Write speed drops to 30 MB/s

It started out at expected transfer speeds, then slowed way down after ~200GB of data was written to the drive. I spent around 30 minutes trying to find an issue thinking it was my PC's fault or something. I found it was showing the drive was doing 30 Mb/s with 99% disk utilization, meaning this is the SSD's fault. After seeing this, I did further research and found many other posts online about this SSD doing this and slowing down with large files. This is unacceptable and I returned it. Thanks BestBuy for making the return easy and understanding my issue.

800MBPS?? How about 8MBPS.

After the first few minutes this device worked as advertised with high transfer speeds and quick performance, however, after about 50GB worth of file transfers this drive slowed down to the point where I figured a regular HDD would be better.... and it was. My NAS which has a 4TB HDD would easily pump out about 200MBPS consistently during a 500GB transfer (photos, backups, etc.) My NAS wiped the floor with this thing and I'm using a 2021 MacBook Pro which uses Thunderbolt 4 (40GBPS). I will be choosing a SanDisk alternative and I have lost trust in the Crucial brand.

The new one works ok, but next time will buy another brand, do not recommend for active use (photography, design etc)

Not Robust

Was able to run chkdsk from a command prompt - process took 7 hours to complete for a 1 TB drive. Although I can now access the data on the drive, I've lost confidence in the hardware.
