Works great with google assistant. Sometimes there are issues with the C by GE app not recognizing the device, but even when the app isnt working, the google assistant works.

Having an older house with no neutral wire, I bought this hoping to add voice functionality to my light switch. Install and setup went smooth, but two weeks in, the switch would randomly and increasingly lose connection to my Wi-Fi. It wouldn’t have mattered but it always caused my overhead light to flicker off an on when it reconnected, causing me to have to remove and replace it with a Lutron Caseta.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The quality of the physical switch is good. It is also one of the few smart switches that doesnt require a neutral wire. (Unless your home was specifically wired for smart switches, you will most likely not have a neutral wire in the switch box. You would need to hire an electrician to come a install one. Which is $$$).
The huge problem is the app that controls the switch. 50% of the time it doesnt work and the switch looses connection. 25% of the time, the alexa wont recognize the switch. The remaining 25% of the time, it takes 5-10seconds to work. I tried 4 switches one two different routers to diagnose the problem. It just isnt reliable. I would also recommend seeing the reviews on the "c by ge" app.
Long story short. The switch is not reliable due to the software. Dont buy

First off I love the LED ring style of this switch and so does everyone who see's it. It's even better at night to help find a switch.
Can't be bothered to push the cool ring to turn on the lights? This switch is Alexa compatible so you can use voice commands to turn on or dim as well as set schedules.
