received the same one as a Christmas present, and he also had this problem. We both ordered new needles. This seemed to be the solution for both of us. Upon taking the old needle off, I noticed it is mainly plastic, no metal. The new needle was mostly metal. The new needle is from amazon - $8 for four. I have a victrola and have had no problems.

Will be used to play old vinyl from an older relative, who passed away. Internal speakers are great, by pairing with quality Bluetooth headphones or speaker and sound is great.

Instructions say it will Bluetooth to another speaker or a soundbar but doesn’t give very in depth instructions on how to do it.
