Works exactly like you'd expect a memory product from Crucial to work. I've had this SSD for a year & it has performed flawlessly. It's not the fastest SSD made, but it's adequate for my use on my home server. At less than half the size of a smart phone the tiny form factor makes this SSD easy to throw in a backpack or laptop bag.

I love these hard drives. They're very compact, don't run too hot, carry a lot of storage, inexpensive and easy to store. I used them for both archival and video storage.

Excellent SSD hard drive very fast speeds it’s a lot faster then 4tb or 5tb portable hard drive because it has lower speeds not as fast as SSD drive unless the box says it’s SSD drive. I find this drive very compact and very easy to move around.

I bought this for my son to store game data from Steam. It works really well for this purpose. The drive is fast, and the size is great! I was surprised at how small it was.

Pleasantly surprised this was on sale. Fits all my music and is very fast. The sleek profile allows me to put it in my pocket. I am seriously considering purchasing another one.

This is the best I got so far, fast and pretty compact. Did not serve the purpose I was looking for so I did upgrade with a larger space. But highly recommend it as I have known this brand for more than 10 years.

Purchased mini Mac M1 (Turbo Tax would not install on our 2014 iMac). At the same time our prior Time Machine hard drive would not extract the data from last years T.T. form. Another issue is the Mac Mini having 128 GB drive (iMac has the 1 TB Fusion Drive). The 2TB is plenty as a Time Machine for the puny 128 storage. (Naively thought 256 GB would be the smallest in 2025…..). Need a second Time Machine drive (don’t rely on a single backup).

The Crucial X6 drives were recommended by a leading tech publication as a good option for backing up your computer. Very easy to format for use with Apple products. After formatting I attached the drive to the back of my iMac desktop with a pair of Velcro stickies, plugged it in, opened Time Machine and started my backup. Very pleased with cost, capacity and performance.

This ssd external drive is small. Its about 3 inches long by 3 inches wide and maybe 3/8ths inch thick. Comes with its own 3.0 USB C cord and adapter so it can be plugged into a straight USB port. IT'S FAST. I was used too plain harddrives with the disc and this blows them away on speed. You are supposed to be able to get up to 850 mb per second download speed but i have never achieved that. I guess if everything you had was solid state then MAYBE it might work that fast. The casing on it is a hard plastic and the cord fits snugly into the usb C port. I am thrilled by its size and speed BUT only gave it 4 stars cause there are others out there that are even faster.

First thing you'll want to do is format it to get the top performance as some have said. It's rated to run at 800Mbps, if you only have USB 3.0 and a relatively fast rig you're looking at around 600Mbps which is still pretty fast compared to a physical drive. If you don't have the newer types of C-USB on your PC you might as well get this over the 1000+ models.
