This unit makes great waffles and the fact that it is vertical makes no difference. Each waffle is evenly cooked. I'm sure you get better at judging how much batter you should add to get complete waffles but consistency still is a problem for us. If we were to buy a waffle maker for a family member we probably would buy a unit that makes two waffles at a time. While it is not a big deal, one waffle at a time slows down breakfast quite a bit. This unit is very well made and is easy to store due to it's vertical orientation.

Love it. Was worried at first about it standing upright but waffles come out perfect everytime and it takes up SO much less space on the counter and when stored away. Now I don’t think I’d ever buy a waffle maker that sits or has to be flipped. Buying another for my mom so she can cook waffles for the grandkids

I bought this as one of the Christmas presents for my parents. My mom has specifically requested a waffle iron and this one seemed to be safer to me(Now I am not a doctor, nor engineer, and not any type of safety inspector in any legal accountable manner). My mom had complained about getting a small burn with the model (not Cuisinart) she had prior. This particular model, Cuisinart - Vertical, seems to have less steps where you are moving stuff around. You just pour the batter into the top and cook. Then when it's done you lower it down and it's done. It skips the step on other models where it's flat and you pour it in, then you lift it up and lower the device back down. Less steps to waffley-goodness. Win-Win.

I bought this because it was the only one on the shelf and I needed something quick for a friend that was visiting. It looked like a good idea when I bought it. Just pour the batter down the spout and voila! Unfortunately, the spout can clog with thick batter. It's messier than you would think as it's very hard to tell when to stop pouring. It's best to use a measuring cup so you don't overfill it. It does make good waffles, though. Once you get the setting the way you like it, the waffles come out perfect. The unit is a little heavy and awkward to store but it does stand vertically without tipping. It's solid from that standpoint. There are other waffle makers available at a lower price with the "flip over" feature, which this one does not have. I would prefer that flip feature but this one still does the job just fine. It's fairly easy to get the waffles out. Once you open the machine, the waffle simply plops onto the lower mould and you can flip it out with a fork or with your fingers (if you're tough).

If you like waffles from restaurants you’ll love this item!! Get your favorite waffle batter and get to work. It’s easy to set up and cooks in minutes. Basically mix your batter, set the dial to preferred setting, wait for the ready beep then pour the batter into the top. It comes with a pour cup and several delicious recipes to experiment with! This is a must have product if you love waffles.

This doesn’t take up a lot of space, easy to use, compact and stays out on my counter all the time. Like that you can make a selection how well done I would like my waffle.

This upright waffle maker really does make excellent waffles. However, If the batter used is too thick, it won't make a proper waffle. The trick is to water down the thick batter until it's slightly runny. Use no more than 3/4 cup and you'll get a great waffle out of this machine. A bonus to the upright design of this unit is the space you'll save when storing it.

I followed the instructions to NOT add any non-stick spray or butter, and this works perfectly every time. Delicious, fluffy waffles in minutes. I'm in love!

Great waffle maker, easy to use and foolproof! We like our waffles a little crispy, so we use the number 5 setting and let it go a minute or so beyond the timer. Waffles come off the maker perfectly and it is super easy to clean. Thinking about buying a second one, so when company is over we can speed up the process of production. Simply put, the best waffle iron we have ever used!

I’ve used so many waffle makers between my parents models to hotel and cafeteria models and this is by far the best. No more spending time cleaning up the batter that oozed from accidentally pouring too much. The measuring cup that is included and the design of the waffle maker creates a perfect waffle every time and it is super easy to store.

The vertical waffle maker is awesome. It amazing how you pour the batter into the top and the batter runs to the bottom in an even coverage. Cooked it on #3 and the waffle comes out perfectly. I would recommend this machine to everyone.

Love this waffle maker! I was concerned at first that it would leak etc. but it turned out to be excellent. Waffles come out perfect everytime, no fuss no muss. I loved it so much that I got one for my mother in law.

Had many others,none like this very nice ,easy clean up,comes with spatula, tongs and a measuring cup for your batter,like the temperature settings doesn't burn your waffles,i bought three one for myself and two for friends they love the great taste of the waffles the price was good

We found this unit to be very easy to use. It is dependable, especially when it comes to feeding a family of five. We can appreciate the unique & sleek vertical feature to this appliance, as it’s a space saver on a counter. We plan on enjoying our homemade waffles for many years to come. Can’t beat Cuisinart products!

There are a few flaws in the design, mostly the fact that it is verticle, but it is a solid product and makes a good waffle without a huge mess.

We love our new waffle iron! So easy to use, pour the batter in the top in a measured amount, wait for the timer and PRESTO! A perfect waffle. And the iron is easy to clean, too! We like it so much we bought one for our waffle loving daughter-in-law!

easy to use and makes great Belgian waffle! My teenage son is easily able to make himself a waffle without help! The measuring cup and pouring spout help make it simple

i use this a lot and I'm loving it. Easy to use, easy to remove the waffle. Doesn't require much cleaning I think as long as you use enough oil in your waffle that it doesn't stick. Cooks evenly.
