It looks like is part of the design and I don’t know why and does not make sense. Beside that they are awesome and very sharp great set I will recommend it specially if the price is lower from original on the deal of the day.

The green pair comes apart to allow cutting open packages, which is nice, but they do not work well as actual scissors. The other scissors work great.
