    CONCLUSION: - expensive for a 2MP camera. - performance is middling at best. - impossible to setup or configure without internet access. - at the $100 price point there are many, many other choices with better video, capabilities, and software. DETAIL The camera performance is just middling, not very impressive at all given the price. In addition to the sharpness and clarity being below standard, mine doesn't turn the night light on or off correctly. So daytime looks grey, but nighttime things look pinkish or purple. And let's just say that a slightly out of focus look combined with funny colors doesn't work well. In addition, it's pricey for a 2MP cam ... but what's worse is that I see nothing in the cam to justify the cost. (The fact that mine may need to be returned obviously colors my opinion.) The software app is okay. It wants to be your home automation center, and if you wish to write instructions to your devices in it you'll find it a bit complicated. But the app and the cam must be able to talk to the internet or you cannot configure it. If you're like me and you block cams' internet access at the router this is a problem. Or, if you have poor internet access. Given you can get 4MP (or higher) cams that produce better images/video for the same price or lower, there's no reason to recommend this camera.

    I bought this camera yesterday, setting it up was easy. I installed the app and loaded it up, app was a little wonky from the beginning but the setup went pretty well. The resolution was pretty good, night vision worked pretty well. The next day I went to work and loaded the app to check up on my new puppy. The app is horrible, it’s laggy, you try to pan and it either doesn’t respond or it responds several seconds later. I tried to turn the sound on so I could hear what was happening, that worked about 2 times out of the 15 times I tried it. I’m returning it tomorrow. A good camera ruined by its software.

    Motion and sound detection is a joke. Changes in sunlight trip the motion sensor even at its lowest setting. Might be useful if you want to monitor a windowless bathroom or closet. The audio pickup sensor is also out of wack, both are overly sensitive. It makes a noise, (relay?) when switching to IR, audio monitor also picks this up. Had to turn off all push notifications due to all the bogus trips. Maybe a future firmware update will correct this, but for now, a basic IP camera is a better option.

    Purchased this model based on the Best Buy reviews and a DLink at another office. WiFi setup proved too time consuming, so a wired connection was used. Wanted to view the web cam image in real time on a PC,like our other model Dlink. This model does not have portal viewing, only viewing with the App. Trying to tweak the settings to record only motion during closed hours was challenging. Instructions for setup, scheduling and configuration should be available, since there is not an intuitive interface for the user.

    I own several D-link cameras. They are well built. This one feels cheap right out of the box. It lasted one night and the sensor messed up on it. I returned it the next day. The company is working towards making setup easier than it was. I think they are headed in the right direction with the software for the ordinary consumer. Their hardware however, is a big fail! Better software is worthless if the hardware can't last two days!

    We bought this camera a couple months back to watch our dog while we're at work. I regret not returning it when I had the chance.. This camera freezes more than it does anything else and I find it absolutely infuriating. I am sure there are other options that are better than this for $100.00

    I would not purchase this again. Video/Sound quality is good. Controls to move camera around is also good. The bad though... You have a very limited configuration for recording. You can not continually record, you can not set the length of record time after being triggered.

    I bought this to be able to check on my mom who is disabled. Biggest complaint is the buffering but that may be due to slow internet speed where it is hooked up. I like the tilt and pan features.

    I bought this because my other dlinks have a web-based UI, but these newer models do not which make them very limited in functionality with other APPS. I therefore retrieved it.
