This router and extender was very easy to setup. Once I plugged everything in the setup wizard walked me through the steps. The speed of this router is faster than the one I currently own and the extender makes the WiFi signal very strong at the other end of my house. I also noticed one of the features called "Quick VPN" that will enable me to setup a secure vpn tunnel. I think that is awesome because I don't have to pay for it anymore. I am very happy with this router.

D-Link brought their A-game with this system! The product is one of the easiest I've ever set up and takes care of dead areas with the seamless extender. I have a smaller home but do have some thick walls that can cause trouble for my Wi-Fi signals with a traditional router. This system takes care of that problem with a seamless transition to the extender. I've tried a couple of different inexpensive routers used in AP mode to fix my weak spots and none have worked as good as this unit. I highly recommend it to smooth out those weak signal spots in your home.

I have tested several routers in my home and I think I like this one the best. It combines many of the features that I liked from all of the different routers/extenders. The main unit has a classic "hardcore" look to it with the big body and antennas. It looks nice and heavy duty. The setup was also very easy, I chose to use the app vs using the hard line method. It was up and running in less than 5 minutes, and that includes connecting the extender. The wireless range is far superior to any one that I have used. I tried a previous "mesh" network and for some reason had issues with my modem/router from my provider and the wireless signals. They almost seemed to clash. I asked a cable technician and he said that networks on the same ghz band can cause issues. Now with this setup I have had zero issues. I have freed up bandwidth from my original network and have added this awesome network. The range reaches full strength from my whole house including my large backyard. That is because I strategically placed the extender to pickup my basement and backyard. The only drawback is the lack of a USB 3.0 port. I really wanted to install a network hard drive but was not able to do so. I don't really use/need one but I wanted to just for the novelty of it. Overall I would highly recommend this setup if you want fast speeds and a whole lot of coverage.

I have been fortunate to test several routers. This router by far was a joy to set up. No complicated wiring diagrams to figure out, as the router was clearly marked for my connections via an intuitive wizard. It took me approximately 10 minutes until I was online. Signal strength was excellent throughout my home. I did not experience any dead spots nor was there any diminished WI-FI speeds. YIPPEE! You should know that the D-Link AC3900 router is multi-functional in its usages. It has loads of bandwidth, you can connect multiple devices to it. I am elated to have tested this out and to be in receipt of great coverage! The D-Link is a very good system with the ability to expand if needed. Needless to say, I highly recommend this unit for anyone’s home WI-FI needs.

This product is very easy to set up and use. One thing to bear in mind is that this is a Wi-Fi extender. It does not replace the router you already have. It does a great job of taking your existing connection and making it better. Our home is not that large, however, due to the construction of it we have dead zones where our signal is weak. This unit handles that easily.

D-Link makes good routers. This router is a good router. D-Link sees competitors coming up with brilliant MESH network concepts, so they wanted to get in to the business buy creating the COVR system. Just to clarify - this is NOT Mesh wifi - Its a ROUTER and EXTENDER setup. The product lit and package tout "Parental controls" - What they really mean is "site blocking by MAC address" - No scheduled access, device group pause, or usage quotas that are STANDARDS in everyone else's parental controls on Mesh setups. Again, this is NOT a Mesh setup, but its definitely trying to compete with them, albeit poorly. Don't get me wrong, the included base router is a BEAST! Has excellent controls for a traditional router, and coverage is great. If you live in a house like mine where your router location isn't central, and you've previously required "MESH" setups to distribute Wi-Fi well throughout the house, this router MAY work well for you, but don't expect the "Mesh" level of coverage or consistent speed across your square footage.
