Easy to format for iMac use. After formatting the disc I used a pair of Velcro-type dots to stick the drive to the bottom of my wife's iMac Air stand, opened Time Machine, clicked "Use This Drive" and backups started immediately. Peace of mind at a reasonable price!

All my pictures, some important papers. It is not quite full yet, think that may take awhile. Buy it gives me a peace of mind. It is a whole terabyte. So fare so good. Have gotten a lot down loaded on to it with much more to go.

Transfer speeds are very fast on my M1 MacBook Air. The included USB adapter means compatibility with a wide range of devices, although transfer speeds will vary according to the limitations of the device. The solid state design should mean years of trouble-free operation. I liked it so much that I bought a second one to give to my mother.
