Customers are saying

Customers recognize the HD Wi-Fi Camera's excellent camera quality, ease of use, and effective night vision as significant strengths. Many also appreciate its reasonable price and wide field of view, although some experienced difficulties with initial setup and occasional connectivity problems. A few users mentioned challenges with the app and the need to purchase an SD card separately. Overall, the positive feedback on image quality and usability outweighs the reported issues with setup and connectivity.

I got a pair of the Arlo wireless (battery powered) cameras for Christmas, and tested them. Worked ok but decided cost of battery replacement and lack of local video storage were not what I wanted. Returned easily for store credit and bought one of these D-Link HD wifi cameras to test. I've had it installed for about a week and so far so good. I was able to install a microSD card I already had on hand. Setup was pretty easy, although I had to reset and redo once since I didn't follow their directions exactly. I am relatively tech and networking saavy, having been in IT for 30 years, and I could see that novices might likely need to get customer support to assist with setup. But, for the cost (half as much for two as for two of the Arlo's), and the flexibility in advanced setup, these will work for me. The video quality in light and infrared is very good at the distance I have my test unit at the inside of my front door. And, the area motion sensor setting to set off recording works very well. I'm able to access the recordings via my iPhone or laptop. I haven't configured it yet, but I can set it to send still clips of triggered events via email. I'll probably purchase at least one more of these to monitor our back door as well. Caveats: 1) will take some patience to configure, and customer support is likely needed for non-techies. I have had good luck with other D-link products. 2) comes with AC adapter and a short 5' power cord, so will need an extension most likely and some way to hide cords. 3) will need a microSD card to store video locally, but can be adapted to record to network storage or a D-link NVR I believe. 4) will need reliable home wifi network.

Bought this to monitor the parking lot of my apartment complex from the second floor balcony and it works fantastic! A nice wide view angle, sharp picture, 3 way positioning, very decent night vision, and an app to see live view or recordings on the sd card from your phone! What more could you ask for? This was my first security camera purchase and I'm more than happy with it. For the price it does more than I expected. Not really an outside camera but not, not an outside camera lol I wouldn't mount it where it would be prone to elements but it's done well through indirect rain and sun. I could see the motion detection notifications becoming annoying but if you're like me and you feel you need a security camera in the first place, well, it's manageable. I started using the record on motion detection, but lets be honest; technology fails at times. So while motion detection worked pretty much as expected I went ahead and set it to record full time just for good measure. Between the app, D Link website, and the IP interface for the camera itself, it's not shy on features or controls. Highly recommend this to anyone just needing an extra eye on things at home. Idk why everyone has had so much trouble setting it up tho. Always check YouTube for reviews and explanations. A 1hr review helped me get set up and solid in 1hr and that's awesome. The photo included is what to expect with night vision. You don't need a "Serurity System" anymore, just a couple security cameras at best. Side Note: If you plan on having more than 3 you might consider getting a wifi router just for this. The bandwidth is intra, not inter, and you would be able to access them through the IP address and see the live view just as easily and it'll make less of an impact on your usable internet.

Camera works well if you have good steady internet. We have DSL and it is very slow so the image on my phone is iffy. Having said that when the DSL is working the resolution is pretty good considering what is advertised on the box. The night vision is better than expected. To get good sound and picture quality out of it you probably need 5mbs internet speed minimum. Took a bit to get it finally working but it could be due to our low internet speed.

This wireless security camera works well with mydlink lite app on android devices. The picture is clear and the night vision is sufficient. My only issue with this camera, similar to another make camera that I own, is that the camera sends notification any time the camera automatically switches between the daylight view and the nighttime view as if there is motion detected.

I bought this camera mainly to monitor my sump pumps while I'm away. I often have water coming into my sump pit from a tile field around the house foundation and if water is coming in when I'm out of town I like to be able to check in on it every day. I like the automatic switch over from daylight to night IR viewing. Setup using the D-Link app on my iPhone was simple. I liked it so much I bought a second one and have it set up in my family room. I put an SD card in the one in the family room and when I'm gone I can set up record on motion detection. I wanted to assign both cameras a static IP address. There is a setting for that in the setup section but I can't seem to get it to work. That's the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. It's a no-frills camera, that is, no pan or tilt and no zoom, But with it's wide angle view it see's an entire room.

Set up was easy at first. Then after I disconnected from the power source I have to do the whole set up again. This time it took at least 10 tries to connect via wifi. After that it works fine. I like the auto/day/night modes and it can be viewed wherever you are. Can also be zoomed. And i have a 32gb mini memory and it records everything motion activated.

    Affordable Security/Home Monitoring Camera

We bought this camera to monitor our front yard and vehicles after our neighborhood had issues with someone pulling on car door handles to find unlocked ones. We have it set up to record to a MicroSD card which eliminates the need for a costly DVR setup. We have it set to record when it detects motion so the little 64GB card holds quite a number clips over the course of two weeks. At 720p the camera has a decent image quality. We can easily pick out license plate numbers and faces of people walking around outside. It has a large viewing angle and can record at night. The night vision is ok but doesn’t pick out fine details like it does during the day. The best part about this camera has to be MyDlink. The app allows me to view my camera in real-time from my phone anywhere and anytime. I can playback clips and take snapshots right from the app. The app itself is easy to navigate and use and we love it.

Wanted a nanny cam for our home while on vacay. 30 minutes easy install and could watch and hear my music room on my iphone from anywhere. Motion detectors sent an email alert and I could watch live (I'm sure it records but I didn't set that up yet).

Easy to set up! Stationary camera. Can watch video at 720p, hear audio, record and take pics. I haven't tried the motion sensor. I used it to watch my pet tortoise while I was away. Day and night vision are both excellent. I could see everything clearly. Very little lag, and I had my camera pretty far away from my modem. Setup is easy enough, takes the camera a few minutes and have to download an app. Sometimes my power cuts out randomly, which will cause stuff in my house to reboot, i.e. modem, satellite receiver, etc. Camera also reboots, but after a few minutes reconnects to the WiFi which reboots first and everything is good! Camera was easy to cennect to me

This camera was easy to set up and has a clear picture with audio. The only reason 4 stars was due to the fact that the only way to be alerted to something breaking through your zone was via email. Immediate notification would be awesome.

Simple and easy to use. Stationary and no ability to turn the camera remotely. Fine if you don’t want a complicated set up or just need to point it in one place. Easy enough to see in light or dark.

For $70 this camera works great and the ability to monitor it remotely works very well. The camera was easy too set up and easy to use. The mydlink Lite app is also easy to use. This model was $20 more than another DLink model I was looking at, but this model has a few features that make it work the extra $20. For me the ability to add an SD card to this model for recording make the extra $20 worth while. This model also supports HD video and has a wider camera angle. You can't control the direction of the camera remotely, but with the wide angle, I don't see this as a problem. You can set the app to send notifications of motion or sound detection to your phone/email. You need to learn how to set the sensitivity of the of the notifications or you will get a lot of false notifications. The camera is quiet, but it makes a slight noise when switching from day to night mode. This noise can cause a noise notification. Also, on a day that goes from sunny to cloudy and back, you can get many false motion notifications for that. But still, I suspect that can happen on even more expensive cameras, you just need to play with the sensitivity a bit. So overall, especially for the money and ease of use, I am very happy with this camera.

This is the only affordable security camera that records with motion sensor and also warns with notification sound on your cell phone. It has a very good infrared night vision ability; there is almost no difference between the lighted room or pitch dark room. You can see where you're monitoring with 120 degree angle on your smartphone .

I read some reviews about difficulty to set up, but I found this quit easy to install and view the picture on my iPhone. I'm thinking to add another of these cameras, so hope it goes just as well. The only negative for me is that with my camera set on the inside of a window, the night vision does not work (the LED light bounces off the glass at night). I read this on the reviews or in the manual before purchasing, but it did not stop me from purchasing the camera. I might try to cover the LED lights to see if that helps.

The noise detection and motion detection are pretty good, but very sensitive, it goes off when a plane fly over my house. I adjust the sensitivity of the detector and it help a little. The night vision are pretty decent and it was easy to setup. Once the price goes down again, I plan on getting another for the garage !

Very good starter security camera. It is very sensitive to movement and light. I get several false alarms if I leave my bedroom door open, because the light from the window and the moving curtain from the ceiling fan trigger the camera to begin recording and to send alerts to my phone. Other than that, it records clear in daylight mode and night vision. It has however, failed to record when I was standing right in front of it. It works 9 out of 10 times!
