Disappointing Performance, Poor Design
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.TL;DR Version: I'm giving this PC 2 stars because I think the marketing is wildly misleading. This PC, in stock form, is simply not capable of playing many games at high quality graphics settings. Additionally, the cooling arrangement is completely ineffective and WILL cause your components to throttle themselves back due to overheating. Read the details below if you're interested. Purchasing this PC has led me to a crash course in modifying and upgrading computers. Had I known what I know now, I probably wouldn't buy this again. I purchased this computer primarily to play games. A combination of simple games and relatively intensive games like Cyberpunk. While it can run less intensive games like WoW and Call of Duty without issues, I VERY quickly ran into problems with anything that's graphics-intensive. The biggest design flaw is the cooling arrangement. You get two intake fans on the front, one exhaust fan on the rear, and an air-cooled CPU cooler. This is not nearly enough airflow through the case, and the CPU cooler vents heat directly into the case. The single rear exhaust fan is not capable of removing enough heat for the computer to run properly. As soon as things start to heat up, the computer got incredibly noisy and hot. I noticed it throttling itself heavily after about 10-15 minutes of gaming. I invested in a 360mm AIO for the CPU that exhausts out of the top of the case which alleviated the overheating issue. I then had to add two more intake fans on the side of the case to balance the pressure again, ensuring it doesn't collect a massive amount of dust inside the case. Another issue I had is that 16GB of RAM just seems like the bare minimum for most high quality games and other media-related applications these days. With RAM being so cheap, I don't know why Cyberpower doesn't include 32GB from the factory. I removed the included RAM stick and added a pair of Corsair Vengeance sticks, things run much smoother now. Lastly, and this is a more esoteric gripe, the 4060 Ti is disappointing. Cyberpower touts this GPU as "high end," and, not knowing any better, I believed the marketing. The reality is that the 4060 Ti struggles with graphics-intensive games and runs out of VRAM very quickly. It's a low-middle-tier GPU that offers poor value for your money. I'll be replacing it in the near future which will also require replacing the bare-minimum no-name-brand 600W power supply that comes with this computer. After all is said and done, the only stock parts that will remain are the motherboard, CPU, and case. The upside to all of this is that I now understand the process of setting up and building a computer basically from the ground up. For $1400, you should be getting a much more competent machine. The few good points about this computer: -Cyberpower does a pretty decent job of cable management. Unfortunately, I had to undo most of it in order to add fans and replace other components. -The case is reasonably good quality and allowed for easy enough access to add components, cable manage, and accommodated the 360mm AIO.
