I have several of these switches and LOVE them. I love having the option to use Alexa to turn ceiling fans off, on and change the speed.

I’ve replaced pretty much every switch in my house with smart switches so I’ve had experience. That made the process of installing this very easy. If this is your first time make sure you turn off the breaker. Then use a sensor to ensure the power is really off. Then pay attention to how the current switch is wired (take a photo to help you remember) and then be patient. If the room is dark because you’ve turned off the power, it helps to have someone hold a flashlight while you work. The switch itself is fantastic. No longer to I have to stone on my bed to reach the pull chain to change the speed. I can just tell Alexa to do it. I saw some reviews that said it didn’t work with Alexa but it does and it works great. I’m buying another one for my living room fan. I should add that my ceiling fans do not have lights so this made installation a breeze. If you have a light with your fan I imagine it would be more complicated but I cannot speak to that. I gave 5 stars overall but 4 stars for value because it is a bit pricey compared to other switches out there. But the old say “you get what you pay for” definitely applies. I’m very pleased with the purchase.

Build quality and features are good, but it's not compatible with ceiling fans that have remote controls. Do not buy unless you have a regular pull chain ceiling fan.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Smart Ceiling Fan switch. Easy to install. Easy to use. We have it connected to Google and Amazon.

easily installation as long as you have a neutral wire. Love that i can just ask alexa to turn off the fan and not “ask cync to do…” which is what i thought id be getting. Very fast response time as well. I was annoyed that during set up it couldnt be located because “smart switches” and “smart fan switches” are different on this app

I actually like this..i can control with my voice or my phone.

This little device turned our simple "dumb" ceiling fan into an automated "smart" fan. Physically, the installation was straightforward. However, it took a 20 minute phone call to Cync tech support to get the switch recognized by our Google Home setup. The customer support fellow was helpful and patient. All-in-all, this is highly recommended for anyone who has existing fans without remote controls. Or, would just like to dispense with the bother of keeping track of fan remotes.

This switch is awesome. It was super simple to install and works great!

The switch is very responsive whether they're controller via a phone or a voice assistant.

Does what it says it's supposed to do little tricky to set up at first but it works

This is the perfect remedy for a ceiling fan in which the control switch was installed in a different room than the fan itself. The switch was just a standard light switch so there wasn’t any speed control and the fan is too high to reach the pull chain. I love being able to control it via voice or in the app.

Great item but sadly it can't control the light for the fan

I ended up returning this because I didn't realize that it only worked to control the fan. The switch doesn't include the ability to control the fan's lighting, which would essentially leave them inoperable.

I really like all of the Cync by GE smart switches, and this is no exception. It installs easily, and connects well with Alexa. The only to be aware of is that it sets up much easier with an android device than it does with an Apple device.

This does an ok job of setting up a ceiling fan to work with a smartphone app and Alexa or something similar. However it works by throttling power to the entire unit to which it is wired. Unlike most other smart fan switches, it does NOT support separate controls for the fan and the lightkit—and if your fan DOES have a light kit you actually need a separate switch for those lights, otherwise your lights will be dim or off when your fan is on low. There is some compatibility but also some interoperability glitches with having other "Cync" switches also in use. The app is pretty very basic and has some design challenges. Devices can only be managed in the app, there is no way to manage them on the website. I would not purchase this product again, but it functions just enough to not be worth it to uninstall it and replace it... provided I can get the wiring updated so that the lights and fan are not on the same control.

Great choice for home automation. I wanted a way to remotely control my home ceiling fans. With this device I can set times etc. easy to install.

Tirns fan into 4 speeds as well as linking with Alexa. Never get up to turn on fan again.

I have a light switch in a terrible spot and this makes it much easier.
