They can be used together or separate and work nicely in the oven. The only thing I would change about them is if they could go in the oven on more than 350* and I will be looking for a 12" set next.

The heat distribution is so great that you need to reduce the heat immediately. Pans are easy to hook together and unhook and a snap to clean. Eggs came out perfect.

Even though I have not used it to make fritters yet, I have been using the duo for making beans and stuff and am really happy with the heat distribution and the non-stick quality.

In this case, the skillet happened to be red ... the perfect color for our kitchen [I purchased 2 at a sale price]. Lastly, it is well constructed without being overly weighty. I would ourchase again WITHOUT HESITATION!
