fast, and has been reliable. price is on par with Amazon. picked it up as a replacement for a clients laptop i repaired. pro tip: be sure to check that your laptop has a screw/bracket to secure the drive in. the Dell, I repaired, has dual SSD & NVME, but, not a bracket (or screw) to secure the NVME

Maybe a Firmware Update Will Help??

The Crucial P3 Plus is a SSD designed with the intent of taking advantage of PCIe 4.0 speeds. Unfortunately, that is not what I experienced. Before I go further, I WOULD RECOMMEND this product because the I found a short term workaround for my issues until a firmware update becomes available. Additional details will be provided in the review. Below are my thoughts of the 2TB version using Firmware P9CR409 with a B550 motherboard. The P3 Plus advertises speeds "up to" 5000 MB/s (Sequential Read) and 4200 MB/s (Sequential Write). I understand that these values represent the ceiling, but I didn't even get close to achieving these numbers based on my CrystalDiskMark test. The numbers I topped out at were 3173 MB/s for read and 2752 MB/s for the write. These would be excellent speeds for the regular Crucial P3 (PCIe 3.0) which had a read/write of 3500 MB/s and 3000 MB/s respectively. So what's the workaround? Anytime you use a Crucial SSD then you should definitely install the Crucial Storage Executive. I'm not a proponent of bloatware, but this program did allow for me to check for firmware updates (none were available at the time) and verify the health status of my drives. The biggest benefit of this program was through a feature called "Momentum Cache". By enabling this feature through the software (which will require a restart), you turn this tiny drive into Sonic the Hedgehog by using some DRAM to give your SSD a boost that far surpasses my CrystalDiskMark scores. I turned on this feature and was instantly a happy camper. The only caveat to this feature is that "Using Momentum Cache without a battery backed power source is not recommended and you do so at your own risk". In other words, if you use this feature and a power outage occurs then you may corrupt your drive or have bigger issues if no reliable battery backup is available. No bueno. In conclusion, the P3 Plus is not getting close to the numbers listed within the description unless you use Momentum Cache. This could be fixed with a firmware update. I'm not too worried about a fix given that I found a slight workaround. Also, it may be worth to mention that this drive is not recommended for the PS5 despite being a PCIe 4.0 drive. Even the advertised speeds aren't fast enough according to Sony's recommendations.

I had an old m.2 ssd that was only 256gb that I purchased several years ago for around $150. However, with many games coming out now require ssd’a for quicker loading times I decided it was time to get another m.2 and make the 256gb ssd a windows only install location. Wow! This ssd not only outperforms the original one I had, but a at over 4 times the storage amount for $50 cheaper than that original ssd. Its almost a crime to not buy ssd’s when they have gotten this cheap for this much storage. Don’t hesitate, just buy!

No, I will not apologize for the above pun. This gets the job done as a drive to chuck Windows (or any other OS) on for a new computer build. Attractive price, solid performance, nothing notable to complain about in my eyes. If you're on the hunt for an SSD that won't destroy your wallet, this isn't a bad option at all.

This NVMe SSD performs as Crucial indicated. A good drive at a fair price. Better yet, was the online order for pickup from Best Buy. The store was busy but I was in and out in minutes! Best Buy had it now and had it fast! Some other big online place, with an A, was two days away. Thanks Best Buy for having it IN STOCK and at a good price and

I was running out of space in my pc and needed an upgrade on storage. My motherboard could handle Gen 3 but this was a good deal and was an easy install. So far it has been a great addition to my pc. Once I moved my files over, it is fast and just what I needed.

Havnt quite got the speed and Performance id hoped as my new gaming tower's c:\. In all honesty it pushes crsates littld to no noticeable change than my 2 gen prior Sony evo ssd. Wasnt even an MVME. Still a workhorse in ny gaming pc. Ive probably git sone configs wrong and definitely need a more powerful GPU. anot not to mention that even though it may be latest gen, doesnt mean software will run at that PCIe gen speed. Wish i woukd have got an old gen Evo wirh slightylly staorage and a comparable read/write. First gaming huild in 15 years and already went rrom budget build utilizing old tower tower, mobo, 2 radeion 5500 GPUs to SLI(i kbiw its pointless now, but i missed the boat when it was big and know i can find a practical use for that piwer), old 750w power supply, and 4 amd Chips with pins needing to be bent back to buying brand new tower, new 1100w PSU, am5 chipset Mobo(means i had to get a new AMD gen 5 chip and of course went with a ryzen 9 7900x) 4 16gb sticks of vengence RGB RAM cause you know....reasons(so far fan only fet 2 channels to work Yay! Anyone need ddr4 or ddr5 RAM? GOT a lot). And spent hundresds on fitting my room and desk out with so much RGB you'd think you were at a casino. i dont even game that much. Bright side still got a whole last gen pc i can build for machine learning so im not replaced in 5 years. For me it was tge learning experience. 4 months ive picked up soldering SMB, RFID hacking(Flip set flip set flip set), machine learning with dual edge TPU modules and one SBC sporting a rockchip at 11 tops. I hope to work with Ai or hack the API. Got a little off track. I can build anything about now. All self taught. Didnt even know about power a couple months back. 40 years old. Total change of career. Bo school, no degree, just drive, youtube, google dorking, and SOME Ai models

Picked this up for a huge discount while on sale. Probably the best investment I've made, hard drive wise. After using this for about a month, I couldn't possibly imagine using anything else. If you can find this one for under retail, get it before I do!!
