I'm not a coffee snob or anything. Just to let you know that right off the bat. If you're looking for someone who can blind taste test coffee and tell you every hint of every flavor in each cup, I wouldn't be able to tell you. That said, I do enjoy coffee. I've had decent coffee makers and drink enough black coffee that I can say I do enjoy the taste of coffee. I never really understood espresso. It's coffee concentrated into a small shot. I probably still don't understand espresso fully but I think I'm coming around and it is probably for the wrong reasons. This espresso machine gets from you no coffee to coffee incredibly quick! My coffee maker is pretty good. It makes full carafes of coffee or single cups and has a ton of settings. We have a bean grinder too so, even if I don't consider myself a connoisseur, I feel like I usually drink some decent coffee. The time it takes to prepare everything and brew even a single cup of coffee is not instant. Handful of minutes and then a little more time for it to cool down to a drinkable level (this is just for me, more power to you if you can drink scolding hot coffee). But this espresso machine is crazy! Put the "pod" in the chamber, maybe wait 10 seconds or so for screen to stop talking about preheating water, and press the button. It takes about another 20-30 seconds and I'm actually drinking my espresso. The temperature cools pretty quickly since it's a small amount. And the taste is much different and I like it. I have 3 different flavors and "boldness" espresso pods and have tried them all. They all have slightly different flavors and I really liked all of them. There aren't a lot of buttons on this machine so there isn't much to think about. If you have a bold enough espresso pod, you can push the double button to make a double shot. That's your only real choice. The water reservoir holds enough water for a dozen espressos and the pods even eject themselves into a container (that also happens to hold a dozen) so you don't even have to worry about prep most of the time. Basically, this machine made me change my mind on espresso entirely. From not understanding really to being a big fan. Just from a convenience standpoint. I don't know how to describe it better. It's just really easy to wake up and press a button and have a small cup of caffeine that only takes a minute to drink ready so quickly. If you're in the market for an espresso machine and you don't know much about espresso then this one might be the one for you. If you're big into espresso and you like the process of packing the coffee and all that, you might like a less automatic machine. For me, this thing is pretty great.

Good Espresso, Capsules Hard To Find

For some reason I expected it to be bigger. I am not a coffee drinker, so doing a shot of espresso is great for me. I don't like coffee. When I need a boost, this works for me. The one issue I had, I could not find the capsules anywhere. Seems like everyone sells the coffee pods but I could not find the espresso capsules close to my home at any grocery stores. Eventually I found them at a retail store. The temperature and flavor is quite good. It is very quick and the empty capsules fall into a chamber behind the cup holder. It really is quite slick the design and removal of the capsules. I would recommend, but check the local stores to see if they have espresso capsules.

Absolutely horrible machine. It worked for about two weeks and then stopped. Had to go through Cuisinart to exchange and they truly represent their products. Both are completely useless. It took four weeks to get a replacement only after messaging them through social media.

SUMMARY ------- If you love expresso , cappuccino and lattes and not just plain coffee. This is the machine you need to get. It does expresso and cappuccino just like you find it in your all inclusive Cancun resort! Really, its that good. It does not take more space than your Keurig and it does expressos! Best part is that it takes the Nespresso capsules which are readily available at all major retail stores. What's in the box ---------------- 1. Cuisinart EM-25 2. User Manual DETAIL ------ Setup ----- The machine really looks well made with a mix of plastic and metal and looks great on the counter top. Setup is easy and straight forward. All the parts click together well. All you just need to do is to make sure to fill the water container (24oz), and the milk container (24oz). Note that the milk container can be disconnected and stored in the fridge so that the milk does not go bad. This machine is compatible with the Nespresso originalline capsules which is great because these are readily available. Once you insert the capsule, you are good to go! Usage ---- This machine makes steamed milk, expresso, cappuccino and latte. The Menu can be used for selecting the type of drink. I found it a little annoying that the steamed milk did not have a default setting for size. You have to push the stop button to stop the steamed milk. Expresso can be a single or a double shot. Single shot in 40ml by default and double shot is 90ml by default. Note that these can be adjusted through the menu. Same goes for the cappuccinos and latte's default is 40 ml with adjustable milk time(not volume). I love my drinks really steaming hot and i like the feature of adjustable temperatures for your drinks. Helps! I always used to find my Keurig not so hot. Its great that all the removable parts are dishwasher safe (top rack) and there is no separate solution that is needed for cleaning. Same goes for descaling, use a 50/50 of vinegar and water. I would definitely recommend this machine as it comes at a great value and does the same job and uses the same capsule - Nesspresso.

good espresso maker, compact footprint and works well. Only disappointment was it did not use the Nespresso VertuoLine pods I have already invested in, this unit uses the Nespresso OriginalLine capsules instead. Overall I'm happy with the unit and will see how it holds up over time and the maintenance required.

This machine is both sleek and compact taking very little counter space. But the espresso it makes tastes like something from a professional coffee shop. Rich and thick. little to no mess with the stealthy way you insert the caps and how they drop into an internal recycle bin for easy removal/ It comes with an easily removable 24 ounce water reservoir that allows you to do 16 single espressos before having to refill. . It has a remoavble drip tray for use with larger cups too. You can do single or double espresso with ease with the programmable settings with a bright blue lcd screen. It has 19 bars of pressure which is more than most of the machines in the same category. You can set brew temperature and standby time as well. Everything is quick and simple. No fuss no muss. Next on my list is to try doing all of the cool designs ya can do in the froth haha Would highly recommend this to others

This is an excellent espresso machine. The flavor is very good and I like the fact that the temperature is adjustable. What I like the most about this machine is that it does not take up too much space. Space is at a premium in my kitchen.

Wow first of all. The major snafu which deserves one star off but can not bring myself to do it, NO INCLUDE STARTER POD PACKS...NADA. But otherwise, a very simple to use and easy to clean up product. I am not a big coffee maker but the small footprint that this unit takes up makes it a welcome addition to our counter top. Once you have the pods, the settings are easy yo follow and wow again the taste and foam makes you feel like your a the coffee shop. The price of the pods both genetic and branded are extremely reasonable, the cleaning features of the machine make using it frequently a very constant joy.

Requires Nespresso Capsules, No Good for Me

I did not realize that being "compatible with Nespresso OriginalLine Capsules" meant that they were required. I am tired of coffee makers that essentially require a subscription service in the form of pods. This makes this nice looking coffee maker a no go. The packaging should say the espresso OriginalLine Capsules are required. Being "compatible" with them sounds like they are optional. The maker looks really nice and professional, would look great in any kitchen or office though.

Super easy to clean, use, maintain, etc. The build quality feels solid, and the interface is intuitive. This is a wonderful appliance to leave on the countertops with the small amount of space it takes.

Where to buy your pods for the machine

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This takes special coffee pods to use in this machine and some use the term “compadable pods” which this machine can use. Be sure to read before you buy so you can find the correct type. https://www.reviewed.com/coffee/features/where-to-buy-nespresso-coffee-pods
