I'm a digital packrat, so knew the installed 1 TB SDD wouldn't last for very long. Found this 2 TB SDD for a decent price. This addition should provide me with plenty of storage for the foreseeable future. It arrived promptly, fit as expected and seems to be performing well.

Crucial gives free acronis cloning software to transferring windows OS was really easy. Runs hot. Was getting 50C with one sided Heatsink. Went for 2-sided Heatsink and temps dropped to 38C Other SSD's with one sided Heatsink are running at around 32C. Sequential write/read speeds are very good. But random access speeds, especially write speed is average. From outside reviews: Sustained write performance dips when file sizes are big. 50gb: 1gBps >50gbps: 700 MBPS Hope this helps.

The way this is designed too with all the chips on one side mean its more efficient and easier to cool as well. I recommend these as well as the 980 Pro, and WD SN850X for anyone wanting a Gen 4 drive from good companies.

I have 13TB of USB Hard Drives with games and info also but this SSD just made life a lot more easier and manageable to play all of my PS5 games without having to tranfer back and forth. Well worth the price, after i could justify it after i used it.

All I can say is that this drive is super fast. Blazes through apps and creation. Will definitely recommend Crucial

The 250gb drive is a boot and the 2tb drive is the faster game drive. Sure, critics say you can't quite tell the difference in loading times, but i like to think that you can.

Owned for 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.without a heat sink, and the cost of adding one, and its performance levels at that price (including the need to purchase the heatsink), I found it was cheaper to get the 980 pro that has BETTER speeds, AND a heatsink for the SAME price (when the 980 pro was on sale), so I returned this one. Remember, this is a 'frugal' option for the ps5, and as such its write/read speeds are lower than the 980 pro, so if the price is the same, why wouldn't you go with the better performing one?
