    Not an IP Camera

    If you want to be completely stuck in the “mydlink” ecosystem, this is perfect for you, other than a really sluggish app. It’s labeled “IP Camera” in the search options, but it isn’t. You’d think you could plug it into your network, plug it on, and, you know, access it via IP, but no. You need to download an app on your phone, create an account with d-link, and set it up over Bluetooth. There’s no IP stream option, you can only view it through the app. Some people have muscled their way into an “ip” type setup so you can get it on third party devices, but it’s a hassle, and could be killed with firmware update.

    The camera shows a nice pic and Pans, Tilts, & Zooms as expected. It is set up and controlled via the phone app ONLY!. That is really inconvenient. The interface is a bit confusing and obtuse- not intuitive at all. The first one I got could not connect to the wifi as described but the replacement worked as described. Note that multiple networks (5G, Guest, etc) can confuse it. There is no realtime interaction beyond the two lights on the front. Once connected and configured, it does the job well.

    Good camera but does not work with mydlink+ or mydlink lite. Newer app unnecessarily complicated and esoteric. Floating bubbles and too many windows to get where you want to be. Takes forever to load. Won't work with older phones and ipads soon. Can't acess on windows computer. Not password protected. Not an extender like some of there older cameras. Nice it has ceiling mode if you hang it upside down. I would recomend it but only if with an unmixed group of cameras. I still go to the older app to view the older cameras.

    It was a good concept but the night vision was not what I needed it to be I like the fact that it moved but when the lights were out I could not see anything so I ended up returning and getting the Nest I Q The primary reason for getting this was to keep an eye on my soon to be two-year-old at night

    It was a cool camera , I was able to check up on my kids when I was at work. Talk to them threw there and record. But it was to good to be real after a couples weeks it’s starts acting up. I posted pictures of a before and after.

    This camera is medicore. The software isn't polished whatsoever, and that makes it a hassle to use. It does relatively the same features, but the UI is not intuitive, and camera doesn't move in the right direction about half of the time when controlled.

    I'm sorry for the 3 stars, I didn't know what to rate this since I haven't been able to pair it with my wifi. We called customer service, they believe our business wifi is too strong to connect. :(

    Good for the price. setup was fairly easy. The app on the other hand needs some work. Not user friendly and not intuitive. app does favor WiFi over cellular. cellular crawls and WiFi has a few second delay.

    Camera is decent quality, but only alerts in 10 second blocks. I want the camera to keep recording if it senses movements. Plus motion tracking would be great too.

    I like the ability to remotely make the camera turn to view more of the room. However the app that controls it is not real intuitive and not documented.

    This is okay. It reacts very slowly and disconnects itself often. It can be grainy at times and I expect more from something like this.

    I like it because you can view from anywhere. But it may say insufficient internet bandwidth to play recordings. You have to unplug and plug back in.
