This SSD drive is ridiculously fast. I added to a gaming desktop that already had a 512GB SSD in it is even faster than the included hard drive. It was really easy to install in my gaming computer as well. The heatsink also gives me piece of mind from long gaming sessions that the hard drive is not going to overheat. I've also been able to use this drive to increase the RAM on my computer to speed up gaming performance, and it performs really well in the function too. Overall, this has been a great additional to my gaming computer, giving me more space to store more files & games, but to also increase the computer's memory to further improve gaming performance. It is more then enough space to do both those things and leave plenty of room to install larger games on the computer. I haven't used it as a boot device as of yet but I am confident it would speed up my boot times given it's a Gen 5 drive and Crucial always makes a great product. I would highly recommend this SSD drive for any gamer or for anyone looking to increase the hard drive space on their machine with a premium drive.

Crucial - T700 2TB Internal SSD PCIe Gen 5x4 NVMe with Heatsink This is a very good SSD. It's quite expensive and only fits a newer or decently upgraded PC so double check your compatibility, but if you have the budget it's a great choice. It's easy to install, you just open your PC, replace or add this into your motherboard, connect it with cables, and then go into settings to choose the options for how you want to use it. It definitely increases PC performance, increasing both read and write speed of up to 12,400/11,800MB/s and random read/writes of up to 1,500K IOPS and it has a crazy amount of storage at 2TB. It makes your PC run a lot faster if you haven't upgraded your SSD in a while. It makes your gaming, video editing, and heavy workload applications run faster. It also lets you have a lot of games or other things downloaded at the same time because of all the storage. It also has heat dissipation without noisy fans with an aluminum and nickel plated heatsink. Overall I would definitely recommend this as long as it fits in your budget.

    Blazing fast storage

I have this tendency to go all out with storage speed. From the first time I built a PC I have always had at least one RAID 0 array to load my OS and games on. On my last build I had installed 2x nVME PCIE gen 4 drives in raid 0 that netted me about 10 GBps. To say that this single drive is fast is really an understatement. In my current build with a Ryzen 7950X3D on a fully PCIE gen 5 capable board I'm pulling well over 12 GBps with this single drive. For one drive to function at a higher speed than two drives were needed to achieve before really shows the generational gains that are capable. Admittedly in real world results there's going to be little noticed in terms of difference in speed, but if it are using speed intensive and sensitive applications, you could very well benefit. In my current gaming system I've been playing Diablo IV quite a lot and it has a fair number of loading screens between traveling waypoints and entering dungeons. Over my previous build I can definitely feel how quick I'm loading each time. If you are in the market for some of the fastest storage available, this should be on your list. I greatly recommend it.

Just bought the latest MSI motherboard and a 4090 graphics card and the latest gen Intell chip for a new desktop gaming pc. Long story short, the m.2 ssd was the last .. crucial… piece I needed! Got it all assembled and running. This SSD is wickedly fast with games and start up. With my older PCs, load screens were typically 10 to 18 seconds. This loads games typically under 8 seconds. With regular Windows apps and such, the speeds aren’t noticeably faster. Still, it’s a godsend if you regularly process large files such as video files or RAW photos. It was noticeable when compiling 4k video shot on my Canon R50 and edited in Adobe Premiere. You can easily find benchmark times on YouTube for all you tech geeks, but for the average working Joe out there, just know that it’s a good improvement for hardcore uses, but not a huge improvement for small daily tasks. There is a bit of a bottleneck on random accessed memory tasks, but otherwise it’s been awesome having a computer with the most cutting edge tech currently available. The next few years will be exciting!

    Wow, Blazingly Fast!

Short answer: Blazingly fast storage, even compared to other SSDs, if a bit pricey. The Crucial T700 NVME SSD replaced a much smaller original SSD in a (Windows 11) deskside I use for games and more recently for editing video from a GoPro. I decided to try the gen5 NVME SSD with its promise of higher speed and wasn't disappointed. The difference was noticeable from the start with consistently faster boot times and application load times. I didn't notice much difference in game play itself, but the three games that currently occupy my time all started up faster. I suspect that the games had sufficient buffering to mask any differences in SSD speed. Where the Crucial T700 really shines is in video editing. I expected some difference just give the capacity difference of the two SSDs (2GB T700 vs original 500MB), but this was way beyond just extra space. The T700 sped up loading of my editor and during editing there was no noticeable skipping or other lag effects. Saving the final cut was also faster. All-in-all, video editing was the big win. Installing the T700 consisted of duplicating the original boot drive and physically swapping it in. Crucial(well, Micron) makes Acronis True Image available for disk cloning and backup later on. This is a very easy package to use and provides the additional benefit of a follow on, easy to use backup solution. The only holdup for me was having a single M.2 slot in the computer, so I had to buy a usb-c to M.2 adapter cable, not a big deal. Cloned the original SSD, swapped it out for the new T700, and done. The downsides to the T700 are that it is a bit pricey, and it comes with rather massive (1/2" tall) heat sink that may not fit in all systems. Otherwise it's a great way to add storage and add a little more speed to a system, especially for disk intensive operations. Everything disk is faster and you have a lot more room. What's not to like? Highly recommended!
