It was time to replace our not that old Waffle Iron. It still worked, but the thing we found most objectional is it was impossible to keep clean and every time we used it, waffle batter dripped down the sides and made a gooey mess. Enter Cuisinart's Vertical Waffle Maker. This thing solves every problem we had with our previous maker. It just can't be easier to use. Make your batter (we found a great waffle recipe on Food Network and honestly homemade batter is just better than out of a box batter), and the waffle iron made perfect waffles with no mess and easy cleanup. The waffle iron has a brushed stainless steel top cover, with non-stick cooking grates, which make a perfect round four-section waffle. All you have to do is turn your waffle maker on (we did lightly spray the plates with spray oil), choose the desired brownness level (3 worked great for our recipe), wait until the light turns green (it is ready to make waffles), and fill the included scoop with waffle batter, pour it in the wide opening and wait for the maker to do it's magic. Nothing leaks out. NOTHING. And when your waffle is ready, the light turns green an audible tone lets you know your waffle is done. The Waffle Maker locks the cooking plates in place to cook. Unlock it, remove the waffle and enjoy. It just can't be any simpler or more effective. I meant to take pictures of the perfectly cooked waffles, but they got eaten before I had the chance to photograph them. Trust me when I say they were terrific! All in all, I can't recommend this jewel of a Waffle Iron more. It's Cuisinart a name you can trust. It's simple to use. It doesn't make a mess. And the waffles come out perfect every time. What more could you want!

I read most of the reviews prior to buying the Cuisinart Top Loading Waffle Maker. I want to put all future potential purchasers that waffles are thoroughly cooked everytime are the norm. The only reason the waffles are undercooked is the user doesn’t set the temperature properly or uses a waffle batter unsuited for the waffle maker. First up, I leave plenty of positive reviews and don’t just come online to complain. This is the first and only Cusinart product getting a negative review from me. Unless batter is ‘perfect’ consistency you will end up with leaks, or malformed waffles. Example: Batter has to be runny enough to make it thru the opening and run through the entire area of the griddle plates. Too runny, and it will leak. Too thick and it will start to cook faster than you can fill the entire griddle area, with this cooked batter causing blockage, which prevents you being able to fill the entire iron. This would not be an issue with a traditional horizontal iron. Fruit, unless pulped, will definitely not work. I attempted using this iron five times. Thoroughly unsatisfactory every time. I knew the plates were not removable, but this iron is maddeningly difficult to clean. The design aesthetic gets an A+. The operational effectiveness gets a solid F. This was bought at Best Buy last weekend and I’m not even bothering to return it. It’s in the trash. Cusinart is a solid Brand. I will still but their products. But this waffle iron has no place in my kitchen.

So easy to use, and cleaning is a breeze! My wife and I used it just yesterday and I feel like my life has since been changed for the better. No longer do I wonder if I used the correct amount, overflow dripping everywhere, and searching the internet for the best way to clean these annoying appliances. Honestly, we stopped eating waffles at home for awhile because of how much a pain in the butt it is to clean the counter never getting the batter amount right and it spills over; or figuring out how to clean each groove when we're done cooking. Now with this marvelous machine being vertical (how has no one thought of this before?!), I never have to worry about cleaning drippy messes again. Just when I thought that was the best part, the waffle maker includes a measuring cup too that is the PERFECT AMOUNT TO POUR IN - plus it has an extra bit on the handle of the cup so you can leave it hanging off the bowl (so clever!). I've used two different recipes with amazing results each time so far (one from Bisquick another from a quick Google search). All you have to do is wait for the beeps to tell you when it's heated up/remove; and in three minutes you'll have the best waffle you'll ever have in your life! Since it's non-stick, I've never had to really scrape anything off, I just wipe away the crumbs and it's ready to store away. Since it's vertical too, it's saves space in the cabinet snug between my larger appliances. I can't think of a bad thing to say about this waffle maker, it's amazing!

Great right out of the box. Instructions right on the money. Very easy to use. Perfect waffles every time. When pouring the batter leave 1/8" from the top. Fruit needs to be blended in order for the batter to drop down inside. Easy to clean and does not take up a lot of room on the counter.

Was not happy with this item I returned it and got the other one the one that flips this one was too messy And it didn’t cook evenly at times

This vertical waffle maker is awesome! It is so simple to use and makes great waffles. The recipes are great and the waffle recipe tastes good too. Easy to clean and stores easily. This is the first waffle maker that I have had that actually does what it advertises to do. Quality product.

This waffle maker is very easy to use, easy to clean, and makes perfect waffles!

We've had this for a while now and love it. It is not perfect, but it fits on the counter so well we actually leave it out and USE IT! It does take a little practice to get the waffles to come out how you want them, but that is true of any cooking appliance. It makes fantastic waffles, it's easy to clean, it's attractive enough you don't mind it on the counter with the coffee maker and toaster. Where it falls short is if you like putting fruit or chocolate chips or whatever in your waffles. It can be done by carefully tilling the unit forward and pouring the waffle batter on the open face of the iron and carefully closing it and standing it back up.

This appliance works just as the direction sheet said it would. It made an excellent waffle the first time we used it. The dial for how well done works very well. This made a medium waffle in about 2.5 minutes. Easy to fill, easy to get the waffle out and easy to clean up.

My wife and I like how compact the waffle maker is, we can just leave it on the counter full time. As with all waffle makers, there are a few things I would like to have seen though. I would like to see a design that has the plates snap in and out for easier cleaning, but if you just let it cook a little longer, any batter can be wiped away. The waffles are nice and uniform with a even darkness across the plates. When you open it up, the waffle will fall easily onto your plate.

Always wanted a waffle maker but certainly not those dreaded pour, close, and flip ones. Then Cuisinart answered my life-long dream. WHAT A DIFFERENCE. This is by far the easiest waffle maker I've ever used.... and no mess!

Best waffle maker I've owned!! I make perfect waffles every time. The design makes sense. I don't experience spillage like the other types of makers. It co.es with a measuring cup that makes pouring the correct amount of batter. Its also so easy to clean up. The nonstick plates are excellent ive never had a waffle stick. I really enjoy using it! I plane to gift it to family this year.

This is one awesome waffle maker, it make perfect waffles everytime. Just put the measuring cup full that comes with maker set your time and it's done, couldn't be any easier, no leaks and easy cleaning.

This is by far the best investment I have made regarding a waffle maker. It stays out on the counters ready to use. It doesn't take up that much space on my countertops and making the waffles is simple just pour it in the top. The only bad thing I can say about this waffle is don't get any mix spilled on the plastic if you don't plan on cleaning it fast it's less easy to clean. The clean up otherwise is a breeze. I bought this waffle maker due to waffle house not being open due to the pandemic but I learned that Waffle house was selling their mix I was able to make them just like the pros just set the dial to 1 1/2 (2 minutes) perfect waffles each time! The reason I rated the quality good versus excellent was only due to the plastic top I mentioned earlier as it isn't easy to clean BUT SERIOUSLY it's worth having this waffle maker.

We are enjoying this product. Still learning how much batter to put in it. No spills or overages like the old one. Waffles comes out beautiful. Would highly recommend.

This vertical waffle maker is fantastic. No more running over the edges. Compact and easy to use. Just make sure batter isn't too thick to run down into the maker.
