I bought this after my 10-year one stopped working properly. (I believe the average life span is about 10 years). I love how this machine not only provides another step of surge protection, but how it performs flawlessly as a battery backup during power failures. I set the UPS for the amount of time I needed to shut down my electronic systems properly during a power failure. The Sine Wave system is a comfort to know it is there when/if needed. I can highly recommend Cyber Power 1500VA Sine Wave Battery Backup System.

Due to rolling brownouts in my area, I had to invest in one of these.
It looks great, is about the size of a PS4 and very very heavy.
Now the part that matters: Does it work?
Quite well in fact. The very next day after I got it, I had a blackout that knocked out power to the room I was in. My gaming PC didn’t so much as stutter and continued to function as normal. The display on the front of the UPS notified me instantly of how long I had to power down before the backup died.
In my opinion it is expensive, but, considering the cost of most of the components people would likely hook into this…it’s not a bad investment to protect even more expensive ones.

Excellent UPS for Sine Wave

I purchased the Cyber Power 1500VA Sine Wave UPS for a high end Gaming Desktop. The Cyber Power is a pure Sine Wave UPS and provides clean 60Hz stable power even during summer brown outs. It also has enough power outlets for my needs. The only limitation is the spacing of the outlets. There are only two for larger transformer plugs. This is a limitation of the physical footprint. This unit is big enough and would have to be much larger to space the plugs farther apart. Heat is not an issue. This unit runs cool and quiet and can easily fit in a cabinet. After 6 months this unit has functions flawlessly and I have no complaints.

I’ve had this CyberPower 1500VA for over a year now, and it continues to work flawlessly. Setup was simple, the LCD display makes it easy to monitor load and battery status, and the pure sine wave output gives me peace of mind that my PC and networking gear are well protected. It’s quiet, solidly built, and has never let me down during outages or power blips. A dependable backup system that’s proven itself long-term.

These are the starting point in my opinion for battery backups. At least for desktops, smaller servers and some network setups. The front display is convenient for load balancing with multiple units. Obviously these can be setup with your rig to auto-power down your more valuable assets when you reach a certain threshold. While I recommend these highly for homes, desks and some networking/server applications I wouldn't use this in lieu of a proper server battery backup for larger companies. These also have the added benefit of replaceable internal batteries which is much cheaper than replacing the whole unit, making it a better investment than some of the smaller options that seal everything up. If you are on the edge, just buy it. Yes it's expensive, but most likely it's cheaper than whatever you might have to replace.

We've got five of the predecessor model of this unit and two of this We own two of this updated version that now sports a color screen. (Hopefully this new screen will not lose illumination output after a few years like the FIVE of original version that, otherwise, are still going strong.) But screens are not why you buy this, it's because it does such a good job at helping to ensure the longevity of your electronics!
Since California has irregular blackouts and surges, this does FAR MORE than just smoothing voltage; TRUE SINE WAVE is critical for the long-life of power supplies that keep your computers, HDD and SSD's running. Ouch, it's more expensive than the other models that compete on price, but to my mind, the *entire* reason you buy this sort of thing is insurance...and what's the point of an insurance policy if it doesn't come through when you need it? So, suck it up and go for TRUE SINE WAVE!
Over the years we've replaced over a dozen Tripp and APC units (yes, I know batteries can be replaced on any of these); Cyberpower seems to have cracked the code of best bang-for-buck, and make units that just keep working.

This is a great UPS for a gaming PC. I recently purchased an Alienware desktop and needed a battery backup big enough to handle the power requirements of a gaming rig. I have a 27" monitor hooked up the UPC as well. The computer draws around 500+ Watts during extreme gaming. When you check the status of the UPC, it shows it has around 8 minutes, so this UPC is sufficient in safely powering down during a gaming session.
I've owned CyberPower UPCs in the past and currently have a smaller one for my other home computer and it's always done great. I live in TX so we have frequent storms and power outages and it's never failed.
What I like about this one is the display. It can be left on, but it has a ton of info. The display can be angled upwards for better viewing if you decide to have the UPS on the floor. I also like the number of outlets it has. It's always good to have more than not have enough. I can't think of any negatives on this unit, but it's definitely worth having this UPS as insurance. Don't trust a cheap surge protector for your gaming PC. If you're spending $$$ on a gaming PC, this UPS is going to save you in the long run.

I live in an area where the power grid is not the best. If the wind blows too hard the power will flicker. I work 100% remote and I'm a gamer so power outages are my kryptonite. I decided to purchase this work my work area and it did not disappoint. It has all the bells and whistle for my to continue my day to day cyber activities without the fear of losing power. I have everything in my office connected to my device even my internet so that stays connected as well. I was so impressed, I purchased another for my gaming setup. These devices have been a life saver (in life and in game :-)

My old unit (also purchased from BB), died after 6 years. Lasted a lot longer that i expected. Picked up this slightly more powerful unit and got it up and running in less than 10 minutes. I love the better display and ease of navigating the menus. Unit build is rock solid - does not feel cheap at all. Have a network switch and home theater components plugged in. Love the peace of mind. A great purchase and great customer service from Bestbuy.

Good UPS for PS5/Mac

I bought two of these, one for my iMac and the other for my PS5. They've worked perfectly when the power was knocked out due to a storm. I highly recommend them.
Actually, the Macs need a sine wave battery backup. So it's even more recommended there.

Purchased for use at work (school teacher) to protect against power surges and power outages in an area notorious for such events. School district IT department did the plug-and-play installation; it was a snap. The system has already proved to be worth the investment!

Reliable Backup Power With Clean Output

This CyberPower 1500VA unit has been amazing in my setup and easily deserves 5 stars. It kicks in smoothly whenever I get an occasional power loss or flicker, keeping my PC and other gear running long enough to save work and shut down safely without any drama.
The capacity is plenty for a typical desktop, monitors, and networking gear, and the front display makes it easy to see load, estimated runtime, and battery status at a glance. I really appreciate that it uses true sine wave output, which provides a cleaner, more stable power signal than cheaper simulated sine wave units. That cleaner output is better for sensitive electronics and modern power supplies, helps avoid buzzing or coil whine, and generally gives more confidence that your hardware is protected the right way.
Overall, it is quiet in normal use, does exactly what it is supposed to do during an outage, and adds a lot of peace of mind for a reasonable price.

Very nice UPS, I never owned a cyberpower before, but I like this design and the review so I gave it a try. I wanted this unit to hook up my modem, router, tv, printer, and a few other things to protect my investment, so far there is no power outage so I can't tell, however it is showing the wattage with good accuracy. I love the unit is quiet and small, my work place us APC and they are little bigger than this. One thing I do notice is that there is this new plastic burn smell when you first take it out and use, but it goes away after a week or so.
