This is a simply amazing SSD - I was upgrading from a smaller (1TB) PIC-e Gen 4 SSD (that one was rated for 5000 MB/s) and figured I was upgrading for the extra space and that I wouldn't necessarily notice the extra speed. Boy was I wrong - it's somehow like a night and day difference in my laptop. Things that before took a second or two are now literally instant. Oh, and I have the extra space too which is always welcome.
The installation was easy - the hardest part was getting the bottom shell off my laptop (that will vary for you depending on your laptop model - note that some may be very hard or impossible to remove) to get to the 2280 M.2 drive I was replacing. From there it was a simple matter of switching the drives and copying the files / operating system install.
I ran a few tests and the numbers back up the "feel" test - I'm seeing just a bit over 7000 MB/s read and just under that in write. That's outstanding and you can really feel the difference. It does run a bit hot in the laptop (I had to go without the heat spreader since that won't fit for a laptop install) but only a touch hotter than the prior SSD and not that worrying. I'm going to get another one of these to upgrade my older desktop SSD as well now that I've seen what they can do! So if you could use more speed and good space for a good price, give this drive a try today!

The T500 is a next great SSD at the peak of it's game. You can put this in your gaming computer or it's also compatible as a PS5 drive. My review will look at the PC side.
Installation was a breeze as with any m2 style SSD plug into the slot and screw it down. I decided to clone my old SSD to this and it worked perfect and I was up and running in no time. Cold boot times to windows login are mere seconds.
Transfer speeds are lightning fast I ran some benchmarks and had read speeds at the advertised 7000mb/s. Whether you plan on making this a main drive or a secondary gaming drive you will not be disappointed.
Just a reminder if you are new to the world of data storage this is marketed as 2tb, Windows will find about 1.81 TB of usable space one you format it properly, this is intended.
Love the fact that Crucial is backing this with an extended warranty of 5 years, you know that they stand behind the product. There's is literally no downside for the performance of this NVME drive at the price point, this is it chief.

This SSD by Crucial really puts the capabilities of Gen 4 to the test. I was able to reach the max write speed of 7000 megabytes and the max read speed of 7400 megabytes pretty consistently even without a heatsink. This outperformed all of my previous SSDs and has been amazing for gaming. I'm not much of a content creator but I can imagine this would do just as well for video editing.
What comes in the box is just the SSD so make sure you have the right screw to install it on your motherboard. It is one-sided so it was a perfect fit for my laptop and gave zero issues upon installation. It comes with a 5 year limited warranty so I'm not too worried about longevity. Crucial has always been my go-to brand, and this product proves why I keep coming back.
Overall I'm really impressed with this product. It does as advertised and has given zero issues. I may get another 2TB SSD. Or I might wait until they release the 4TB option to fill up the second SSD slot on my laptop. 10/10 reccomend!

The Crucial T500 PRO Internal SSD made by Micron, is a complete beast when it comes to gaming performance and load times. The same holds true with photo and video editing and other Content creation performance. It definitely proves itself and is a great bang for your buck to provide 2TB of storage at over 7GB/s read/write speeds. The PCIe 4.0 technology crushes the last gen PCIe 3.0 speeds and even works in multiple applications with out a hardware upgrade because the PCIe 4.0 is backwards compatible on PCIe 3.0 hardware.
Who would think that such storage performance would one day come from a device so small. It is truly remarkable. The build quality of the SSD is superb and although this model does not come with a built in heat sink, its performance in gaming load times is much faster. Between several games that have notoriously long load times like Forza Horizon 5, and even older games like GTA 5, I was able to load GTA5 ten seconds faster and Forza Horizon 5 six seconds faster.
This card is usable in multiple platforms and the heatsink version is even usable in upgrading your PS5 storage. This version is great in laptops, desktops, and workstations. I also find it re-assuring that Micron is even offering a 5 year warranty on this SSD to bolster its confidence in performance and longevity.
It is recommended by windows 11 to disable core isolation and virtual machine platform when running this hardware for improved gaming storage performance.
Overall I have been very impressed by the storage capacity and speed of this SSD. It is a great benefit to my gaming set up and is well worth the price point. I highly recommend.

The Crucial - T500 2TB Internal SSD is a great option if you’re looking to expand you storage capabilities and want fast performance.
I have been using the Crucial 2TB internal SSD to store games on my gaming PC. It has worked very well and load times for games like Starfield, Baldurs Gate 3, Hogwarts Legacy etc. have been fast.
The problem with games as they get better and bigger worlds to explore is that they get larger in the process. With games over 100GB these days you definitely want that extra storage. So far 2TB has been enough for me. I have Windows OS on its own 1TB drive so I only have games on the Crucial SSD.
When I know I’m done with a game I delete it from the drive so space hasn’t been an issue. If you’re someone who likes to have many games loaded to a drive and always ready to go, you might want to opt for a larger size or run multiple drives.
Crucial is a great brand if you’re in the market for a new SSD. I have had no issues with their products over the years and definitely recommend this SSD. The hardest part will probably be deciding which size you actually need and I’d recommend at least 2TB.

The Crucial T500 is an outstanding SSD. Whether SSDs or RAM, Crucial has been one of my go-to brands in system building and upgrading for many years, with their products always providing high quality and reliability. The T500 sits in that tradition.
The T500 is a Gen4 x4 NVMe drive in a 2TB capacity (others available). It's form factor is an M.2 2280 and it's a single-sided SSD with no heatsink, although it is available with one. The packaging is pretty simple and largely consists of the SSD itself. No mounting screw is given, so make sure you have a spare M.2 one available. You can download Acronis True Image from the product support page as well online.
I tested this SSD on my personally built gaming PC with a Core i9-12900KF, 32GB of DDR4-3600 RAM, and an RTX 3080, all on an MSI Pro Z690-A DDR4 motherboard with fully-updated Windows 11 and core isolation disabled. The T500 is based on 232-layer 3D TLC NAND and is rated up to 7,400MB/s reads and 7000MB/s write speeds. These are lofty ratings that would make this drive exceptional for demanding gamers and content creators alike. The drive also supports Microsoft DirectStorage to enhance gaming performance.
My testing fell just short of those rated "up to" numbers, but they were very close, and markedly faster than any other NVMe drive I own. My fastest reads were 7211MB/s and my fastest writes were just a shade under 7000MB/s, at 6970MB/s, so I'd call the speed ratings accurate to real world experience. Testing was done with the latest version of CrystalDiskMark.
As I said, I've always held Crucial in very high regard and this product meets that expectation. Its performance is blisteringly fast and at that level, very few could be disappointed in it. Whether you're a gamer or a content creator who needs top performing storage, this drive should be on the top of your list for consideration. Highly recommend.

I have an ASUS ROG G14 laptop that I installed this in. The stock SSD was only 512 GB, so I was happy to upgrade to this 2 TB SSD. Installing this drive was very easy but that probably depends on the laptop you are installing it on. I had no problems getting it to work. It should be easy to install on most laptops.
This drive is really fast. My old drive was rated for 5000 MB/s while this drive is rated for 7400 MB/S. The boot time on my old drive was around 13 seconds. The boot time on this drive is around 5 seconds so it is significantly faster. In addition to the faster boot time, games also loaded much faster. The endurance is rated at 1200 TB as opposed to my stock drive that was rated at 500 TB, so I expect this to last a lot longer.
Like all other SSDs, it is advertised for 2 TB, but you only really get about 1.8 TB. This is totally normal but worth mentioning.
For anyone looking for a very fast drive that has plenty of space for all your data and games, look no further. This is a great drive I can highly recommend.

The Crucial T500 2TB Internal SSD is a very simple upgrade to give you more space to save your most important items directly on your device with no need to have an external drive because your memory is not enough. The set up could be more for someone with an intermediate experience, as it may require you to image your computer in order to transfer the information over to the new drive. Some devices do give you the option to install as a second drive without having the need to image your device. Overall, I love the additional space I now have with the Crucial T500 Internal SSD. The 2 TB option is more than enough space for many users of course, if you are the type that carries so much information around you may need an external drive but for your everyday use and most users this is the perfect fit. Crucial does an Ext ordinary job with their devices and i completely trust them. This drive is very solid and you can tell quality when you feel it and see it. I would totally recomend this drive for someone who is looking to add more space to their current set up.

It was delivered quickly by Best Buy. I have two crucial T500 2TB in raid 0 on my Razer blade 18 2024 model and they work flawlessly. Very fast this way for loading games and transferring big files.
