I already had a gaming pc, but it was about 5 years old. It had a Geforce 1660 graphics card, which was ok (at least I thought it was ok). I recently pre-ordered the new Battlefield 6 game, and my old pc met the minimum specs. I downloaded the Beta and discovered that there was one spec that my gaming pc did not have, and that was the ability to turn on secure boot, which is required for Battlefield 6 to help prevent hackers. As a result, I decided to also pre-order Battlefield 6 for my PS5, and I played the Beta for a little bit on there, and was really disappointed. I kept getting killed by people I could not see. I also play a lot of Call of Duty, and with the newest season which just dropped, I was getting daily warnings that my pc did not have Secure Boot enabled, so I realized that Call of Duty was about to make that mandatory as well.
As a result of all of that, I decided it was time to upgrade. I looked at what was available, looked at specs, and read some reviews and decided on this machine.
Upon removing the pc from the box that it comes in, I quickly discovered an issue. The quick start guide that came with my computer had the wrong directions based on the case that my pc was housed in. In order to remove the foam that was packed inside of the pc case, the directions said to unscrew two bolts on the back and slide the one side panel off. Well, on this model, there are no screws, and I was completely loss. I went online and happened to find a video that someone posted, and discovered that with this pc, the top is magnetic, so you simply pull the top off. Then, the side panel will pull right off (not slide). I removed the foam inside of the pc case, reinstalled the side panel, and reattached the magnetic top piece.
From there, I hooked everything up, and powered it up and did the setup. That process was fairly straight forward and didn't take very long. I hardwire my gaming pc to my router for ultimate speed, so I didn't need to use the included antenna for the WIFI.
After installing both the Battlefield 6 Beta, and Call of Duty Black Ops 6 on my new pc, I gave them a try. I first tested the Battlefield 6 Beta, and all I can say is "WOW." I was able to see everything, very clearly. Now playing that game is enjoyable. After testing that game, I played Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Warzone, and there is a very noticeable improvement in my gameplay with this new gaming pc. I almost forgot to mention this one issue I had. I use a battery backup system for my pc's, and the one I had for my gaming pc just happened to also be a CyberPower product. It was working just fine until I opened the Battlefield app. The graphics card drew too much power for my battery backup, causing it to shutdown. I tried it twice before realizing that my current backup battery wasn't able to handle the power that this new pc required, so I went back to Best Buy and bought the really nice, mac daddy CyberPower battery backup, and that one handles this gaming PC like a champ. So if you are upgrading from an inferior system like I did, keep that in mind.
